Fortunately we walked in early enough to get a table for two without reservations. However I highly recommend calling ahead during prime hours. However, if you must wait a bit they will likely bring out a serving of tea to bide you over. We ordered the dinner for two and could not believe the variety, flavors, and portions. The naan was amazing as one would expect. The chicken, rice, lamb and sauce was filled with flavor, spice, and and diversity. I'm not sure one could find anything to disagree with. However, I've yet to share the best part! The hosts and servers made the evening unforgettable! (I won't share all the details so you can engage and discover your own surprises.) as in true afghan style, we were greeted warmly at the start and felt like family when time to leave. They enjoyed us dining with them as much as we enjoyed all they offered. Overall we experienced a delicious and peaceful night out, filled with new friends, tastes and memories. The food is fresh and the quality is good, if this was in central Brighton then it would be a lot more expensive than the price you pay in Hove/Portslade. Also, the food is very cheap - all you can eat of three courses of delicious and fresh food for just a mere £15.95. They also put on an Elvis night on every so often that you pay an extra few pounds for so that you can be entertained by Elvis all night! I would highly recommend this restaurant. There's not space for loads of people, but it's the intimacy that makes it so atmospheric. The latter came about as my wife asked, why I wasn't having the rump steak cooked blue. I said I reserve that for fillet steak. That's when Charlie said he had some fillet. So, I had it cooked blue. My wife had the fillet steak too. Mine was cooked to perfection, and clearly a well aged piece of beef, as it was purple inside and no blood residue.
