I took my truck in for 4 new tires, oil change and front alinment, but when they got my truck up in the air they found so much more wrong with it. It needed new brakes in the fron (both sides) and brake caipers (both side) in the back, aircondition and fan belt both were craked fixing to break. They told me what all was wrong and promised me that they would take good care of me, I'm a single Mom of a 17 yr old softball player and depend on this truck to get me all over this state and some others for her tournaments, I also carry everybody to school everyday (as my grand kids call the truck) in the "Becky Bus" so she has to running in tip top shape and thats just what the guys at Pep Boys did put her back in shape, my ex husband never did any maintance on the truck I just had the oil changed when it told me too I had no idea all these things were wrong. Exceptional customer service is hard to find these days, but I found a shining example at Pep Boys on Broadway. I went in looking for some wiper blades for my 97 Infinity J30 and Sarah looked up what was required for my vehicle. Unfortunately there was only one compatible blade and it was not in stock. Next, she called other automotive parts stores in the area, including competitors, looking for the blade. She then called the dealers and checked with them. When the blade could not be found locally, she had the technicians look to see if there was an alternative solution to the one listed in the computer. Having exhausted all immediate solutions, she offered to order the part and then took steps to get it in as soon as possible. Sarah did all of this on her own initiative without any prompting from me. I purchased a new set of tires from pep boys in 2009 with road hazard warranty. Some how over the last few months I have managed to pick up several nails in three of my tires, and the other one had separated. I was in desperate need of help with this issue. I called pep boys and ask to speak with a manager. Instead I spoke with the asst. mgr. Tim Yordy. Mr. Yordy was very professional, polite, understanding and most of all he did everything within his limits to help me. I really didn't know what I was going to do about replacing these tires. I drove into Tyler the next day and met with Mr. Yordy. He evaluated my tires, which had 50% thread left on them, gave me a quote and by the grace of God and Mr. Yordy I was able to afford another set of tires with the road hazard warranty again. Went into Pep Boys to have the oil changed on both our vehicles. Upon visiting another location I was told I need new rotors and breaks because my rotors were too thin to spin, whatever that meant. I asked the manager would he have a technician to check my breaks, they pulled my car back into the stall and the manager himself I nspected my rotors and breaks. He came back and was honest with me, he explained that I did need breaks but my rotors were fine. He also told me I could wait a while before I got breaks but I needed to consider getting them soon. With his honesty I went ahead and had the repairs done. They honored their online coupons and had some instore deals that helped me out a great deal. Our daughter was traveling from Mississippi to Texas and had a flat just before she entered Texas. We spoke with Tim at the Pep Boys in Tyler and he assured me that they had time to put a new tire on her car when she arrived (it was late in the day) and that she should ask for him. Her tires had been purchased at another Pep Boys, and both the front ones were pretty worn. He gave her a very fair prorated price for a tire. After talking with Tim again, he put 2 new tires on her car at the prorated price and got her on her way in less than an hour. My family and I have taken our vehicles there for a while, but today's care sealed the deal! I took my car to pep boys and they had my car out in a timely manner and I had lots done to my car to get it inspection and tag ready and the price was great. Took my sons car back the next day and Tim the asst manager called me because there was some serious things wrong with my sons car and he helped keep the price down for me. Claude started working on my sons car at 8:30 and got down with his car around 6:00 that evening and he worked on it by himself. We recently bought a used car and purchased four new tires for it at Pep Boys. We were offered half off the price of an alignment so we got that done too. Later, I noticed that we were actually charged full price. I called the store and spoke to Tim Yordy, who offered to refund us the money. When I got to the store, I realized that I forgot the receipt, but Mr. Yordy still honored the agreement and refunded our money. Chris B went above and beyond for me today. I went to another auto parts store to get a battery (where I bought the one I was replacing) and blew a fuse while I was installing it. I went in to see if they had the fuse I had blown and they didn't, they offered little help after that. I walked next door to Pep Boys to see if they had one and they didn't, but Chris looked at the fuse and said he might be able to fix it.
