Everyone was polite and professional except the guy at the front desk when you first come in. African American, older, bullet proof vest on, (smart). He first directed us to where we need to wait. My wife asked me to get her a copy of form that was at desk due to a mistake. Went up and got YELLED at, everyone heard, This is a government facility and I should not touch anything on the table. Responded politely asking if he was deaf, why yell, no sigh saying not to touch anything on the table .Held my temper, rare. Told him what i needed, no help. I should have reminded him we as taxpayers pay his salary as well as any papers in the building. He yelled so loud I asked him if he was talking to me since I was two feet away. I felt adventurous today and veered to explore if I manage to renew my license in the span of the lunch break. I was pleasantly surprised at the size of this DMV location. More importantly, I was surprised how efficiently from start to finish I was able to complete the process in less than 30-40 minutes. Had a horrible experience with driving evaluator, Larry. I waited until after I graduated college and bought a car to move forward with getting my license due to insurance cost, so I've had a learners permit for years, and I drive almost every day, 12 miles to and from my workplace, and other places. Larry refused to give me directions on which way to turn until I got *to* the stop sign. Then he failed me for not indicating my turn 100ft in advance. He then got out of *my* car that I own, at 22 years old, stood beside my dad, and read my list of faults off to my father, and not me. He then asked me if I was older than 18. I said I was 22. It was so demeaning and disrespectful. read more

Who gives the DMV five stars?? I honestly did not expect to! They've made the process a lot less painful. I waited in line outside until they opened the doors at 8:30am. There were about 30 people ahead of me in line. When I got in, I saw that they now have someone sitting up front helping people choose the correct ticket for what they came here for. I got ticket A157 and they started at A150 - not bad. I waited for about five minutes for my number to be called. Dominick helped me get my new license. He was very pleasant and easy going. He did a great job taking my picture and printing out my new fancy PA license card. I think this experience has reduced my fear of going to the DMV! read more

I've never seen such a poorly run operation. A three hour wait to get called for a permit test. The site is fully staffed, but at any given time only about half of the employees are helping anyone. Their processes are beyond broken. Incredibly inefficient. It seems like many of the staff don't know their jobs and have to continually consult with each other to figure out what to do. Of course, you don't really have any choice on whether to come or not. You are obligated to this bureaucratic hell. read more

I went in this afternoon to get my drivers license upgraded to REAL ID. First, if REAL ID is why you are going to the drivers license center, be sure to get beforehand the list of required documents from the PennDOT website. There's no point in going to the local office if you don't have your documents in hand and ready ... if you don't have the right ones, they can't give you a REAL ID. Check-in is easy. Let the guy at the front desk know your are there fro REAL ID (button 7 on the check-in kiosk). He then handed me two forms to fill out while I was waiting ... one for REAL ID, and one to extend my current license. Give yourself some time ... these are busy offices with a lot of foot traffic. I went on a weekday afternoon; the office was steadily busy. I probably waited 20-25 minutes to be called. Once I got to the desk of Bob, it took less than more 10 minutes. Also, while getting a REAL ID, I was also able to extend my current drivers license ... so renewal is now 2024 rather than 2020. Hope this helps ...! read more

I had my driver's license test today and both of the ladies who were instructors were very kind and nice. I had a white lady, who treated me with kindness. I asked all sorts of questions and she answered them swiftly and with detail. She asked me all of the basic vehicle controls and soonly, the parallel parking test came. I almost failed but she encouraged me that I can do it. I soon passed the parallel parking test and then the street portion came. The street portion of the test was very easy for me. After I turned to the front of the driver's license center, she looked at my father, gave him a thumbs-up, then told me, let's go in and get your license! After I got into the DMV, she gave me my ticket, A198. After they called my number, the person congratulated me on passing the exam and took my picture for my license. I strongly recommend going to Malvern DMV, for scheduling your driver's license test. They try to be swift as possible and they are always very kind. read more

When you go in expect to wait 30mins- an hour. Never take your driver's test here. They have a little trick that they will fail you on if they don't like you. Here's the trick. The stop sign when exiting the shopping center has no white line in front of it. read more

I took the entire afternoon off and went to this location with all the documents to get a Real ID. The gentleman at the door told me I needed a certified marriage certificate. I drove to the courthouse, paid $15 to get a certified marriage certificate. When I came back, the new person at door said it wasn't needed because I had a passport. I wasted a ton of time and money for their incompetence! Visiting this location is ALWAYS a horrible experience! read more

Tired taking a road test here. Driving instructor was rude and judgmental about my age. She talked down to me like I was 16 years old still. I've only had a permit so long because I took a year away jointing the army and doing all the training. Plus she looked at the registration and said, "I don't know what that is." On October 27th I went to the DMV in Frazer. I wanted to obtain my real ID and I mistakenly thought I was also getting my PA registration renewed. Bob Devine took such good care of me!! I cannot express how frustrated I am with this DMV location. I have gone there FOUR time-consuming and irritating times for a Real ID, and I still don't have one! Although I had all my documents each time I went, and they looked at each document each time, I was turned away every time because one of them was not acceptable. Not once after reviewing every document did the guy at the front tell me each of the other three were unacceptable also! They made me jump hoops for over a year now. The latest was standing outside in the long cold line, to get to the front and the reviewer once again said all was correct and fine.. move inside for 40 minutes and told ONCE AGAIN one of the documents wasn't acceptable! I'm an adult and the bearded guy spoke to me like I was some 16 year old. Barking orders at me to hand over my license and registration. I get it, your job sucks but I didn't make you work there. Never have I been in the 6 states that I've lived to a more efficient, friendly, fast-serving DMV such as this one! I so applaud their efforts that I specifically came on Yelp to make sure word got out about the excellent work the staff at this DMV is doing. I was in and out from renewing my license in under 15 minutes, I was stunned. If I could give it no stars I would! The workers here are RUDE and are no help what so ever! I took my child there to get a permit. They were RUDE to my child and even though they passed could not have been more miserable to us! We did nothing wrong and were treated HORRIBLE! The kids in my area that have to take their driving test purposely choose a different location further away because the tester's have been so rude and fail kids that when go to a different location, pass. I arrived at this location 10 minutes before closing on a Wednesday. They took me in right away, I had to run over to Rite Aide for a money order (they don't accept cash or credit card). Now 5 minutes before closing and I managed to get my license renewed immediately. They were friendly, personable, and professional! Now I know to go to the DMV in Malvern close to closing when it's not crowded. I needed a form for a friend that wasn't on hand and the manager got one of his employees to print it off the website for me. He didn't have to and I appreciate it. I had a pretty awful experience at this place. The tester had my permit and we forgot to get it from him, so I admit that it was our fault.
