There was another group there and the co-owner Van gave us all a brief but thorough throwing and safety training and then gave us throwing tips throughout the time we were there. He was a great coach and had a good sense of humor. It takes a while to get the hang of axe throwing so don't give up if the first half hour doesn't go as well as you'd like it to go. I felt we both really hit our stride during the second half hour. My hubs and I both hit the bullseye three times each! And this is only our second time throwing axes. He explained how to throw and how to change the games. Gave us our first commercial spiel as well. There is beer and cider and water for sale. He's trying/waiting for wine. We had a great time. The different games were fun and we all found our favorite. When our time was up he came back around with foam axes and good pictures of us and we got another commercial. Since it wasn't busy, he gave us another half hour and we played on. When our time was up, he came by again and asked how we liked our experience.
