They were helpful, responsive, and everything was clear and upfront. There were no surprise charges, or "gotchas". They gave us great advice on the set up of the tables, chairs, bar etc. They listened carefully to everything that was asked of them, made a couple of outstanding suggestions and dealt with the problems caused by strong gusts of wind at an outdoor venue with calm assurance. All of the food was incredible. The hor's d'ourves were fantastic, especially the brie and artichoke tarts, mini lobster rolls and tuna tacos. The mac and cheese in mini ramekins were also a huge hit. The dinners were equally delicious. I had the half chicken, which was served with a delicious polenta. It was absolutely amazing. Perfectly cooked, moist with a crispy skin. Other sides were served family style and were all fantastic. The dessert was also superb. Each guest received a trio of mini desserts, each of which was delightful. We had several guests with food restrictions (vegetarian, gluten free, dairy free). The servers made sure the restrictions were observed, and they made it a point to bring appropriate appetizers to those guests, which was a very nice touch. All of the guests raved about the food. The service was also first class. There were so many servers handling the passed hor's d'ourves that every guest had multiple chances to try each of the offerings. Service of the dinner was equally impressive. The venue is outdoors, and it is a bit of a hike from the kitchen tent to the dining area. I thought she might say, 'Hey, sorry, I've seen your emails and heard your voicemails but I've been slammed. Not an excuse, but here is the number you need xxxxxx. We'll see you tomorrow!" Simple. Problem solved. Nope! She called and started yelling at me. She told me she had been working overtime and she heard me calling and she was too busy to answer. She said I had no business requesting a contact number and how dare I call and email multiple times. I think she was trying to embarrass me??? I don't know. We got many, many compliments on the food, it was about 1/4th the price Chanterelle To Go would have charged while also providing a wider variety for our guests. One of the vendors was a catering service known as Tina's Table. We picked up a pint of Duck Sausage, Sweet Potato Kale Soup, and I have to tell you -it was very very good!! Tender cubes of sweet potato, lots of great tasting sausage, and a very flavorful broth. We also bought a Hubbard Squash bar that reminded me a lot of cornbread. It was sweet, very moist, and just plain delicious. Tina's website lists four kinds of duck and chicken egg pasta, all sorts of duck specialties (think duck bacon, pastrami and sausage, soups and chilis, fresh ducks and chickens from MarWin Farm in New Hartford, plus rolls and pastries.
