Cigars ARE a healthy alternative to cigarettes, don't let the mainstream media fool you... you won't catch me with a vape though I'm a grown ass man lol. Halfway through my cigar, the headrush starting to rattle my prefrontal cortex, I stumbled upon this "park." I guess we are using the word "park" as loosely as we are using the term "GOAT" now lol. This triangular "park" probably spans 500 ft in total surface area as it is essentially just a small intersection of 6th Ave and W Broadway. I'd take my estimate with a grain of salt though as Pythagoras had my number in high school geometry aahaahaha. I sat here ripping my cigar on one of the many open benches enjoying the architecture in the skyline, as the Jenga building stands tall watching over the "park." I think if I didn't have severe hyperhidrosis of the hands I would have been an architect. Seems like such an enriching profession, just seeing your work go from drafts on paper to actual buildings must be a beautiful feeling. In my humble and holier-than-thou opinion, staying in on New Years is a life hack and will be a chapter in the book I will continue to draft but never finish. There's lots of things around it. It's located in the middle of Broadway. It usually doesn't have too much going on inside. The attractions around it are what make it a good visit. It's a nice neighborhood to walk around. There's lots of places to eat and shop. It's a good place for a sit. There's usually some kind of art work. It's located near a subway line. It's easy to get to other areas of Manhattan from here. The park is useful for resting.

From here you can have awesome views of all Manhattan: the Financial district, the Lower East Side, Midtown and uptown, not to mention the Williamsburg bridge, the Manhattan bridge and the Brooklyn bridge. It was a lovely way to spend an evening. The park is lush and well designed, with lots of green space and flowers in bloom. Its waterfront esplanade is a pretty place for a walk, especially as the sun starts to set over the Manhattan skyline. I wandered up the raised slope at the street side of the park, which provides fantastic views across the East River. The elevated area where the jazz performance took place sits right on the water and made for a special setting to enjoy live music. A lot is packed into this section of the park. There's a large soccer field, public restrooms, water bottle filling stations, and a children's play area with shade and water features. I enjoyed seeing the small sandy beach, and BIP connects directly with Marsha P. Johnson Park, so there's even more to see as you walk and enjoy even waterfront green space. I also appreciated researching the site's transformation from an industrial area into a public park with restored natural features. It feels like a space that is actively working to improve and serve the neighborhood, and is well worth a visit. Let's hope monster development projects don't stop the park's promise from expanding even further.

You might think that this park was just the backyard of the Fresh Meadows Shopping Center or…read morebelonged to Kohl's department store, but in actuality is a real property of NYC Parks & Recreation. It's about 1.25 acres stretching 500 ft along the Horace Harding Expy and affords a great view of Long Island Expy rush hour traffic. Lol It's just about a 50/50 split of paved concrete walkways and green space with real trees, bushes, grass and plenty of park benches. I could count the number of trees on my fingers. There are no other facilities here except for 3 signs calling out the name & rules of the park, street lights and a few garbage cans. I have to credit the NYC Parks & Rec Dept for keeping this area really clean with no litter in sight and all lawns & bushes nicely manicured. The location certainly is convenient with plenty of shops and restaurants within 500 ft and Q17, Q30 & Q88 buses right on the corner. If you have a hankering for buffalo wings from Hooters, a Poke bowl from Pokeworks or a fresh baked pizza from Blaze, it's not the worst place to sit down to eat your lunch outside on a park bench. If movie theaters ever reopen, you can even meet up here with your friends for a movie at the AMC next door.

This park is huge and has several parts . While we always go to the lower levels for playground/…read more basketball areas we decided to visit the upper level Ridgewood Reservoir area . It's an elevated area with views of Brooklyn and Queens . You came see the ait traffic towers at JFK and even The Rockaways from some points. To get up top there are staircases all around the park. If you enter on the side facing parking lot there is an accessible ramp that takes you to the top as well. Up top you can walk or bike ( shared pathway). Walk around to check out the views or hit the middle pathway for the reservoir views. Signage is good and there are lots of historical and informational checkpoints. We went sort of mid morning and it wasn't crowded. Other evening and weekends when we visited other parts of the park there's been a significant amount of people but not crowded. The parking lot however can get jam packed on weekends. Lots of park workers around cleaning and giving directions etc , It's a well kept park. The picnic areas are nice as well. One side of the Reservoir is very noise due to the Jackie Robinson highway running along that end , heavy traffic sounds. Other than that it was a peaceful walk and bird /nature sounds were quite audible. I nice place to get your steps in and enjoy views.
