I feel especially blessed & fortunate to have been sent by my family physician to Dr. Kevin L. Rakszawski. I expected that I would get a good doctor, but was blown away by Dr. Rakszawski and his colleagues/team. They treated me and my wife and our concerns with the utmost respect and dignity. They infused humor into a difficult process, and put us at ease. We were, frankly, scared. We didn't say so, but indubitably, he was aware. His knowledge, his calmness, and his bedside manner are second to none. I would HIGHLY recommend him and his team to anyone who needs to see a competent, thoroughly on top of the state of his/her profession professional. He zeroed right into our issue immediately, and was an excellent quarterback for the process we had to go through. My son is tangentially in the medical field in another state, and has access to physicians' ratings/education/experience nationwide. I asked him to look up Dr. Rakszawski and let me know what he found. Our son had wanted me to go to the Mayo Clinic, but after looking into Dr. Rakszawski and his rating from his peers/colleagues, he said, "Dad, it looks like you've found the best, stay with Rakszawski." I did and we are very glad and most grateful to him and his wisdom, technique, and sincere desire to help his patients. On a scale of 1 to 10, he is way off the scale, the best of the best.

Everything was explained they gave me some medication to take before the procedure. The day of the procedure everything was done as scheduled they wheeled me into the surgery room but RIGHT BEFORE i was to go under Anesthesia they had me sign a waiver of damages. If they screwed up i could not file suit. Yeah i signed it because they stopped working in order me sign it. So i got the impression they were not going to move until it sign it. When i looked back I should have refused it...but you do not know what to do its a shock. The doctor was clearly going to sit there and wait for you to sign it. The doctor literally pushed the pen in my hand. This is a bad practice to do this to people. When I think back i could have died on the table and nothing would have been done to the people that killed me or misdiagnosed. He could literally misdiagnose and their would be nothing i could say about it. They do not tell you if it is optional and I believe it is. The should have presented this the first day so it could be explained... they are not going to do that.

Now...the initial appointment may take a "minute" to get, but once you become a Hopkins patient you are in! They link to your Hopkins Primary care and other Specialist. All are linked with a database called MY CHART which allows test results, questions, medical records, etc to be centralized. The chemo room (if you need it) hopefully you won't, but is small and quiet. They have private curtains and some private rooms. The nurses are all really nice. The number one positive is the Doctors. The level of intelligence will blow you away. These Doctors are trained and they are constantly researching new methods. If you need a miracle....I personally think they can help. The only minus star..as it seems in all medical offices..is that the Receptionist are not super friendly. For some reason, I am finding this the norm. Overall...I would take this location over downtown any day!

The location is beautiful and there are beautiful sunrises, sunsets and adorable deer to admire daily. Prior to being admitted, I was at a hospital in PA. I was not given much information about the program. There was a beautiful Cardinal that was perched in a tree when I arrived at the gate in a taxi. That helped me realize I was in the right place at the right time. Thank you. Much more to come.... There are so Many well-planned and thorough experiential activities. There's a ropes course, and very cool team building activities in the "barn". There is yoga once a week, somatic healing, trauma therapy, and an incredibly helpful Dialectal behavioral Therapy (DBT) four-week course/therapy processing etc. Cognitive Behavioral therapy (CBT) is also utilized. Additionally, some very cool drama therapy sessions are sprinkled throughout the schedule. The food is good and the culinary team is very friendly (and talented). Provisions are made for vegetarians and those with food intolerances, etc. The staff and leadership team are stellar. The nurses are excellent and they genuinely care. I really found the psychiatric nurse practitioner (Nicole) to be extremely helpful and extremely knowledgeable about medications. If you are interested, a non-denominational Sunday service is streamed and available for viewing. (The website for the ranch is extremely informative.) While I was at The Ranch, I was experiencing night terrors most nights. The nursing team and the behavioral health techs (BHTs) really demonstrated empathy and concern. Once a week, a staff member makes a nicotine/postsge/Target run. They have lists you can fill out and as long as you have a credit card on file, you're good to shop. Amazon orders may be sent by family, etc. If you need to place an amazon order yourself, you can request that your assigned therapist assist you. Cell phones aren't available - there are phones in each cabin. Every day, you may sign up for "phone time." You may keep snacks in a closet within your cabin. Everything must be nut-free. If you are wanting to have a watch with you, make sure it doesn't have camera access. Regular watches and kids basic digital watches work.

The amount of times I've laughed with them after an appointment is worth a couple stars by itself. They always help me out when I call and have really put in overtime on some of my family's referrals and appointments. I think it's unfair that they have one single review, and that it's so terrible. I suggest you find another medical group and not use these doctor's because of him. It is a shame because there are good doctor's there but he will step on their feet and over rule their treatment plan's whenever he feel's like it.
