There are a bunch of fields for baseball and soccer. There are two playgrounds; one for older kids and one for toddlers. The toddler playground is large with two jungle gyms, swings, and a sprinkler which would be great in the summer heat. Walking paths are paved and well maintained. Grass areas are clean.

It was a crowded day, and the traffic entering and leaving the Gardens was intense. For anyone who enjoys natural beauty and has a whole day to relax and explore these grounds, you will absolutely love it. The fact that this garden is free is also a great gift to the community. One drawback is that you can't bring your fur babies.

The place looks well maintained, with benches & gazebo. No parking in the park but we found empty spots on the streets. Lots of what looks like locals are walking their dogs. They don't look friendly, maybe they could tell we are not from there. I assume they are more strict during the warmer months. So if you are not from westchester like us, i recommend visiting in the winter or maybe fall.

It's especially beautiful in the fall for the foliage--the trees burst with color, creating a vibrant backdrop to the river gorge. The trails themselves are easy, quick, and simple, with minimal elevation gain (no limited hills), making them accessible for just about anyone. You can enjoy a relaxing walk or seek out a more "ruggedness when needed" feel in certain sections. I constantly see people enjoying them: biking, walking, and even taking conference calls while soaking up the view! Important Dog Owner Warning These are great trails for walking your dogs. I often see dogs enjoying being off-leash here, but if you choose to do so, please be hyper-aware! The trail runs right alongside the Metro-North Hudson Line tracks (the stretch between the Riverdale and Spuyten Duyvil stops), and the fence isn't aligning the whole way. A distracted dog chasing a rabbit or squirrel can easily run right onto the active tracks. Keep a tight watch or use a long lead--it's not worth the risk, even if your dog is well-behaved. Overall, a highly recommended spot for a scenic, simple, and convenient outdoor experience!

My dad and I had a great time, and we got all of our steps in that day. There was one part of Riverdale Park with branches leaning against a tree and it kind of looked like a scene out of The Blair Witch Project. Theres playground for the kids, track field and athletic field among many other things. They also have hiking trails if you prefer that. It's a really big park with lots to do. It can get crowded on weekends so parking can be a pain but worth it
