Upon entering Oriental Wok you are greeted with the ambiance you would expect from a sit down Chinese restaurant. The staff were super friendly and attentive. We ordered the wonton soup, edamame, General Wong with shrimp (spicy), and Bali Mali steak with fries. Soup was very good, probably the best items from what we ordered. The edamame oddly enough felt like it was microwave steamed, the steak was a favorite for my kid, and last the general Wong was like a general Tso's. I didn't consider that when I ordered but it really was very sweet and not at all spicy. I felt like it's something akin to what you may get at Panda Express. I should have stuck to the traditional Chinese dishes. But overall and for the price I will certainly try it again. Oriental Wok was an awesome Asian Restaurant we recently found on Buttermilk Pike in Northern Kentucky. It's a very elegant looking place with chandeliers and very nice looking decor and carpet everywhere. Despite how expensive looking the place is the prices for the food were very reasonable (at least for lunch when we were there.) We started with some Crab Rangoon which was some of the best I've ever had (them or Lin's in Cleves). For my main course I got the Sesame Chicken with fried rice and an eggroll. All of it was high level with eggroll being particularly delicious. The service was top notch as well rounding off a superb experience. We'll definitely be back and often. read more

This place has that perfect small town chic vibe... the staff makes you feel like part of the family... everyone's ready to greet you, chat, and make sure you're taken care of. My kid asked for extra cherries with her Shirley Temple and got what looked like half a jar. Instant win. There's a live piano, giant koi fish swimming around, and a cozy atmosphere that just feels special. The food is strong across the board... I'm a General's Chicken kind of guy and they do it right... crispy, saucy, and full of flavor. The kung pow is also solid, and the Peking Duck comes with a whole tableside presentation that makes it feel like an event. My only gripe? The crab rangoons. They overload the filling with garlic and it just doesn't work for me. Next time I'll stick with the egg rolls. My boyfriend, Victor, and I went for dinner on Valentine's Day --no reservation, but planned on sitting in the bar area anyway, and there are tables and bar seating that is only first come first serve, so it worked out! The place looked beautiful, as it seemed to be decorated with Lunar New Year decor. After getting seated, we sat longer than usual before our drink order was taken, but we were okay and not in a hurry. The server was very apologetic and friendly, which was nice. We quickly ordered apps and our meals all at the same time, hoping to make it easier on the server, which seemed appreciated. I ordered General Wong's chicken, without mushrooms (the menu stated that the dish also came with onion, snow peas, and peppers, which sounded great!). My boyfriend ordered Mongolian Beef. For apps, we chose crab rangoon. I was told they'd try to leave out the mushrooms, but that "the kitchen is having to make such large portions at a time and really churning out the food right now" may not make it possible. To me, I figured, no big deal...I can pick them out. We had asked for chopsticks, but told they couldn't find any anywhere. Again, not a big deal. The food was served fairly quickly --nice surprise. His Mongolian beef was tasty, however my General Wong chicken had NOTHING in it as stated on the menu. It was full of baby corn, broccoli, and cabbage. I do not ever like these items when eating Asian dishes. The flavor of the sauce was perfect, but the chicken was lukewarm at best. Parts of it were even on the cold side....which my boyfriend decided to try and see why I was disappointed, and agreed it was not okay. Unfortunately, this is not the first time getting a meal with altered ingredients without asking if okay. But to have this happen AND the temperature be so off with the dish was such a disappointment. The final downer of our dinner was the check coming and showing a higher price than the menu showed. It was only a dollar higher per meal, but still weird. My boyfriend didn't want to make a fuss so he just quickly and quietly paid and we left. We've had several good visits in the past, but this really expensive and subpar special occasion meal really gives both of us second thoughts about returning. read more

Fun atmosphere! This was my first time here. Super fun atmosphere with koi ponds and lanterns. The little won ton chips they put on your table are so good! I could fill up on these way too easily. I started with the Bali Mali Steak as an appetizer. My boyfriend loved it but I wasn't such a fan. The quality of steak wasn't very good and I guess I'm a little picky about that. I had beef fried rice and it was very good, my boyfriend had sweet and sour chicken and loved it. Portions were large and we had plenty to take home, especially after filling up on the won ton chips. Oriental Wok is always one of my favorites. I love their crab Rangoons and Hong Kong Chicken, which is basically a tempura fried chicken breast with gravy and vegetables. Husband & I stopped in early afternoon on Christmas Eve for lunch. We've eaten here many times & have always had stellar service & delicious food. We were seated promptly and then,, we sat. We waited for someone to stop by our table but it never happened until I stopped a server who was flying past our table so I could order our drinks. Our drinks were delivered promptly and then we sat some more. A young couple who was seated at the table behind us got tired of being ignored and they got up and walked out. I had to stop a server to ask her if she knew who our server was and if so, could she please send him / her over. Once our food orders were finally taken, things improved a bit. Our food was delicious, no complaints there but we were very disappointed in the lackluster service. Our server did stop to check on us once and then the excuses started rolling off her tongue. The kitchen is slammed. We've got a big party sitting over in that section. The takeout orders are backing us up. Blah blah blah. I would love to give this place five stars but, it is not exceptional but, a lovely place. First the reception was exceptional. Friendly faces, immediate setting and they offered my daughter a cute little ring before we sat. The restaurant reminds me of a China restaurant in old school Las Vegas. We love the Wong family and the Oriental Wok! Had a great celebration for my grandpa's birthday. Mr Wong made us feel like special guests and brought us bottles of champagne. I got the curry noodles. I am a huge fan of curry and appreciated the south-eastern Asian twist on it. This is a longstanding restaurant out in the Kentucky suburbs of Cincinnati. I don't know what it looked like when it opened, but at this point it is an ostentatious dining area in a very large room, mixing the live goldfish one might expect with some evidence of Americana as well. The menu has a vegetarian section. The style of cooking seemed Hunan perhaps to me. I got a five-spice tofu. I was quite pleased that it was served over an ample bed of greens and with the choice of white, brown, or fried rice (particularly given that the person next to me asked for no vegetables and white rice with everything; I am reminded of the simple choices we make regarding our health). The tofu was deliciously crispy, though the spices didn't come across quite as strongly as I'd hoped. The side of green beans I got, which had a savory black bean sauce, might have been tastier. Both were good however. A pot of tea had more than I could drink. It's on the pricey side (though this may reflect ambiance as much as food), but for an area not overflowing with Chinese cuisine I was happy that I found this place to try. read more

Tasty Chinese food in Fort Mitchell! Oriental Wok is a Tri-State staple - and I can't believe it's taken me this long to try it. On Saturdays, their mobile ordering opens at 4 p.m. on the dot ... and after a busy day of errands, you better believe I put in that takeout order as soon as I could. Two entrees and one appetizer cost just over $50, which seems a little pricey, but I will say the portion sizes are enormous. My order was ready when I arrived 20 minutes later - and I love that this restaurant has a separate takeout counter from their host stand. The interior is cute and eclectic - I would totally opt to dine in on my next visit. The takeout bags they use are a nice touch - instead of traditional plastic, they're a nice paper - almost gift-bag quality. Our order consisted of Crab Rangoons, Shrimp Fried Rice, and Vegetarian Pad Thai. Their menu has several vegetarian options - and it was hard to make a decision! The Rangoons were definitely our favorite thing we got - they were warm, crispy, and served with a delicious sweet and sour sauce. The Fried Rice was my husband's - and he said his only complaint was that he wanted a bit more sauce. I had the same thought about the Pad Thai - which otherwise had great flavor and was loaded with tasty veggies. One thing to note - if you order something "extra spicy," that just means that your dish is topped with lots of red pepper flakes. I like red pepper flakes, so that wasn't an issue for me - but just something to keep in mind if you're looking for a different type of heat. Oriental Wok is absolutely a solid option the next time you're craving Chinese food! read more

Astonishingly and unexpectedly good! From the atmosphere to the service to the food, I can't recommend Oriental Wok enough. We dined at the Ft. Mitchell location and we will definitely be back.
