Roads out of City Hall face North South West East onto various major streets . City Hall serves as a compass of sorts.

Love the Ardmore Free Library. It is small but they are very helpful and they make the most of…read moretheir limitations. They kids section in the basement is a huge hit with my kids and even their daycare comes for story time occasionally. I'd donate money to them but my wife more than makes up for that with the amount of fines we pay for late returns. Not enough wonderful things can be said about their staff. Always helpful, always kind... So happy to have them as a cornerstone of our community.

Dating back to 1926, the Ardmore Library is small, charming and the oldest in the county. Despite its size, you're not restricted by what's there; you can go online and reserve books from any local branch. Two things in particular struck me: 1) if there's no hold on a book, it automatically renews -- with a few exceptions -- after three weeks. Apparently, this will happen twice. 2) you can go to the library and get free three-day passes to participating museums and gardens. Have a back-up, since there are a limited number of passes, sometimes only one per library per venue. The people working here are very nice and in a city where one should know how to parallel park -- that wouldn't be me! -- the library has a parking lot.

Nice views of the creek below. I highly recommend visiting all three in Eastern Maryland. No exact address but Google Maps (Foxcatcher Farms Covered Bridge, Strahorn's Mill, Tawes Drive, Elkton, MD) will take you right there.

A beautiful little park in the middle of central Philadelphia…read more The Saturday Farmers Market brought in tons of families, well dressed couples, and of course dogs! We had so much fun checking out all the stalls, soaking in the sunshine, and running around the inner sections with our kiddos. They had a little jazz trio playing in the middle of the square and they brought so much joy to our day. Even my two year old was dancing her socks off. I love little spots like this that bring the community out. Highly recommend for a stop if you're in Philly!

The marker is in good condition and reads, "Three famous actors, Philadelphia-born, were the third generation of this "Royal Family of the American Stage." Lionel (1878-1954), Ethel (1879-1959), and John (1882-1942) performed on stage, screen, radio. Their grandparents, the Drews, managed the Arch St. Theatre here." And yes, the John Barrymore mentioned is grandfather of current movie star Drew Barrymore (E.T.: The Extra-Terrestrial, Charlie's Angels, Scream, The Wedding Singer). I was happy to see the new shiny location, but it is smaller as compared to the 9th Street location. The staff are friendly and helpful and it doesn't get too crowded usually. This location also has a passport office to complete that process, it appears that you need to call ahead to set-up those appointments.
