His staff is very friendly and makes you very relaxed and comfortable. The hygienist does an awesome job cleaning my teeth; very gentle but thorough, and I didn't feel like she was rushing to finish. The receptionist is also super nice and always seems to get me in for an appointment within a week. Dr.Rothkopf himself is very very nice, friendly and most importantly not a crook. He tells you honestly what he thinks you should do in regards to your teeth and if you need work done how much it will cost. My boyfriend comes here too and has had a broken tooth fixed and a few caps replaced. Dr Rothkopf did a great job fixing them and also didn't charge him an arm and a leg. What I really value in a dentist is reason. I had an awful experience with a dentist close to my house and he recommended I replace all my fillings with some new snazzy material that wouldn't be covered by insurance. I was horrified. He also mentioned a number of cavities that needed refilling and suggested more procedures that seemed quite bizarre to me considering my previous visits to a dentist back home at my parents hadn't suggested any of these...oh and they would cost a boatload of cash. I realized this man was just trying to make money. Stan is not. He is a not a cosmetic dentist who will try to take you and the insurance companies for money. He only does what is necessary and always keeps an eye on things that may become necessary in the near future. He knows me personally now, operates pain free and is funny! I was there Monday of this week for a filling.. They let some of the filling liquid (or something) leak into my throat while they were doing the filling (I felt the burning but couldn't do anything because of all the equipment in my mouth) and it left the skin in my throat with a chemical burn which has since turned into a canker sore in my throat where the burning was. They also allowed some of the liquid to leak on my upper gums, causing the same result.

I tried calling and the phone rang and went to voicemail. By 8:15 no one had arrived yet and I decided to not wait any longer. I called the office again and left a message. Unfortunately, no one from the office has called back and returned my message. It was very frustrating because not only did I miss a couple of hours of work, but now I have to take off more time when I find another dentist. Needless to say, I won't be going back here.

He pointed to a well positioned poster on the wall advertising the service and medication. The staff then began negotiating treatment with me while in the chair. They explained that Dr. Stubblefield was offering new patients "gift cards" for the treatment if they agreed to return quarterly for the same treatment. The treatment is of course outside of insurance! I smelled something fishy! I then went to another dentist to be examined. That dentist advised me that I did not have periodontal disease, but rather pretty healthy teeth! Some dentists have shrunk to the practice of unnecessary treatments to boost their bottom line. It's not illegal, just not exactly ethical!

It had been a very long time since I went to the dentist and my first visit was only $99 for a new patient special, which included a lot of services along with a cleaning. They take great images of your teeth so you can see what they see. I came back for one of my fillings and left even more impressed. Drilling and fixing a tooth in the very back of my mouth was in no way comfortable, but it was done efficiently and with care. I really said to myself, every penny is worth having this woman as my dentist. Her credentials speak for themselves, but having a great personality and wonderful staff to back her up... I'm incredibly happy. Not to mention... snacks, coffee and tea, up to date magazines and tv in the waiting room make it that much more comfortable.

I was afraid to go at first, but decided it was needed. I always seem to have pain after going to a dentist, even if not before. At that time Dr. DeLatour was teaching Dentistry at George Washington University, and offered Saturday hours in Fairfax which's also let him have students present for our care. During those years Dr. DeLatour did all of his dentistry, fillings, crowns, root canals. He had two sons and one daughter. She , I believe graduated in Nursing. He often ask my wife questions, since my wife was oldest to two brothers. We were loaded to head out one Saturday on vacation...a temporary crown Dr. DeLatour had installed the pdevious week, fell out. I called him from a pay phone and our Dr.met us at his office and reset the temporary. In February 2002, my wife became sick and I called Dr. Delatour to reschedule her appointments and he said that a Physical limitation he was going to give Jo his practice. . We knew that his son was a very successful dentist on his own part. I believe graduated of several upper lever J.S.Army , dental schools. Were we still in Northern Virginia, this is where I would be. He has always been honest with me as to the pros and cons of a procedure. I look forward to my annual visits because he treats me with respect and is considerate of my needs. As a previous reviewer said, he doesn't have a fancy office; it isn't necessary. In the past, when he did not have the equipment for a procedure he referred me to a colleague who did. I recommend Dr. DeLaTour to anyone who asks me who to use as a dentist.

Over the past 60 years that I've been going to dentists I've had lots of good ones and a couple…read morethat were notably bad. I have been seeing Dr Johnson for about ten years and she is the best so far. It's a two-person office. She does ALL the dental work and that includes cleaning. (for me that was impressive) Her assistant, Saliou, takes care if appointments, insurance issues, and other non-dental activities. The space is clean and friendly. There's always classical music in the background. The appointments are spaced so that (at least for me) there's never a wait. Her manner is calm and conversational and she has always been happy to explain what she's doing and describe any options I might have. Finally, the one or two times I've had to reschedule at the last minute they've always been agreeable and understanding. My sense is their priority is pleasantness over profit. To that end, Dr Johnson focuses on general dentistry. The times I've needed something like a root canal or gum surgery she's referred me out and it's always been to another outstanding practitioner. There's a reason she keeps winning "Best Dentist..." awards an my only hope is that people won't read this and start to flood her appointment book.
