We have a 2nd and 5th grader and I've always been pleased with their teachers, the staff is very professional and has always been helpful when I had questions or when I was at the school to visit. The grounds of this school are so well kept, the security here gives me comfort as well, so many resource officers and lots of teachers out helping kids when it's time for final bell. Teachers are great at communicating here, we couldn't make it to our sons parent teacher conference so she called us and had a phone conference instead, they are so good at working around busy schedules too! Best public elementary school we came across…read more The other pointless parent review/complaint about "forcing" kids to apply for jobs inside their school is one of the dumbest things I have heard someone complain about... if you're mad or upset that a school is trying to set your child up for the REAL world and better them as human beings THEN HOMESCHOOL YOUR CHILDREN! Mitchell's curriculum is outstanding and the teachers/administration truly care about each and every child there. I, myself, am a single mom on a VERY limited low income/budget and never once felt "excluded" or "unqualified" for any type of participation regarding ANYTHING at Mitchell. Rules must be followed. Plenty of outlets for creativity and fun. (good to have bumpers to keep the bowling balls out of the gutter, as it were...) We have always appreciated and enjoyed what AFA has done for our kids-even when they can't see it! Not the best choice for everybody but Absolutely the best choice for us.

My son learned a lot with Mrs Dwyer as his gifted math teacher as well as with Mrs Marsh his gifted science teacher. My son has learned such a great deal and is enjoying learning at Chiles elementary school. He has become a super reader thanks to Mr. R who is a wonderful role model to the children at Chiles and has also done extremely well with his writing thanks to Mrs. Baldwin who is my son's outstanding homeroom teacher who made his transition from South Tampa to new Tampa a wonderful experience. Mrs Baldwin has truly made my son's experience at Chiles elementary school. This school is exemplary and I am so happy that my son is going to the school and would highly recommend the school.
