Scheduling was easy, and when I arrived the environment was welcoming and professional. Everyone was friendly and understanding. However, before any work started, I was told that my insurance "wasn't very good" and would not cover much of the treatment. Since I hadn't dealt with dental insurance in years, I trusted what I was being told. They presented me with paperwork before treatment. At the time, I believed it was a billing statement rather than an estimate. Based on that understanding, I agreed to the recommended work and paid over $750 out of pocket that same day. We also discussed a larger treatment plan moving forward. Because I had not been to a dentist in years, I assumed the costs were normal. Later, after speaking with friends who had similar dental work done for significantly lower copays, I started questioning whether I had paid far more than expected. I still initially gave the office the benefit of the doubt because the staff had been nice and I believed I needed the work anyway. After speaking with other dental offices, I learned that my insurance is actually considered a strong dental plan and that my out-of-pocket costs appeared much higher than what many offices would have charged. At that point, I canceled the extensive treatment plan and decided to seek another provider for major dental work. Fast forward to May 2026: I returned only for a routine cleaning that I knew was 100% covered by my insurance. During that visit, I was informed that I had a credit on my account. This surprised me because nobody had ever contacted me to explain that I had overpaid or that a credit existed. I told the dental assistant that I only wanted services fully covered by my insurance. Instead, I was repeatedly encouraged to continue with additional deep cleaning/root scaling work and "touch-up" work from the previous visit -- despite no hygienist or dentist having examined my mouth yet that day. I again stated that I only wanted what was fully covered and that I wanted my credit refunded. I was then told the refund process could take up to four months, even though the amount was only around $340. During this interaction, I honestly felt confused and pressured. At one point, the dental assistant incorrectly stated that I had only paid around $376 out of pocket during my previous visit. It was only after I pulled up my bank transaction on my phone that a printed receipt was produced confirming I had actually paid over $750. I also felt like it was being implied that other dental offices would not want to treat me because root scaling had already been started. The assistant repeatedly stated that a regular cleaning would "do nothing" and referred to it as "just polishing." I specifically asked for clarification to make sure I was still allowed to see another dentist for a standard cleaning, and eventually she confirmed there was no legal or insurance issue preventing me from doing so. Ultimately, because I declined additional root scaling treatment, they refused to perform any cleaning at all that day, stating they believed a general cleaning would be ineffective. When I questioned why I had apparently overpaid during my original visit, I was told that insurance ended up covering more than expected and that the original paperwork I thought was a bill was actually only an estimate. I requested my refund along with copies of my dental records and treatment plan. Oddly, I could not receive the treatment plan the same day and was told I would need to formally request it with my records. I'm not commenting on the quality of the dental work itself, and I will say the office environment is clean and welcoming. However, based on my experience, I strongly encourage anyone visiting this office to fully understand their dental insurance beforehand and carefully review all paperwork before agreeing to treatment or making payments. Specifically, ask whether the paperwork you are signing is an estimate or a final bill, and ask whether there is any possibility you could later discover you overpaid.

If you dare to challenge their archaic practices (like them REFUSING to help you get a copy of your proper dentist's records -- most practices will help you via a form they send to your old doc to request your record, you just need to sign off on the release form), the rude way they talk to you, the ridiculous hoops for you to jump through, you are seen as a "miserable person" and they will call you such in their response to your review. Lol if I was a guy challenging the way this front desk lady operated, I would be seen as "attempting to set better business practices" by calling out the poor experience. The office is always willing to work with you if you are forthcoming with any concerns or fears you may have. I recommended them to all of my family and now they are going to visit real soon.

I kindly asked the lady who called me back for X-rays can they use the X-rays that I've taken in the last weeks from OTHER DENTIST and she told me they were "different" without making it fully clear how. My worries of radiation exposure throughout the last 30days from dentist xrays were kind of bothering me and she didn't help me feel better. Spewing the same thing all xray people say "yOUr pHonE GIveS oFF mOrE raDIation". The thing about it is, These people goto college to get a degree and still don't understand ionizing radiation vs NON ionizing radiation. A phone and a xray have TWO COMPLETELY DIFFERENT types of radiation. When ionizing radiation interacts with cells, it can cause damage to the cells. ESPECIALLY if your constantly exposed, Which they OBVIOUSLY understand since they're taught to run and hide behind a wall during every Xray. Of course I didn't make a big deal of it or say any of this. I kept my mouth closed & took the X-rays but she obviously was annoyed with me even asking what the difference between my dentist X-rays and theirs were. As if I don't have a right to ask questions. Your gonna be digging in peoples mouth but if you get frustrated with simple questions that you SHOULD have answers to, you should probably work in a different profession. I was getting a crown replace this week, They got a new gadget called The Wand for to do Novocaine injections with, This was the easiest and less pain injection I have every had in my 40+ years of having dental work done. Dr. Gilleland was good before but this new process administers the drug slowly with even pressure and warms to solution. No feeling of pressure, burning or fat lip feeling. No pain!!! QUALITY WORK IS DONE HERE. (My wife also gets here dental work done here and she has great results also) So give them a call, office is spotless, staff knows you by name and you are treated as a friend with respect.
