I started off by doing an hour trail ride back in January and the scenery was absolutely beautiful. Then I came back a few weeks later for their Cowboy Spirit days where they teach you the basics of horsemanship. It was so much fun and I made new friends who I keep in contact and meet up with. I'm new to riding and the equine world but this ranch has really jumpstarted the hobby for me. They really love and trust their horses and treat them so well which makes all the experiences so comfortable and encouraging. What really stood out to me was how welcoming they are to people who are new to horses and you can tell they genuinely care about you learning and developing the skills to work with and around the horses. I've visited several ranches now and some of them can be very unwelcoming to people with no experience but that wasn't the case here. So happy I found this gem in San Diego, always worth the 40 minute drive from my part of town.

She paired each of them with a horse that was perfect match for their energy. They did a 1 hour ride and all came back with big smiles, thank you so much for the memorable experience Gabby! You can tell all the horses are well taken care of and that everyone there loves them very much! We will be back for sure!!!

It was above and beyond what I expected and we enjoyed every minute of it! St. Patrick was a highlight for my son and husband who enjoyed his spot on Irish accent very much! The scavenger hunt was sweet and well thought out with very fun prizes at the end! Everyone made new friends, the petting zoo was great too! I made friends with one of the brand new goat babies they're very sweet and tiny! My husband held a couple snakes and my little guy had fun watching the tortoises eat! If your family want to have a great time I highly recommend visiting fort cross! Incredible Photo ops everywhere! Did I mention paint ball slingshot , tomahawk throwing and archery ? Well done and family fun great for bonding! We loved the very welcoming and compassionate owners! We are already planning our next visit back!

This family owned and built setup gives an old timey backyard feel with games ranging from treasure hunt, archery, ax throwing to a large garden/nursery. Like a large backyard it is all dirt paths with over grown trees & bushes so i would not come in high heels or nice shoes. The garden area is an "instagram" worthy spot for influencer photos as it is decorated with vintage photo frames, art, pottery giving it a rustic yet artsy feel. Pictures on yelp do the venue more justice than the companies website or TripAdvisor. Dates and hours are limited, as the family runs all aspects of Fort Cross. Highly recommend confirming they are open before just heading out. My one reservation or word of caution is with the archery. There are no forearm guards or finger protection offered. The bowstring with repetitive can possibly hurt your skin and cause of injuries.

Unfortunately it seems they weren't ready as a business and very easily gave up on all these girls and the program not even a year into it. They were unorganized and the communication along the whole way was just bad. During these times of bad communication and lack of attention to detail we decided to let it go as it's a new program. Things take time to perfect and get right. Correct?..... Not to them apparently it was easier to just cancel the program and let all these kids and staff down without any sort of communication. Just one day out of the blue putting it on the coaches to relay the terrible news that ownership and management made. Slayden couldn't even show up to inform us. He didn't even want us to come to the coaches with problems only to him. Yet he couldn't even show up to tell us face to face. Apparently they didn't want to handle the finances?? Not only did we waste nearly a 1000 dollars on a uniform as well as our monthly tuition and all the other costs. But our girls who worked hard all year didn't even get a end of the year banquet like even the cheapest pop Warner teams get. The company and managers are a joke. I would honestly think twice before bringing your kids here.

CAMP CUYAMACA This…read moreweekend I attended a retreat with a group at SDSU for the weekend, to relive the space that 6th graders used for this camping. I've done 6th grade camping, so reliving the experience but with a new area was awesome! The bunk beds were extremely creaky, like every second you move, you would wake up every single person there. The beds were also extremely DISGUSTING, I wiped down three times, and it was black every single time, I ended up throwing the blanket underneath because of how disgusting it really is. The cleaning team can definitely do a better job going through it. The activities is what made this review a 4 star, the environment itself is bright and the lodges are all labeled in such adorable details, like "Wood Craft Lodge" or "Fox Lodge". There was rock shaping and wood crafting, really enjoy those parts. The people there were also kind, shoutout to Tim and Monique for being incredible cooks and guides to some of the activities! The food itself was okay, it was not something I'd go for seconds, but it will do the job for you and make you full. The cooks still worked extremely hard to bring everything out and always had no problem bringing more, they were always kind! Overall, the camping space was decent and I'd recommend anyone coming by!

Den attendant yells at kids. -eat quickly as you cannot get extra food unless you slam it down and might get lucky -wake up time you have 10 minutes to get ready plus use the bathroom which was a wait time of 20 minutes -not allowed to know or ask what time is it. You will be ignored! Pro: activities were decent and camp guides if you got a good one sent pictures of the kids. Baffled by the high cost and military style camp that is run here. Cheers to camp memories- one my kid will never forget!!!!
