To Whom It May Concern, I am disappointed with the handling of my vehicle's A/C repair at Pep Boys #1660 in Newnan, GA. On February 26, 2026, I paid approximately $1,570.36 to repair my A/C system. At no time was I informed of any condenser issues, possible system contamination, or the likelihood that additional related components might need replacement. Less than two months later, on April 23, 2026, the A/C failed again, and I was presented with another estimate of approximately $1,263.38 to replace the condenser. Given how soon the problem returned, I am concerned that the original diagnosis may not have fully addressed the underlying issue. I believe I should have been informed of any potential contamination or related component concerns during the initial repair. I am also disappointed that no consideration has been given for reduced labor costs or other accommodation despite the repeat failure occurring so soon after the original service. Took my vehicle to have 4 tires replaced. I had an employee of mine pick the vehicle up at which time he noticed that one of the center caps was missing. My employee spoke with the manager on duty at the time and my employee was told that the vehicle came in that way. The manager said that they were unable to install the damaged center cap and that it was driven in that way. It was clearly not driven in that way and the damage was never noted in the work order. I had my employee leave and went back the next day to speak with the manger and to show the manager the damage. Again, the manager was adamant that the vehicle was driven in that way. The manager refused to look at the center cap and see that it was clearly removed with a screwdriver. I already ordered the new center cap before I spoke with the manager and only wanted them to at the very least acknowledge that it was damaged while it was in their shop. The customer service was so poor that I have contacted corporate to have the issue escalated. I have purchased several sets of tires from this same location and have never been treated so poorly. I will add to the negative reviews ... 4 new tires purchased ... 3 days later enroute to Christmas with my family ... flat tire on I75 at 1030 pm ... rode the spare to a hotel ... in the AM...nearest tire store with the right size swapped it out ...and they stated in writing that the valve stem was old and ripped leading to flat and run flat damage... The stem is ALWAYS replaced with new tires ... except here apparently. They refused to refund the cost of one tire ... remember the tire was 3 DAYS OLD ... Not only was I told no refund would be given ... I was made to feel like somehow I was to blame for not wanting to find another PepBoys store though I did call and they had not my size of course ... Even then, why would I go to Pep Boys AGAIN after they screwed it up the first time?? The manager ... omg ... I rarely gripe about ANYthing but this guy ... No positive qualities whatsoever. went to the this location for a while. recently I have been getting told things were wrong with my car that is incorrect. this past time they told me brakes were almost metal to metal and they were charged like over 300 bucks for it. I declined as I wanted to get a second opinion. thankfully I did. upon getting the second opinion I still have 50% left of my brake pads. I guess they thought I wouldn't double check their work. wrong. not only that they charged over 100 bucks to change a bulb in my headlight because it was labor intensive however we able to reach it and change it within 5 minutes. they also always forget or don't reset after you have an oil change and I always have to do it. I brought my vehicle in to have some minor mechanical work quoted. I needed the intake VVT solenoid replaced. I knew it would be a relatively inexpensive repair because The OEM list price on the part is around $55, aftermarket alternatives are around $40. It's an easy operation too, remove the engine appearance cover and pop it in, maybe 1-1.5 labor hours. I was surprised to find Pep Boys quoted me almost $500 to do the job. They were going to charge me $120 for an aftermarket part which is over twice the OEM list and over 3 times the aftermarket list price. They were also pressuring me to replace both the intake and exhaust solenoids even though the exhaust solenoid was functioning perfectly, each at $120 per part. I knew something was very wrong with the pricing this guy was trying to pitch to me so I pulled my car from the shop. I called 3 other reputable shops in the area and they all quoted me half the price, around $205-$215 to do the same work (using OEM parts no less). Much more reasonable. When I also pushed back on the pricing the guy at Pep Boys told me that the OEM intake solenoid was on back order with no ETA. I called the dealer myself and confirmed Union City had 7 in stock and another nearby dealer had 12 in stock. I learned a valuable lesson to avoid Pep Boys moving forward and I cannot in good conscience recommend this business. read more

I have gone to this place twice and never will bring my vehicles again. Completely lacks professionalism and was extremely passive aggressive when it came to dealing with me. I brought my car in just recently, to give them a second chance, as the first experience wasn't that great, only to have to deal with them trying to charge me for a tire rotation. I tried to tell the person that I shouldn't have to pay for one as the website was very clear on the front that the tire rotation came with the oil change. His response was well that wasn't the coupon that you gave me. I need the proper coupon. After trying to show him on the site and going back and forth I finally said I would pay for the tire rotation in which he said don't worry about it we'll take care of you. Through the process they informed me of everything that needs to be done to my car in which I responded that I had a mechanic that I deal with personally for all that stuff. He than responded that they can do all that to. It seemed after I wouldn't fall for their up charges that they couldn't get me out the door quick enough. As they finished my oil change he walked me out the door and handed me the keys and wouldn't let me pay. I told him I wanted to pay for the services that I wasn't looking for a free ride and his response was no that it wasn't even worth the time in writing it up. Extremely passive aggressive and left me feeling as if my business was a waste of their time. I contacted this location after dealing with the Union City Pep Boys and their dishonest employees. I purchased brand new tires at Union City Pep Boys a short while ago. One of the tires needed repair as it had a nail in it. Union City reps told me I needed a brand new tire at $144. Feeling uncomfortable with paying for a new tire when I had just bought the ones I have, I decided to contact the Newnan Pep Boys location. Kevin answered and asked me to come in so he could diagnose my tire problem and advise next steps. I did. I sat in the waiting area for like 15 minutes expecting him to reiterate that I need a new tire, only for him to come and tell me that he actually fixed my tire and I was free to go. I thought a simple air inflation would fixed my problem so I decided to reach for the air house but Jay was walking by escorting another customer and said he would help me personally due to the weather and cars all over place. I told him that I'm headed out of town and that I could inflate the tires myself. It's a good thing that he helped me. It's my wife's car and I don't inspect it much. All of my tires were almost bald and I needed wiper blades. Us drivers take our cars for granted everyday but Jay and Charlie looked out for me. Been using Pep Boys for some time now and loved them. I had a warped break rotors turned in Marietta, GA for $150.00. I needed them done again and the Newnan Pep Boys wanted $385.00. For removing 8 bolts. That comes to $37.50 to remove each bolt. I called Binion Tires in Newnan and they are doing the whole job for $95.00. If you go to this Pep Boys expect to be ripped off! read more

Took my wife's car and my car in to have the tires balanced and rotated. The technician managed to gouge 7 out of the 8 wheels he touched. Completely unsatisfactory work on such a simple job. Yesterday They left my keys in my car and my car running with the windows down for 3 1/2 to 4 hours unattended. The worker had no idea where my keys were when I went to pick up my car. The three Stooges of tire service, if there was a contest for destruction of personal property and dishonesty these guys would win. Went there to get 2 new tires for the front of my car and they destroyed both front center caps. They busted the center out of the passenger side, and stripped the bolts out of the driver's side because it flew off going down the highway. When I picked the car up and confronted them about the passenger side they lied about it, and hassled me to replace the damage while I waited. They were horrible. I still haven't contacted them about the one that flew off leaving the shop because they were such total assholes about the whole deal, I'll just never buy anything again from Pep Boy's. read more

Disappointing that the store manager would charge me $35 for an extended warranty on the tune up for my truck without asking me. He never mentioned warranties at all. I'm prepping the truck to sell so obviously I would have declined a non-transferable warranty. When I returned and asked for a refund he tried to get me to keep the warranty and accept a "$50 oil change" in lieu of a refund. I understand managers have metrics to meet; like warranty attachment rates. But I'm betting pep boys expects their employees to use their selling skills to convince their customers of the value of the warranty; not to sneak it onto a 2 page invoice. If I have to watch my service provider that carefully I'm not likely to be a loyal customer. read more

Worst place for service. Took my car in to have a battery changed which in my car is under the drivers side fender well. After getting it home it started to overheat and leak antifreeze from around same area. Took it back and explained that I had no issues prior to bringing it there. They of course denied any wrong doing or mistake and said it would cost $533 to fix. I knew from a young age when I started driving to not trust pep boys and this just reconfirms that. I would ever let them work on my car again not even to change an air freshener hanging from the mirror. I have talked with pep boys since the other day and now they want me to pay to take it elsewhere and see if they can tell if it's pep boys fault. Said that I could take it to another one of their stores and they would pay to tow it there but if it's not their fault then I have to pay to tow it back. WOW they must think I was born yesterday cuz they will only side with the other pep boys. My car worked perfectly fine until they changed my battery and now I'm stuck having to fix it myself. I don't recommend that anybody take their car here if u want it fixed properly without additional costs to fix other things that they break in the process. Went there to have a low beam bulb installed and brakes checked. $19.95 for brake check was VERY reasonable and they didn't try to sell us anything. Honestly told us brakes were fine and would need rotors eventually. Bulb replacement including labor was $30 which was great considering how hard it was to do the last time we did DIY. The guys at Pep Boys are top notch. I had a tear in my low profile tire. They told me the tire was okay to drive in but I had them replace it anyway. They immediately earned my trust. I then brought my second car in and had an oil change, brakes and a balance and rotate done. I felt the staff was incredibly knowledgeable, discussed my cars needs and did a superior job on the work and in a timely manner. The waiting room was clean and comfortable. Long story short, had my car in around 5pm, told the guy at the counter I needed my brakes checked and a right rear tire replaced. So a little after 6pm he calls me and says that he suggest to replaces front and rear brake pads plus some work on my rotors. He continues to tell me that my rear tires are both worn out that he would replace them both but wait, if you buy three tires you get the fourth tire free, another $120 for the tire + mount and balance. Also that I will be able to have my tires rotated and balance with them for the life of the car (never mentioned having to buy that service). So for another $70-$75 on top of brakes, rotors, and tires I have a service contract more less with them plus I'm paying a little over $30 for shop fees. Total bill almost 1,000.00! I'm going to call tomorrow and ask about these additional fees. Also, FYI, I would have talked to him about all this if it wasn't after hours when I had to pick my car up. I had a leak in a tire no one could find. I went to Pep Boys this morning. They found the nail, fixed my tire, I was in and out in 15 minutes. Very nice professional clean place. I will go back to them when I need new tires. They also fixed my tire free of charge. What a good feeling that I no longer have to keep adding air to my tire and constantly checking it. The guys were very professional and honest. I went in for brakes and shocks on my truck and only ended up needing brakes. I was very happy that they didn't try to take advantage of me thinking I needed both for the sake of a sale. They also looked over the fluids and air filter and found that I needed a new one due to a mouse having tried to make it's new home under the hood of my truck. Just the day before I had gotten an oil change at another place and they had not only over charged me but obviously didn't even check the air filter! Horrible Experience! I will never return here again. I just waited 2 1/2 hours for a scheduled a/c quick check diagnostic. My air wasn't quite cold but not completely hot. It's Saturday, I understand it's busy. However every single customer that came in after me, left before me. If FREE Services too much for you then don't offer them. So, when they finally pulled my car to do the diagnosis (which took all of 5 minutes) the mechanic and the manager came to get me for the common dramatic diagnostic results. The manager (Marcus) starts asking me if I had it tested before or if me system had been charged, and how long have I had the car. Basically probing questions to see if I was knowledgeable. Then the mechanic says well it's PROBABLY the compressor. So Marcus says yes it's the compressor. So he draws up a quote to get a compressor through Peo Boys and the total is $2166.04. I wasn't born yesterday so I simply Googled the part and it was $156 through the dealership so I guess Labor would be $2000 dollars. I politely declined then Marcus tried to make me get their credit card. I said I don't want a credit card. He replies it's not a credit card, it doesn't have Visa or MasterCard on it, it says Synchrony. Clearly they think I am a fool because I am a young woman. Turns out I just needed a new Filter.
