Whenever i get a mani here, I never have to worry that my nails won't last for the full four weeks until I'm back. I have found that the few times I've strayed from coming here, my nails chip, get cracked and don't last nearly as long! I tend to go here every four weeks or so to get my nails done. The techs are very friendly and at this point know me by name. They have soooo many gel color options. I oftentimes find it difficult to choose between all the colors! I personally have never had an issue here regardless of who my nail tech is. I've also gotten pedicures and find those to be enjoyable as well. Many times, I will ask them to do the gel color on my toes so that it stays longer. All in all, I highly recommend Avalon as an excellent salon for your next mani/pedi. They are the best!

I can't believe this place has such bad reviews overall…read more I've been here twice in a pinch without looking at the reviews, and I feel like it was definitely a 4 or 4.5 star experience both times. The first time the woman was so fast it was amazing! I was in a hurry and she made my service work for me in the perfect amount of time (45 mins for a balance). My only complaint that time was that the mani wasn't quite as close to my cuticle line as I wanted it to be and it shortened the life of my mani by 4 or 5 days because it looked grown out more quickly. Otherwise, the polish that time looked good and I was pretty happy with my bright red nails. This time, I was with a different guy and had a different shape and I wasn't in a rush. I really liked the color-changing polish options they have. So fun! I went with a smokey violet that turns into sky blue option. I had a coffin shape that needed some correcting, and honestly it's more consistent and more to my liking now than any shaping I have had recently-- I'm picky so the overall shape is something I pay a lot of attention to and if it's not right it bothers me until it's fixed. The polish application isn't quite perfect-- there's a tiny bit of spill over here and there onto my cuticle edge. It's super minimal and probably only I would notice, but it's not perfect and spillover onto the cuticle eventually can cause lifting/chipping as the mani grows out. We'll see how it looks in a week or two, but so far so good. I have had a better experience here in the last few months than I have at any other place I have been to more than once, and all other places had better reviews. I will go back to this place without hesitation any time I am at Easton and have time. Most people have a hard time speaking up when they notice something off, and they are thus setting the nail tech up for failure. If you see something, say something!

One lady started my water for my feet. She never turned it off and when I put my feet in, water went all over the place, and they treated me like it was my fault. Trying to be cordial, I apologized even though it wasn't my fault, and they just ignored me and started talking to each other, and although we couldn't understand them, from their mannerisms and tone it was pretty clear they were talking quite negatively about us. And the water was scalding hot. It burned. It burned her when she was trying to get the water to drain... She couldn't get her hands in it. I guess she got her revenge for having to clean up all the water by giving me one of the most painful experiences of my life - it was like medieval torture. When she was trimming the nails, she went way up along the sides under the cuticle, and it felt like someone jabbing bamboo under my toenails. And not just for a second, but for a prolonged time. When she had the grinder, she proceeded to grind not only the front of the toenails, but the fresh, tender skin underneath that had just been exposed. I actually had to pull my foot away and tell her to stop. With every new instrument she brought out, it seems she found some way to cause excruciating pain with it. The other lady did a rush job on my friend. He was finished way before I was. When we asked for color, they acted like they were being bothered. The lady working on my friend had to come back to do his. When they asked what color, they asked my friend what color he wanted, rushed off without asking me what color I wanted and acted exasperated when I ask for a different color. Somehow she made painting my toenails painful. I'm not ticklish, I don't have feet problems, and have a pretty decent threshold for pain - there is no reason that this should have been such a painful ordeal. The final result of the polish on my toenails was just, "meh"... Nothing great. Gaps between the polish and my cuticle. What was supposed to be a relaxing, calming experience ended up feeling like punishment.
