A few minutes later she appeared with a business card asking if we were going to stay this year or next?!! Wtf?! She also told us not to park where we did, it was a private driveway. Seriously? How would you know that? There were NO signs pertaining to this. It was a driveway made for 6 cars! First impressions are very important and this place wasn't warm, inviting or friendly. We would NEVER stay in a place like this!!! Seriously the worst experience ever. I wish we could give this place a negative star!

It has electric outlets right where you need them, all the kitchen tools and items we needed, the AC and ceiling fans kept it nice and cool on one of the hottest weeks of the year, the screened in porch offered a great place to read and watch the sunsets, the beds were comfortable and the towels were nice and fluffy. Jeff and Judy were great hosts, offering right on point ideas for places to eat and visit. The location is great, right across the street from the lake so great views and only a few minutes from all the cool places to go.

The inn was comfortable with plenty of seating on the first floor for chatting. They have fire pit just across the street by the lake. We spent a couple of hours enjoying the nice weather and fire with Cedar Point off in the distance. Our room was cozy and well appointed. We had a super comfy bed and our own bathroom with shower. Sheets and blanket were perfect. Breakfasts were delicious and meticulously made with ingredients from their garden. My favorite was the frittata with veggies. Coffee, tea and water available 24/7. A nice place we'd happily return to on our next trip to the island.

Tricia's delicious cooking and baking was one of the highlights of the weekend, and home made afternoon sangria was such a treat. I even left the island with one of her recipes for a yummy quiche! The location overlooking the lake is beautiful and they have a private dock at the edge of the water that we really enjoyed sitting on. The rooms are very quaint and filled with antiques. They did not have central air conditioning in the room, so if you like to control the temperature please make note of that. The second floor rooms do seem to get a little warm, but we turned on the fan and opened the windows to catch a lake breeze. The property is about one mile from the ferry marina and the downtown area. A lovely on-island stay.

Entry was free, but in season there is apparently a charge. Parking is tight all around, but there are a few street spots and a big lot at the park right by the "business district." Avery's is a local favorite, and they have really improved the quality of food and service at the Hotel. The Sunday brunch is great, and they have very good perch meals. They are only open from Memorial Day through Labor Day, but the views of the lake make this a great stop!

First impression? Let's just say I felt like one of their grandchildren--- adopted grandchild from the city of Chicago who just wanted to break into tears in their arms and be told everything was going to be okay. - Stayed 2 nights in "Room 2"- faced the lake where we were able to watch the sunset...also had more windows, a canopy bed and a more modern decor. - Each bedroom had a private bathroom which was a PLUS! They also have a 2-bedroom cottage that they rent out next door. - Small TVs w/ VHS players in rooms (I know! VHS!). they had a bunch of VHS tapes in the hallway aka their VHS library. I kind of thought that had a really cute feel to it...really made me feel like a kid again. Just a great feeling to get away from it all into this B&B and keep things stress-free and SIMPLE! - Right across the street from the lake! Also just a few minutes away to Nagoya (habachi dinner) and Mon Ami Winery (seafood buffet and winetasting!). - Hosts provided us w/ maps and recommendations for restaurants- not much to do in Port Clinton in the middle of October but we made the most of it! - Jerry baked for us every morning! Breakfast was great consisting of fresh fruits, sausage links, french toast, homemade waffles, muffins between the two nights all served on really cute gold lined plates! - They have a massage lady that comes in by appointment, but she wasn't available when we needed her so we ended up getting massages in downtown Port Clinton. Overall a very homey experience! I shall return for a relaxing weekend of my own :). Maybe for the next winetasting event in Port Clinton?! Would love to stay here over the summer and get some writing/reading done.
