first time coming here and we had a pretty good meal here! when we came it wasn't too busy and we're seated quickly. the restaurant is small but has very nice decor. we ordered the cheese dip for an appetizer and it was everything you'd want in cheese dip. the bean dip was actually really good and i liked that more than the salsa, not that the salsa wasn't good. for entree i got the steak tacos which came with rice and charro beans. the steak was flavorful and juicy. i didn't get limes with my plate but i used the lemon from the water and that sufficed. tacos were great and filling. the rice was good but was a little too salty. same with the charro beans. the bacon was a nice touch too. the grilled chicken enchiladas were really good as well. unfortunately, the rice again was salty. overall our meal was good other than the salty rice. our service was good but we had many people taking turns serving us so we weren't sure who to tip. we'd definitely come back again to try other items on the menu. they have buy one get one beers all day which is a great deal! read more

Had 2 for 1 margaritas. Did not want the seconds. Tasted like just margarita mix alone. I wanted a menu other than the lunch menu and the waitress pointed for me to go get the other menu. We walked in for the two for one margaritas and didn't realize it was only specific margaritas, the drinks were gross, he took my order, we got our queso and drinks but never got the food. They brought our food, but they forgot silverware and our drinks. Had to bug them for both 2 times. Food was cold as well. No one seems to speak English well enough to understand us. This was my second choice for a restaurant today. The pizza place next door was closed so I walked next door. I had never been there before and I'm very picky about my Mexican food. Super friendly and very efficient staff, the food was out in no time! It took us longer to decide what to eat, then what it took them to bring out!! Yes the food is on paper plates and or the aluminum containers like you see in the picture but honestly are we eating the plates or containers ? It's all due to the pandemic folks, relax!! The corn tortillas are made fresh in house and the horchata was bomb. I did request for them to start making some tamarindo water, since that's hard to come by in this area!!!! 3 leches cake didn't make the picture because it was gone before i knew it!!! Ok prepare yourself for the AAA Mexican food experience! Affordable. Authentic. Amazing. I'm so impressed all I'm going to do is list the reasons starting at the door.. 1) Walked inside- was immediately hit with the scent of delicious Mexican food and a warm environment with great music. Seriously the music is fantastic and not too loud. 2) A friendly and smiling employee greeted and seated us. 3) Sat down in a very comfortable booth and within 15 seconds there was chips and salsa bestowed upon our table. Love this salsa! The salsa is not too spicy and not too sweet. The chips are equally delicious. 4) My wife and I ordered the chicken fajitas, our son the shrimp quesadilla. They had a sweet tea and I a house margarita on the rocks. Our fajitas emerged from the kitchen doors on hot flat irons with that signature sizzling sound and steam rising from them. The chicken was very good quality without fatty bits or gristle, all meat and juicy! Everything was this good. Plenty of portions, well worth the money. 5) The waiter pointed out the "Salsa bar". Which is neat but I really enjoyed the salsa they brought to the table so I didn't give it a try. This is hands down the best Mexican food restaurant experience we've had in the last 10 years. Better compared to a local place we regularly go named Pepitos. Micasita totally won me and my family over and get this- we paid 25% less for the same meals as we do at Pepitos! Stopped here for a Sunday lunch on the patio just by chance when driving by, visiting the area. Saw the mixed reviews, so had an open mind. Service was terrific, thanks to Luis and a young lady who kept our chips and salsa refreshed. Prices were affordable, including advertised 2 for 1 margaritas, which we didn't get this time. Chips were fine, tomato salsa was mild, the refried beans salsa was basically just warm mush. My husband's beef chimichanga first came out with chicken, but replaced with the correct ground beef very quickly. My "rice bowl" - the roasted chicken was ok, the rest of it was a ball of mush. Wouldn't get it again. Amazing though were in-house made Guadalajaran spicy sauces and pickled onions that Luis brought out when we asked for something with some spice. Worst Mexican restaurant in Niceville. Ordered combo plates to try different items. Guacamole had old avocado taste, no lime, no salt or garlic. Plates arrived in less than 5 minutes from ordering...that means was scooped on plate and microwaved. Enchilada was so tough it required knife to cut. Chile Relleno was a limp pepper, not battered and fried, no seasoning. Beans and rice straight from can/ packages and reheated. Taco Bell sells fresher ingredients than this restaurant. Spent $36 !!! Could have had a good lunch at TB for $15 instead of a bad one here. Sure wish Taco Shed had been able to find workers and stayed open...they were fresh and tasty. read more

Enjoyed a nice lunch of pork casitas, receiving a plentiful portion. My waitress Nichol was extremely helpful in explaining the menu and even said she could have a special order prepared for me. I lived in Tucson, AZ for 10 years and fell in love with real Mexican food. When I moved back east, I found out real Mexican food is hard to find. Never did found a place in GA, found a really good place in Tampa; but I found an amazing place in Niceville, FL. Mi Casita is real Mexican food. Had family here for a month and we probably went there about 6 times. I really love the idea that we can bring our pups when we use the very comfortable outdoor dining. I've been twice since my family left. This place is authentic, the staff are the very nicest people. I'm so happy when I go there and it's crowded; it means they will stay!!
