Where do I begin? Pella installed windows that don't fit, destroyed my window sills, and left me with windows that are foggy, hard to open, and missing or broken locks. The job failed inspection, and even the inspector was shocked. After chasing them down, they scheduled a meeting with a supervisor and tech--no one showed up. No call. No apology. Then they sent a postcard asking if I "love my new windows." Clueless. They pressured me for a 5-star review right after measurements--now I understand why. Once the contract is signed, they vanish. We needed to replace our upstairs windows due to some storm damage, and contracted with Lowes to install Pella windows. Little did we know the nightmare that would await. The installers they sent from Farrow were inexperienced, and managed to put in one of the sills crooked. Then, the stucco installer did not use a drop cloth and left debris and damaged our shingles. The stucco did not pass inspection due to multiple large cracks. When the installer from Farrow came out to repair the stucco, he said there was no way to patch it and it would need to be redone. Now Lowe's is saying they will not replace and will only patch, and Farow has not reached out to set a new appointment. This has been going on for over 6 month, and the inspector has stated that the stucco will never pass inspection in its current condition. In addition, one of the windows arrived with a broken screen. Pella techs were sent out to determine that yes, it was broken, but they insisted that Lowe's would need to order and install the parts themselves. When the installer arrived, he had the wrong parts. Pella reordered the broken part and set an appointment for over a month away. When the appointment date was close I reached out to find out wh time the were coming. Their phone service said that it was outside of normal business hours, despite calls multiple times during the day. No-one ever reached out or showed up, and upon calling Pella, the scheduler could not be reached. I did speak to a Lowe's manager who assured me that she would make sure things got moving again. However, since then I have repeated calls from Lowe's associates regarding how Farrow should have already reached out, and I would need to contact Pella directly, which I have already tried and failed. We have 6 double hung Pella windows installed in 97/98. Of the 12 panes total, 4 have literally dissolve in place. The wood has rotted away and the aluminum clad has fallen into the yard. From the pictures it is obvious that one window is sliding down in the frame because there is not enough of the window pane left to hold the glass in place. To date, I've replaced 2 panes via Pella service. I have been unsuccessful in attempting to get even a quote to replace 2 more (which are being held in place with duct tape) even though their service department did a Zoom visit and I gave them the dimensions. Without a quote, it is impossible to place an order! I've called corporate support to try to get a response and was told "we're very busy". Possibly because so many of their windows are failing ! I was told that Pella has discontinued this product line and if we need to replace hardware, we're out of luck. Fortunately we only need to replace the wood and glass ... so far. read more

The sales associate was great. When the guys wore here to install the windows 3 out of 5 windows wore wrong size. They installed 1 successful window and they did not caulk around the window trim. I have gapes between the window trim and I was told they wore going to remove the old shutter brackets which they did not. With other window we had some issues and trying to get some clarification from the office in Orlando it has been impossible. The manager is always busy it has not gotten back to me and it has been 2 weeks. I keep calling and still nothing. Customer service is extremely unreliable. What a joke. read more

Now twi years later all molding is coming off outside of door. called Pella and was told sorry, ee don't warranty anything but the door itself. Explained the molding was part of what they installed. Bottom line the work looks good to begin with and within two years started to fall apart. Wow. I wish I had read these reviews before going with Pella Windows and Doors of Orlando. Paid over $54,000 to replace all windows only to wait 4 months for installation and then they FAIL the first inspection. Required Child Safety Locks on second story windows were on the manufacturers orders, however, the windows came without the locks and the installers install the windows without the locks anyway. FAIL. Two windows were installed incorrectly based on the manufacturers specifications in the permit documents. FAIL. Now trying to get resolution only to speak with the "project manager" who knows nothing about the project or what to do to resolve these issues. The stucco can not be repaired until the inspection passes and it seems like they aren't concerned about correcting the issue. We, the homeowners, have to just sit and wait for them to do anything. We thought by spending more for Pella Windows and Pella installers, we would get quality workmanship. WRONG. Apparently, they are no different from any of the lower priced window manufacturers. We could have spent half the price for the same quality of installers. HORRIBLE follow-thru and horrible customer service. Would NOT recommend this company at all. read more

Absolute worst customer service ever. Waited 7 months for $5k sliding door install. Installer was a decent guy and did ok. A week after he left the screen door fell apart. It's now May 22 and still waiting for the final inspection and the door repair. Called them three times and was told the inspector would be there in a week. Started my nightmare with Pella on May10, 2022. Bought a bank of windows and a double front door with side panels on each side. Over $50,000. Paid off the loan a long time ago. First front door package was defective from the factory but was installed anyway as my old doors were removed prior to realizing the Pella doors were bad. The doors were installed on November 29, 2022. The door sticks at the bottom as it was pre-hung at the factory improperly. Parts keep falling off of the doors as well as the interior door handle. Replacement door was supposed to be replaced this spring but the new door came in with a broken door frame. I waited all day before they told me they weren't coming to install the door. Now it is the end of July, 2023 and we are still waiting for our door. On to the windows. Remember we purchased the windows on May 10, 2022...windows were installed on March 3, 2023. As of today, July 28, 2023 we are still waiting for the interior trim to be installed. I've taken off at least four days of work to get this done and I am still waiting. Cancelled appointments, showing up with the wrong parts, and once they came to wash the windows when I was told they were going to install the trim. Today they emailed me four minutes prior to the appointment time telling me they were canceling the appointment. I think 15 months is a year to long for a company that considers themselves to be a quality upscale company with a superior product. I don't know about you but I'm tired of the run around. I'm calling my attorney to weigh my options including contacting the local TV station. What a social media nightmare this will be for Pella. read more

I am so disappointed in Pella. In NY we installed 20 windows and never had a problem. We come to Florida, ATTEMPT to have Pella install a sliding glass door and have nothing but problems. The door was installed but it is not completed. The stucco outside the door still needs to be completed. The "stucco" guy was supposed to be here in Good Friday in April from 8am-9:30am. He showed up at 3pm. We had plans to go to Mass so we told him to leave. He had the nerve to tell us that he could do the work while we were gone?? Seriously? We are going to let someone in our house when we aren't home? NOPE! It's now June, We are sitting here waiting for the work to be done and he is late AGAIN! Pella can't coordinate anything, but they can certainly cash the check for the door immediately. I will NEVER recommend this company. Install did not happen until January of 2023. The install at that time was not completely finished as the outside trim for our door was sent the wrong color. also with failed inspections. We have had a few more visits either with wrong color trim again, or wrong part. It is now February of 2024 and we are still waiting for our door trim. The office has had very poor communication through this whole process and we continually reach out without resolution. My husband has reached out by phone twice since Friday and sent an email without response. We paid over $11,000 for these doors and our project is still not completed. we signed our contract with Pella Orlando for window and door replacement in March 2022 and it is now March 2024 and Pella has FINALLY completed work! Of course, during these past 2 years we have had an impossible amount of telephone and email conversations with their various customer service people and numerous times their contractors had to come to our home to attempt completion of their job. Very expensive and not worth the cost. Installation was a nightmare and took several months to complete. Then the first inspection failed, and Pella had to redo parts of the doors to pass inspection. Pella installed our windows last month. They had to reorder 3 because they were the wrong size. Told us it would be 3 wks. In the meantime, they were to have someone out to fix the stucco around the windows. No one ever came out. We called and emailed our coordinator Cristina Wyman but she never responded. After the 3 wks, we get an email saying our windows would be done mid December. A couple of days ago the inspector was here to do a final. He was appalled by what he saw. Nothing was finished. He said Pella was now on his radar. I had to call the Corp. office in Iowa to submit my complaint. I spoke with a mgr.who told me she would have to contact Orlando office. Apparently, she did because we did get a call for stucco work. No one from the Orlando office has apologized, or offered any compensation. They have totally ruined our holidays. Giving a 1 star is far more than this company deserves. This has been such a disaster. Full house window job was started over 2 months ago and is still not finished. First the wrong sashes were ordered, they put a frosted window in my bedroom, some windows have grids and others don't. I'm told new sashes were ordered, but no one can even give me a ballpark for how long it will take. I just want to know what the lead time typically is...the communication is horrible. I can't even get a definite date for when they were actually ordered. Many of my screens have holes in them so I can't open my new windows now that the weather is cooler. They finally came back to finish some inside work (after many many follow up calls and emails) and they accidentally broke a window frame so another order with no idea when it will be finished. The installers were nice guys and the job seems quality from what we can tell at this point. We still have stickers on all these dirty windows because they tell me they can't be removed or cleaned until the inspection is done. New stucco on the outside, but we are afraid to paint or do anything until the job is finished and passes inspection, in case something needs to be ripped out again. No one will respond to email or return my calls. I recently was told that a manager would call me back and no one ever does. Literally no communication!!! I am contacting the Better Business Bureau tomorrow and if no resolution I will file a case with small claims court. From where we sit it looks like an abandoned job. Neighbors got windows installed by Lowe's and were done in 3 days with no issues. Best part is...we have already been charged the almost $30,000 for an unfinished job. Don't buy your windows and doors with Pella. They can't beat other companies on price, timing, or overall quality of work. You're better off spending your money with renewal by Andersen or window world. See my story below. Price $19.7k for 3 windows and 3 sliding glass doors $1k to fix the exterior trim Project timeline -August '22 - windows ordered with ~3 month estimated install timeline -October '22 - I called to check status, it was delayed a month waiting for parts -November '22 - called again and delayed again but promised before the new year -December '22 - called again and now need 2 additional months -Early February '23 - called and yay they finally have all the parts and schedule the install for late Feb -Late February '23 - installers call morning of first day to let me know too many of there crew were sick to come that week. I had already moved all furniture, taken down blinds, and made arrangements at work to work from home. Inspector shows up the next day, Pella forgot to cancel that. Install is rescheduled to March -March '23 - first day of install rolls around again and the installers call to say they're gathering the materials and won't be out till the second day of the install. More of my time and energy wasted. They do show up the second day and install everything okay HOA I live in an HOA on the second floor. Everything needs to be similar to the units around it. I explained this to the sales guy Andrew and yet somehow they showed up with the wrong exterior trim material and then charged me to fix it. I argued for 1/2 hour but couldn't get it lowered to 0 and it has to be done right for the HOA. Associates People at this company are overworked, and no one has the time. They never called with updates or to schedule the install. I'm convinced if I didn't call them so many times the install may not have happened until 2024 or maybe ever. Andrew was my sales person. He never returned any of my calls after the sale was made. Heather was my project manager. I only ever got her on the phone once or twice. She was supposedly in charge of all projects for Orlando so understandably she was in a meeting or call every time I called. About Pella Pella manufactures their own products makes ~$2.2 Billion annually and has 7,000 employees. I couldn't find their CEO and CFO salaries, but if I had to guess they're making way too much money and need to hire more people to support their customers who are paying a premium! I can't even imagine what their profit margins are on these products. To anyone at Pella reading this - I paid a premium price for your windows and doors expecting a premium experience. Our mini blind inside the slider in our bedroom has broken three times so far. Rep said it's defective. Last break was June. We have not been able to raise the blinds in our bedroom since June. I CANNOT GET SERVICE. Just lip service from Charlotte at Pella saying they cannot schedule us until December. Really? She says no one can change the schedule. Ordered Windows from Pella and they gave me a date 6 months in the future to install. One of the windows was wrong, so they had to reorder. This took another 3 months to get. Once the install was done several of the windows would not open any longer. I tried for 3 months to reach service to get this resolved. They kept saying it would be scheduled shortly. But the schedule date never got set and I am still waiting for service to solve the problems with our windows. It has now been well over a year from project start, and I do not have working windows yet. I should have gone with Lowes and Anderson windows in hindsight. read more

Purchased 4 Pella vinyl windows from Lowes in FL late 2020 did not receive for several weeks due to Covid (everyone loves to blame. Installation crew was considerate and did thew job adequately, we have a cinder block house and the old windows were, old . Thought new windows with impact resistance would be the right thing. So finally had a heavy rain and the water started backing up into the house! around the edges of the widow onto the drywall and under the flooring on all 4 windows!!! Frantic my wife and I are mopping up water off the sills all nite. Notice that water is building up in a trough below a plastic cover that should lead to the weep hole's , so stay with me, I take the small covers off the weep holes (in the rain) thinking they are not functioning properly, No help. So a night lost, and we make the call to Pella service and they send out a tech fairly quickly (hooray) in the meantime my wife is able to suck out of the trough approx. 40oz of water! the tech arrives and I explain the plight of these none functioning windows and he pops the cover off the "troughs" and says the "weep holes are not drilled out" I'm floored as a mfg. eng. that is a product failure and should be recalled!!! Shouldn't one mold in the weep hole for proper functionality? or factory drill out the weep holes so not to penetrate below the trough and cause the water to accumulate below the widow on the sill? Service had no help not covered under warranty now I have to pay to replace drywall and flooring? PELLA is a HORRID company, and have a HORRID product they do not back up!! Again all 4 windows had this problem how many more are out there waiting for a good rain and cause mold and other damage to one's home. Where do I even begin to explain the worst, most unreliable service I have ever had in my entire life? The date of this review is Oct 21; my project is STILL not completed and it was started in June 6- which was a last minute no show reschedule from May. 1. Promises, promises, promises and not coming through. Promises on the delivery of service, on when a tech would show, on when a repair person would show and yet still haven't had the door completed. 2. Poor customer service. E-mail back and forth, then I won't hear anything for about 2 weeks, then a random email back, then silence. I call the Orlando customer service and somehow HE started yelling at ME that he was too stressed out and too busy to get back to each customer and if I didn't continue to follow up and keep pushing for my project to be completed that nothing would get done. Needless to say, I'll respond to an email, I don't hear anything back and then I have to follow up with them. 3. Install day; late last minute reschedule from May. Then we rescheduled to June. They were supposed to be at my house 8am; I called around 11am, got excuses on why nobody was there, then they show up. What a joke. Very unprofessional install team, made a mess, complained it was taking long and late in the day, never mind the state they left my guest toilet in. 4.Every time they set an appointment, I agree and say we won't be home; they say it's fine; tech shows up and leaves a note, couldn't do it, owner not at home. Now the most recent email was setting up a date and time for an appointment, I said I wouldn't be home, usually they say it's no problem and they set the appointment anyway. Didn't hear anything back. I email them and was told I said I was out of town???? Nowhere in the email does it say that. Oh, did I mention this appointment was to REPAIR the tear they put in the weather strip during the install? 5. The contract was 50% down and final payment at completion of the project. They are now trying to get me to make the final payment now, but the project isn't completed!!! And emailing me that my account is past due. The things that are not completed- very visible screw holes in the frame (they had to be left open for the city inspector, that just happened. While waiting for the inspection, we had to keep these large red tags on the windows for the inspector; and no, it wasn't the inspector that delayed, it was Pella that delayed in setting up the appointment). The stucco around my frame was damaged during the install, no worries because part of the contract was that needs to be repaired. Still not done. Air is leaking under the door- they need to seal it up correctly. 6. Allegedly a manager is involved in my case, but I have yet to hear one word or confirmation from the manager- and this was after requesting that a manager be involved. In conclusion, I would never ever use this company EVER again! Do NOT waste your time OR money. We got an extremely expensive double door that they have yet to complete the project on. now almost 5 months later. I see other reviews that also mention that the installation process took months to complete. I'm starting to believe this won't get resolved before 2022. read more

The sales and installers were great. However, they failed to schedule the necessary installation inspections, so the installation was stalled. After a week, the installer showed up but the inspector didn't. The staff gave some explanation/excuse and said they could submit an installation affidavit in lieu of the inspection. After a few days without word, I called them. No return call. After a few more days the receptionist called me to see how things went. She was surprised the inspection never happened. She promised the installation manager would call me immediately. Of course no call. After 2 more days of waiting, I had to call several times to finally get someone on the phone. The installation manager gave some lame excuse about the inspectors wanted some type of moisture installation he had not heard of before. Two weeks after installation, my interior walls are still exposed and worse then before. I'm sure Pella is a quality product, but their franchise staff needs help. read more

I was pleased with the quality of workmanship. Really opened the living room and created and extension to my outdoor space. They are racist period. Over three months and our second salesman. We got estimate first time but salesman never bothered to respond to my emails, text or voicemails. Second salesman gave up an estimate but kept on postponing signing of contract. We even applied for line of credit and approved for 15000 dollars. Salesman does not even give me a reason to why he is ignoring us. I requested to speak with a manager and that didn't happen. Spoke with Jacksonville branch and headquarters and they feel bad how Orlando branch chooses and picks customers depending on their race or believes or..... I had windows installed a couple of years ago. They did a triple slider and windows in the family room. The sale and the installation went well, even though they had to work to a remodel schedule. Everything fit the first time and the room is much cooler in the summer and warmer in the winter. I plan to do more this year. read more
