My favorite place in the world, no exaggeration. Lakeside is a Chautauqua which is a sort of…read moreprotected town overseen by a community board in order to preserve its historic charm. The entire town is filled with small cottages old and new. People usually will rent a cottage here for a week in the summer as a vacation home. My family has done this for 40 years. We owned a house within the gates for over 30 years as well. The community is shimmering with kindness. Everyone traveled by bikes and golf carts within the gates, if you forgot your bike I'm certain someone will lend you one for the day, or you can rent you golf cart from Syphred cycles. The town is entirely gated and guarded 24/7. You must purchase a day pass to enter the grounds. The result is that the town is extremely safe. I have been allowed to wander to grounds and ride my bike around alone since I was 5 years old. There are quaint candy shops and other nice stores to shops around. Several tasty restaurants and a beautiful Pier and beach. tons of stuff for kids to do including 3-4 parks, shuffleboard, and an amazingly beautiful lakefront path. I come here every year for 4th of July so this town holds some deep nostalgia for me. I have brought tens of friends here over the years and it is indescribably lovely. I'd advise anyone to come to Lakeside

Costs $20.00 per adult person and $5.00 for parking. Lakeside community is beautiful and quaint. Step back to the 1950s and enjoy life with swimming, shuffleboard, horseshoes, sailing, sand volleyball, basketball, nightly music, shopping, and dining. Dry community so no alcohol. We didn't see many people of various ethnicities and races other than white. Enjoyed walking on docks, visiting shops, shuffle board, Hawaiian ices, lunch at The Hotel, and walking all around. Wonderful day!

Great location next to watermark. Units are in good shape…read morestill. Sleeps 6 on beds only. More can fit in the loft - maybe 5 kids comfortably. Fridge is a tad small if you're staying more than 2 nites. Shower is short so 6 ft is the max w/o hitting head on shower ceiling. Bedroom needs hangers for the closet bar. And could use shelves or hooks. TVs & microwave & hot water was all nice. Main issue was MayFlies all over which is expected, but attendants just sat around instead of skimming the pool or especially the hot tub where there was a couple thousand floating in it. Prices were pretty high but w/ a bogo deal it's on par w/ most mini cabins.

We came up as a family of six for two nights. We chose to stay here instead of Breakers because I…read morethought I would be able to prepare some meals here and save some cash. This was NOT the case. Within a few hours of getting here we realized the mini fridge was not working. After multiple calls and a visit to the front desk, I was compensated with park food vouchers for my family that I am VERY grateful for!! BUT it doesn't change the fact that I'm responsible for wasting a ton of food in an economy where no one should waste anything. On top of the refrigerator issue, the outside area is just bad. I didn't bring folding chairs because we were limited on space but now I wish we did. The picnic table needs painted or replaced desperately, the handrail to the cabin looks like an accident waiting for a place to happen and the mold growing on the window is frightening. I think I paid $1700 for two nights and 6 one day tickets, I'm just not seeing the value. And it's a bit of a hike to the park from here, I walked 25,900 steps yesterday!! Unless you have a cargo van with everything you may need including patio furniture; I'd just stay at Hotel Breakers or that nice Holiday Inn up the street.

We stayed there over the 4th and we could hear every footstep in room above. Toilets had no seat tops and beds were not comfortable. Worst of all, all communication was via texting! The location is great, but for the price ($250+) we think we could have done much better. Next time we will stay at The Breakers at Cedar Point!

Pros: nice staff, beautiful view from front of hotel, seemed pretty clean, quiet during our visit,…read morebreakfast was available until 11:30 am which was good for a morning hater like me. Microwave and tiny fridge in room. Good water pressure even on 3rd floor. This one was a deal breaker for me: the beds are super hard (some people may like this, I am not one of them) and the bedding wasn't comfortable. Looked worn, sheets were scratchy. Other: decor is dated looking, window coverings were worn, the bar felt like an afterthought, and the breakfast buffet was better then a standard continental breakfast. Breakfast is NOT included with the stay, but there is a discount for hotel guests. We were scheduled for 2 nights and only stayed one. The bed was really our major complaint, but it was a huge deal for us. A good night's sleep is important and I didn't get it. There's a lot to like here, but the bed was such a negative for us that I couldn't recommend the place to friends or family.

We were already there by that point, but our experience was very good, thankfully. Most of the complaints seem to be about noise, and I can see that during the season. We went at the end of September, off season, so much less busy I'm sure, and cheaper. There were some negatives so I'll get those out of the way first. We did have a little "neighbor noise" from the hallway and the room next door, but no more than any hotel. Rarely saw other guests except at breakfast and even then only a few. Which is another minor complaint: the breakfast was small even by hotel breakfast standards. Coffee, juice, pastries, and cereal. Yogurt. A pancake maker that beeped randomly. And that's it. Just enough to get you on the road. Other little stuff: weak wifi on the third floor (strong in the lobby.) Maybe they need repeaters. Broadcast TV only. Not that we needed it much, but being able to watch cartoons or something in the evening with a kid would be handy. If not cable, at least apps you can sign into if you have them. No fridge or microwave or clock, at least in our room. But those are really all minor niggles, and we still had a good time. The view was great. We had a two-queen Jacuzzi room, and there's a little balcony. The Jacuzzi was a blast for Kid K. She also loved the little beach (not really good for swimming with muck and goose poop, but nice to stand on.) And she liked the sand at the volleyball court, and the playground and rocks. In season they have three pools and a splashpad which would be loads of fun. Also a game room in the basement with air hockey, video games, board games to borrow. And a laundry and meeting room down there, and the ice machine. Snack and pop machines on each floor. A nice lobby with TV. The breakfast rooms were nice: bright and airy, many cozy chairs and tables. In the room comfy beds (recently updated?) A Keurig. A small bathroom with a separate vanity in the dressing area. There are cabins which would be good for big families. A marina which was in regular use. Tennis courts. So, all in all, loads to do right there. Only one restaurant nearby; most are on the other side of the peninsula, about 10 minutes away and a pretty drive. Lots of other stuff in the area of course. We had a great time, and the price was reasonable. Again, off season. Staff were great, at the desk, cleaning, breakfast. Easy to find, plenty of parking. We'd come back.

Reviews were great so we quickly pulled the trigger! Check in process was super simple. You can check in on the app and you can actually pick your room. Since we have never stayed here before, we didn't have a preference so we let them pick. We quickly verified the ID at the front desk and we were on our way to our room. Receptionist were both very friendly and even offered us waters. They do have hot coffee and hot water for tea/hot chocolate available 24/7 in the lobby. They also have a 24/7 store at the desk with sooo many snacks and drink options! They have multiple TVs, sittting areas and shuffle board/foosball in the lobby, which we saw lots of people enjoying. Our room was spacious. Plenty of room for storage. It smelled fresh and clean. The shower was perfect size, just wish the water was a bit warmer. My boyfriend has been raving about the hand soap since the second he tried it (it's a great scent!). They have hand soap, body lotion, conditioner, shampo, body wash all hanging on the wall for your convenience. Our king bed was very comfy and the AC worked perfectly in our room. The breakfast was probably the best hotel breakfast I have ever eaten. So many options! I opt for the cheese egg omelets, sausage patties, and pancakes. Plenty of toppings for your pancakes, as well as toppings for yogurt and oatmeal too. Large variety of breads and carbs. It was perfect before a long day at Cedar Point! All staff was so nice and welcoming during our entire stay. Pet friendly!
