Horrible service mediocre food at best. Ordered the "big S burrito". When you bite into it the only way I can describe it is "empty". Nothing stood out. The meat was sliced so thin that it tasted like there was no meat at all which is sad because there actually was a lot of meat. The meat was sliced too thin while the bell peppers where left cut really thick and long which over took the plate. Excellent food at a reasonable price BUT... TERRIBLE SERVICE. My boyfriend and I went in twice in one week.. Both times, it took at least 15 minutes for someone to even take our drink order. The second time we sat outside and were completely ignored, so we had to go inside and find our own seat at the bar. The hostess was very rude both times we went. She did not smile once and had a terrible attitude towards us and her coworkers. We will go back, but the service is not good. Be prepared to wait. Sit at the bar to get good service. read more

Where do I start? Well lets start walking thru the door. Seated pretty quick, thats a good start. It was kind of hard to keep up with the hostess, but we managed. That was the high point. Went downhill fast!. Our server, can't remember her name, really don't want too, well she was 1: Rude, mean, nasty, rough. Basically tossed the chips and salsa on the table. "What do you want to drink?" thats how she said it. Finally, after a few more exchanges and slopping chips and salsa on our table, we told the manager and he assigned a new server to our table. He had a bit of an attitude also, but thats ok, he was better than the first, and because the World Cup was on TV we didn't see to much of him, although we could see him, or the back of his head as he watched the world cup on company time. Did seem to care, like when we needed refills for our drinks or more chips as it was taken forever to get our meals. Well, the food finally arrived. MMmm! I am from Phoenix and tend to compare all Mexican food to there because it's the best in the world. Phoenix and the surrounding 50 states don't ever have to worry about compitition from here. I had the Chimmichanga, my wife and son the Natchos and my sons companion had the "Big S Burrito" The Steak Chimmichanga was a flour tortilla, dry, burned meat, sparce sauce, and beans rice on the side. Horrible, even by taco bell standards. The Natchos did not resemble any Natchos I have ever seen, again Taco Bell is better. The Big S Burrito did look good and was said to taste OK. OK I have gone on long enough. Crap, Crap, Crap!!! These chains are so typical of each other. Lousy service, crappy food, waste of $62.00 and we did tell the management. No adjustment to the bill or even a free glass of tea. Save your money. When In Ft. Walton Beach and the surrounding communities eat anywhere than here. I love to give good reviews. This place is a good choice in Niceville. The salsa was ok...a little chunky for me. I had the chorizo gordita and a steak (asada) taco. I definitely preferred the asada with fresh lime instead of the chorizo, but it wasn't bad. The gordita corn cake was like the outside of a Salvadoran papusa. For our Mexican fix, we go to Pepitos! We usually order flautas with shredded beef, nachos with ground beef and my daughter likes their cheese quesadillas. I like that everyone gets a bowl to pour their own salsa. The chips and salsa that comes out in the beginning are always delicious. It's hard to stop eating it! Have I had better Mexican? Yes! I recently had dinner here and I have to say that it's the best tasting Mexican restaurant around. There aren't very many Mexican restaurants to choose from in this area and now that they have a spot in Niceville I can enjoy good Mexican and not have to worry about crossing the toll bridge. Way overpriced drinks! Went there for Cinco de Mayo--they were pushing their 2 for 1 drinks. I ordered their medium margarita for almost $10 bucks! This is a family restaurant in Niceville! And it's made from a package, not even fresh!! After finishing the first one (I couldn't believe I drank it that fast) I looked at the plastic cup (yep, had to drink a $10 drink out of a plastic cup!!) it was filled almost to the brim with ice!!?? The waitress asked me if I was ready for my 2nd margarita--I said yes, but could she not put so much ice in this one. She said she could not, but she could just refill the cup I had my first one in and not add any more ice (??). I opted for that, but was not happy with that deal--like I said, based on both quality and quantity, that drink offer was way overpriced. read more

The tacos were dripping in grease and the meat had a weird taste to it. Almost like it was boiled then fried idk. They call the tacos, street tacos. But let me tell all of you out there, those are not what tacos are supposed to be like!!The sope is kind of hard to explain since most of you didn't grow up in a Mexican home. Sopes are supposed to have a nice piece of masa under all the goodness but this sopes masa was thinner than a tortilla. WTH?! The salsa they serve with the chips, I swear it taste like pace or picante salsa. Make your own fresh salsa Pepito's! Damn! The chips are not fresh. Stale as a motherf*****. The cilantro and union for the tacos and sope, don't you guys wash it or what? The people I went with actually ended up getting sick shortly after stopping here. And I almost forgot about the horchata, its not real. It's from a bag you buy at the store, they mix in a pitcher with water. I can tell. You guys don't have me fooled. First off, they said no table service on the patio. The place was full and we were on the wait list. Despite there being tables outside AND we saw a full table with service, on the patio, when we were leaving post-dinner. Something does not line up there... Next is the food. While our local friends pumped up the place as THE mexican joint, it was thoroughly disappointing. They messed up one order with multiple errors in what to include and not include in the super burrito. Secondly, the chicken was rubbery and tough. Small portions that are generally lacking in any complex flavor that can even be found in moderately decent mexican restaurants. Burrito supreme does not include any sides and is smaller and less quality than most commercial burrito joints (i.e. Chipotle, Qdoba, etc.) Flautas are improperly made with corn tortillas rather than flour tortillas. Chip and salsa cost extra if you want more. Bottom line, unless you want to get something to drink, start looking elsewhere. read more

I am visiting from out of state and my friend took me there. The margaritas were quite nice. I decided to order the seafood soup. It took a long time to get my soup, but, boy, was it worth it. They made it from scratch. The crab was amazing and the soup was loaded with shrimp, fish, vegetables cooked exactly right, not too soft, not too hard.
