Every time I've come to this DMV, the person working at the front desk is lovely and sets a wonderful tone for the morning as she organizes people to get to where they're going. She's a positive influence on the people around her and those waiting in line. I've always had wonderful greetings from the people at the service desks who take care of your license or help you with getting your kids drivers license. I've always had positive experiences. I'm so grateful to have this DMV close to my house. read more

Got there at 8:30 left at 4:30. There's never not a line. The staff was lovely but I've never seen a place work so inefficiently. They need 30 more people on staff. Disabled people sitting on the floor for 8 hours waiting to be seen. No way to leave. Fights breaking out all day. 8 hour wait just isn't ethical there has to be a better way. I came in today to take my drivers test and I will say the staff that worked inside were so professional and sweet and took great care of me and in a timely manner. Everything was great until I dealt with the driver instructor Chamir or however you spell it. He failed me apparently due to failure of me turning on my turn signals when parking but instead of ending the test there like he said he would If I failed, he continued onto the road test. Once I hit the break a little too hard he told me to turn into a lot and said I failed. We went back to the penndot where my stepfather showed a recording of me turning on my blinkers during the parking portion and he then switched his reasoning for me failing. He told me my "turning was suspect" and that I don't know how to turn. He also told my stepdad that I was talking too much to him and not focusing enough when I only spoke to ask him questions to have clarification on directions. He then walked away after trying to belittle my driving and started smoking his vape on the property in front of the customers. He's very unprofessional and I will be reporting this to corporate or whomever needs to hear because no one should be spoken to like that or treated that way when they're trying to obtain their license read more

I arrived at 8:25 when they open at 8:30. There was a decent line. They opened the doors at 8:30 and I was through and had a number by 9. I was renewing my license and having my documents verified for real ID. All that was done and picture taken by 9:25. All 3 people i interacted with we friendly and great. read more

The most incompetent people I think I've ever seen. Lebanon penndot messes up does not renew my license when I add hazmat to it last year. Then tries to make me take the hazmat test and pay for it again when it's good for five years get fingerprinted again pay for that which is good for five years when I did both last year and they didn't renew my license to go five years from that date and keep on changing the story. Then tell me again I do not have to retest. All I have to do is renew and it good for four years until my fingerprinting and hazmat go out of date. And every time you go into one of them, it's a big old long wait to hear you have to test again. After spending countless amount of time to make them admit their mistake and make sure I didn't have to pay for something I already paid for last year that's supposed to be good for five years. Yet here I am at PennDOT again ( for the fourth time ) being told well you gotta take the test when I was told all I have to do is come in and renew. read more

Just like Dee M., I was here on a rainy Monday morning at 11am. Unlike Dee, I did not make it out in 10mins... more like 50mins! So apprently I was driving around on an expired license for the past three months. Oops. In this time, I boarded FOUR domestic flights with license as ID, and no one told me it had expired. As P.E. said, this location (which years ago was part of Acme, then a liquor store) is a LOT better than the old Bortondale DMV. Bortondale was a hole. Dark, dirty, neglected, lighting like a bad horror movie. You used to have to stand in line, out the door, no chairs, yuk! The driving course was tough because it was old, creepy, cramped and poorly marked! I flunked twice on the road exam, they didn't properly plow the parallel parking spot (winter b-days are harder tests). Now, you have a large parking lot course, which has much better light, visibility, and clear markings. Only distraction might be people watching you perform as they pass on 352, or yonder in the Promenade parking lot. Inside, it's clean and bright, with tons of seating, and a deli number system that is much more efficient and helpful. There are 3 waiting sections (not sure what the other two are -- new licensees, and something else), to divide by purpose, and make for more efficient processing. DMV. The 7th circle of hell. If I could give it a 0 star rating or even negative 1, i would. Every employee here we have dealt with has been rude, completely ignorant and utterly incompetent. When I took my drivers test, the lady who worked with us was a total jackass. She refused to get in our car because there was "dog hair". This is impossible because my grandparents do not own any pets, and we had to use their car since my parents car was getting inspected. She made us clean the seat then re enter the testing line. When it was our turn to go again, she first stood about 10 feet in front of our car and told me to use my lights and my "herz"????but I could not hear her because she was speaking in some otherworldly form of English. She then got in the car and continued to direct me. I literally told her I have no idea what the hell she was saying, then she abruptly failed me. Me and my dad just left after that. In summary, she was a complete dumbass who is incapable of her job. You'd have a better chance teaching a fucking hamster how to do that job correctly. Now, almost 3 years later, I was here with my sister getting her an ID. We got here around 2:40, and left at about 5:37. There was only about 5 other people in the facility with at least 6 workers. This is why your parents tell you don't drop out of school kids. Every moment I spend at the DMV is a moment I pray someone ends my suffering, because I will never be going back to this place unless I have to take my own children, if you enjoy your peace, do not go to the DMV unless absolutely required. I do not even write bad reviews, because I know it's hard being an employee sometimes, but the utter lack of respect, total un interest in their own "customers" and shitty attitude warrant a bad review for this place. In conclusion, id rather jump into oncoming traffic then deal with the dmv again. read more

I went on a Wednesday morning around 9:30 with my "camera card", to get my pic taken for my new license.The lady at the door desk seemed genuinely interested in helping people, such as the immigrant family in front of me. Another staffer then called us out of line if we had camera cards, so we could skip the long wait for processing application paperwork. I waited for 10-15 minutes to be called to the camera desk, because as soon as the staffer at the desk had finished with the person before me, she disappeared for a 10-minute break. The photo process then took about 10 minutes. So total time taken from arrival to departure was about 25 minutes. This was certainly better than my previous visit in 2019 to apply for a Real ID, which took about four hours. My new license arrived in the mail in about six days. read more

This will be my 6th license as I move a lot and I have to say the easiest if all. Staff super friendly and helpful. I went to change my out of state license and the process took less than 30 minutes on a Saturday afternoon. They give you an interim DL And in less than a week I got my PA license. Lovely! Was here on a Tuesday morning, right after Memorial Day weekend at around 8.45/ 8.50.. found parking easily and very close to the door (it was raining so it was important to me haha).. got in, took a ticket and took a seat.. within 10 mins or so they called my ticket number. The person working there was so kind! I had a couple of questions and he answered me very patiently.. Then I was off to the next counter to get my pic taken. Overall, less than 30 mins, and I was on my way home! Best PennDOT experience ever!! read more

Yes, long lines and it's the DMV, but they have a good system during COVID and the employees are great. Everyone was friendly and we had good conversation. Clear directions and helpful employees. I liked that while I waited outside in the long line an employee came by to check I had the correct documents so that I didn't get inside and not be prepared. Where do I even begin? The waiting is a mess and the people at the reception desk can't get anyone through. The permit test is a complete waste of time and anyone can get 100% with their eyes closed and if your over 18, you don't have to take it. do they think that people over 18 don't need to know the rules of the road? Absolutely disgraceful. I would be able to overlook all of this with a fair drivers test. The test is completely unrealistic and the tester just sits their and takes notes on you as if your some sort of animal. terrible service in Huntingdon Valley, PA I was there 12/29/2021 .the woman in the entrance was so angry, that she ripped her hair ....that my children are not supposed to do ID due to immigration status. (professor), only after the green card, but why do we need ID if there is a green card. and even screamed that they won't let us in and won't let us through. I waist the time and went to Bensalem. they opened a some documents , see our immg. Status, they didn't even ask unnecessary questions and did it right away. Please change her to a someone pleasant or nervously healthy person. She was screaming some man too. there are always problems for everyone there. horrible read more

I was going to give this a five star rating, but sorry PennDOT. We got in for a drivers Permit, got helped within 5 minutes by a funny and helpful guy, took the test and then found one piece of info was missing on the physical. By the time I called the doctor to get it (2 minutes) all four people working had left for lunch at the same time. What could have been a total of 15 minutes here has now turned into 45 and counting...until they are back from lunch. Can't they stagger the schedule?? read more

ZERO Stars!!! Took time off of work on a Tuesday to get my license renewed. Drove 30 minutes to get there. When I walked in, I was greeted with a very long line and a very rude woman at the front desk. She wasn't even giving out numbers because she said "the system was down". This information was not posed any where or given to me when I called to verify if they were open! When I asked what they could do for me because I have taken time off of work for this she said, "come back tomorrow". I. WAS. FUMING. This was the best experience I've had at any penndot in the last 20 years. Once I got past the front door, which took forever because the couple in front of me was arguing with the lady with the tickets, I sat down. My number was called immediately. The man who helped me was super friendly and went out of his way to explain something to me that I was going to ask but he beat me to it. When we finished I went to wait for my ID. They messed up absolutely everything ive ever needed to use them for and i mean everything. From losing my car title twice then telling me it was an r title and needed an inspection done, which they lost the record of when i had it done And submitted. that lost me over $25,000 right there alone. But do i get compensated for that major major screw up, absolutely not. Then just run around issues left and right with license issues and other titles that just never show up. And you can never get help from a real person. Now as of june 14th the automated system hangs up on yoh when you request a live person. If we are forced to use penndot i think we should atleast receive decent treatment which is absolutely not the case. You be better off titling your vehicles in a different state. read more

I went to this DMV to get a Real I.D. for my Pa. drivers license renewal. I was not born in Pennsylvania so my birth certificate is different. When I presented my documentation. I was told by the girl checking these items and her supervisor that my birth certificate had been "altered" and denied me. I had used this very same certificate to get Pa License when I moved to Pa. Plus I used it for a passport and TWIC card. I went to another DMV and got my renewal with no problems. Obviously the supervisor and girl clearly do not know their job and are not competent. Terrible location. Didn't accept my lease as documentation of my new address because it wasn't physically signed. Many things are done 100% online and it was digitally signed online. Apparently it is not good enough and needs to be physically signed. It's ridiculous that they didn't accept it and I need to come back at another time when I'm already missing work for this. They misspelled my name and told me they couldn't correct it unless I had a birth certificate, social security card and 2 forms of mail with my name on them because a social security card isn't enough to identify someone anymore. New resident license took three hours. I can't even type everything out that happened but the old stereotypes about the DMV are completely applicable. I followed all the instructions and had everything ready in my hands when I arrived, and it still took three hours. Once they finally took my application (almost two hours waiting), I waited an entire hour to be called to the photo counter. Such a shame it has to be this way. read more

This Penndot is in a great location for me so it is typically where I go when I need to get something done. It's a very well organized place but you usually do have to wait for quite some time. Got in an out pretty quickly a few days ago though. Once we got to the counter, it only took a few minutes to get an ID card made. read more

Much better location than the old Bortondale location where the line for a permit would often go out the door on a Saturday afternoon. The wait for the permit process can still be long but on a Friday afternoon the wait was short. Just remember to bring a check or money order because cash and plastic are not accepted. read more
