My sisters and I came in with high expectations for my mom's retirement party, and Peppers Artful Events absolutely knocked it out the park! From the initial conference call with Sarah when we were comparing several caterers, their menu proposal perfectly captured the look and feel we wanted. The event was at my sister's house; Peppers arrived early to set up, which meant we could actually relax and enjoy getting ready instead of stressing and scrambling around! Their crew took over every detail like a team of little magical elves, they even brought complimentary décor that perfectly matched our coastal theme. Even the food displays were works of art, and I'm still kicking myself for not taking photos! And then there was THE FOOD!! Genuinely phenomenal, it tasted even better than it looked. We went with stationary hors d'oeuvre displays and tray-passed appetizers before the main stations, and everyone was (and still is!) raving about it. I honestly can't pick a favorite. We also opted for full bar service; our bartender, Tracy, was fantastic! If you're trying to decide between Peppers and another caterer, do yourself a favor and just go with Peppers. We worked with Carolyn and her wonderful staff to plan our mom's Celebration of Life at the Concord Museum for about 90 guests. From start to finish, they couldn't have been more kind, personable and professional. And the food was delicious and EXACTLY what we were looking for. I can't recommend Peppers highly enough! Peppers did the food for my son's bar mitzvah last weekend, and it was absolutely amazing!! The whole team was so great to work with. Early in the planning process, I talked to Carolyn about our vision for my son's party, explaining not only the baseball theme, but also his favorite foods and food restrictions, and she came up with an amazing menu that was delicious, on theme, and inclusive. Throughout the entire party, friends and relatives kept coming up to me saying how wonderful the food was. After the event, I got a note from our venue, since Peppers was a new caterer for them, saying that the venue also had a wonderful experience with Peppers and was excited to have a new caterer to add to their recommended vendor list. We will definitely be getting in touch when it's time for our next simcha, and I highly recommend Peppers for all your catering needs! read more

A disappointing experience with Pepper's Catering for a wedding event! My experience with them did not live up to the reputation of the previous owners. Communication was a struggle throughout the entire process - from the very start when it took 3 calls to get the initial return call, to being stood up at a meeting, to not reading or responding to my emails until calls were made, to a tasting that was not reflective of plan, to increasing costs without notification, to raising concerns at the 11 th hour, and even to the very end when Dianne did not communicate or execute correct return reimbursement. Some details were missed which was disappointing given all the planning and communication on my end that all details were important to me. Cassandra was the 2 nd coordinator at the event but I only met and spoke with her once prior to the event. Never saw her at the event until leaving the venue! Never heard from a lead server throughout the event. All my head table floral décor was being thrown away without my knowledge until I went looking for it! I appreciated Pepper's willingness to work with us on executing our vision but when it came to the details, Dianne really didn't want to hear it; seemed like it was too much work/a bother for her. Via "the grapevine", I had heard some not so good things about some recent Pepper's events from multiple people. I chose to ignore them but I shouldn't have. When I shared them with Dianne, the response was "I never heard that". Some of the food was excellently prepared. However, we felt the entrée served at the tasting was not quite what was served at the event. Not sure why that would be but 3 of the 4 people at the tasting felt the same. After the event I called to give feedback. Dianne wasn't really interested in hearing it. I did not appreciate the attempt to "manage my expectations". A customer's expectations don't need "to be managed" when services are provided as planned and purchased! This company does not dot their "i's" or cross their "t's" and they really should based on the prices they charge. Would not recommend. Immediately upon posting the review we were promptly reached out to by Amy, the VP of sales who wanted to hear more about our experience with Pepper's. She provided a space for me and my mom to air our grievances, offer suggestions for go forward and she really listened to what we had to say. She was professional, empathetic and an absolute pleasure to chat through a challenging experience with. She helped us feel heard and supported throughout the recovery process. It was clear from the start that Amy and Gourmet Caterers wanted to make things right - they were willing to have multiple conversations with us and Amy worked with management on our behalf to help us reach an amicable solution. We had an amazing experience working with Peppers for our wedding in June! Carolyn and Cassandra were incredibly helpful throughout the entire process--great communicators who answered all our questions over email, phone calls, and even text. We had over 80 guests at a small-ish venue (The Griffin Museum), which meant there were a few creative steps we had to take during the night to make the space work. Add to that the threat of thunderstorms on the forecast, and we were nervous about how everything would go! Peppers was a huge part of why (and how) everything went smoothly. I hired Peppers to cater the reception for my photography exhibition at the IFS Gallery in Newburyport, MA. From my first call with the wonderful Dianne Stahl, straight through to the event itself, working with Peppers was easy, non-stressful, and downright fun. We chose a menu to compliment the Cuban photos, and made sure there were choices for vegans, vegetarians and carnivores. The crew that arrived to help (server, bartender) couldn't have been nicer or more helpful. Honestly! It was literally ZERO stress for me. The food was delicious and the choice of a prosecco for the cocktail was a great recommendation. Cannot say enough about Peppers and all they did in preparation for and in the execution of our backyard wedding - Brenda was incredible from Day 1 in making our vision come to life, and she along with Melissa helped to execute the day flawlessly. The food was AMAZING and got rave reviews, we had a dedicated server for both us as the bride and groom and also my parents as the homeowners, and our signature cocktail was an absolute hit that ran out within two hours! I can't really give Pepper's a proper rating because we didn't use them. However, I did want to share our experience as I found it rather odd. Pepper's was recommended to us by the Fruitlands Museum. We contacted them in early March of 2010 for a casual post-wedding event in early June of the same year. Their menu and advertised prices looked like exactly what we were going for. I received a response from Leslie very quickly and we setup a meeting for about 2 weeks later (we had to wait for John, the owner, to return from a catering conference). We met with John on a Thursday morning in mid March and discussed several different possibilities for our party. We were interested mostly in having a casual barbecue so we discussed several options for grilling and ice cream. John said he would send us a quote with 4 or 5 days. He said he would start high and we could work down from there. The following Wednesday, having not heard anything yet, I emailed John to ask if he had any updates for us. The next day, still not having heard anything, I called and left a message for John. Shortly after, I received an email from John saying he would have the quote for me the next day. Leslie sent me the quote and menu the next afternoon. The quote was almost $12,000, about 3x what we were hoping to spend, and some of the items were different from those we had agreed upon. In addition to the cost of food (which honestly seemed reasonable) there were labor and admin fees totaling about $3500. 3 days later I sent an email requesting some additional information about the menu and quote. John responded the next day, stating that the menu changes were mistakes in transcription and explaining that their advertised pricing does not include labor charges. Five days later I sent back a revised menu to John and asked if we could set up a time to talk it over. I was especially interested in regaining the "casual" nature of the party that had somewhat gotten lost in all of the attractive fancy options Pepper's could offer. I had no acknowledgement of this email for 8 days, during which time my fiancée and I found another caterer. When I did get a response, Leslie sent me a revised menu and estimate and said she would follow up the email with a phonecall. The next day I emailed Leslie and John back to say we had gone with a different caterer. The email bounced, with an error stating that both users were unknown. However, since I never received a follow-up call, I assumed it had eventually gone through anyway. Two weeks later I received an email from John with a subject line of "are you still interested in delicious catering for June X?" The email was strangely phrased and full of typos. I emailed back stating that we had gone with another caterer. I did not hear back again. Overall, Pepper's lack of responsiveness struck me as very strange, given their apparent professionalism and good online reviews. My only guess is that our event was too low-budget for them to really bother with. read more

I would like to echo the experiences of the person above me. TheKnot.com recommended Pepper's as a wonderful caterer and the menu looked great. However, we didn't end up using them because of our initial experience. We called to ask about their menu and pricing for our event. The woman on the phone was very pleasant and asked for all of our contact information, including home address, even before discussing menu options or information about the event. When asked about why she needed our address, she stated that it was to ensure they got paid when they billed us. Not something you want to hear at the outset, even if it is true. When we said we felt uncomfortable giving out our home address, her demeanor immediately changed to incredibly unprofessional and rude. She didn't want to divulge any options and insisted that she would only send information if we all but set up an account with the business. We got off the phone ASAP and won't be going back. I can understand not wanting to do things over the phone to avoid disputes or to want to send information by email. Still, implying that the business won't get paid by the prospective client is flat-out insulting. There are ways to handle this. We're handling it by going elsewhere. read more

My colleagues and I were consulting with Pepper's for a party we had planned for this fall. We ultimately chose another caterer, but the tasting we had at their location was a fine experience, if a little odd. When we got there, the table wasn't set and we waited a little while for the first course to be brought out. Dianne was our host, and both she and the cook really knew their stuff. Not only what was in the food but how it could be changed to suit different kinds of events or different palates-- if you use Pepper's you have a truly customizable experience, which is rare and awesome. The wait between courses seemed overly long to us, and there were awkward pauses while Dianne sat and watched us eat (which was pretty awkward, rather than her joining us for lunch it felt like we were on display, but we got over it). The food was delicious-- short ribs, risotto, salad, grilled vegetables-- except that the grilled vegetables were served cold, which seemed odd as they noted they'd have been served hot at the event. But the big downside was that they'd forgotten (which we did note in advance) that one of our tasters was vegetarian, so they hadn't prepared an entree for her. The chef quickly rushed back into the kitchen and brought out a plate of butternut squash ravioli that likely would have been amazing if they'd been cooked all the way through, but they were barely cooked enough to chew. In the end they comped the price of my vegetarian colleague's lunch, but at $100 a head we still felt that was on the pricey side for a tasting. Ultimately we ended up choosing another caterer who offered more in the way of events rentals and services in addition to food at a slightly lower cost. But we are thinking of using Pepper's for our holiday party or one of our board meetings-- their staff are knowledgeable and their food is really good, and their reviews speak to a high satisfaction rate-- we just won't be doing a tasting with them again. read more

This review is a long time coming as my wife and I got married in September of 2012. The first thing that i need to say is that everything at the wedding itself was amazing and perfect. They even went an extra step to ensure it went that way which I will explain later. This was all thanks to the two lovely ladies who organized this for us, Liz and Traci. Liz was our first contact at Pepper's and her fast communications and organization made planning the event and details a breeze. Liz helped talk us through the menu options and broke down prices (which are very reasonable) in a very detailed manner so we could see exactly what we were getting. We met with Liz and Traci a week before the wedding to finalize plans. This is where we met Traci for the first time and new instantly that they both shared our vision for the perfect wedding and we could tell they actually cared that it went off as planned. The setup at the wedding was everything we had hoped for. The food was delicious and elegantly presented. It exceeded our expectations. Everyone raved about it. The support staff they brought with them seemed to really care about our special day as well. They were genuine and competent. But, the extra step came in when unknown to myself, the beer keg I had brought in for the bar would not fit the taps. This would ave been devastating to me as this was the only thing i had planned to drink that day! But before i even knew there was an issue, they had gone out to a liquor store several miles away, and picked up a few cases to make sure it was available for me. Not all caterers care enough to do something like this. All in all, the staff is amazing, the pricing extremely fair, and the experience they help create will be remembered for a lifetime. I just experienced my 2nd Pepper's event and could not be happier! To set the stage, I was hosting gathering of 30 of my team members and their significant others at my home for a Holiday Buffet dinner. From the moment Liz O'Neil and I connected I knew I was in good hands! She helped me navigate thru menu choices and decisions I needed to make while covering every detail. She is so passionate about her work and excited to talk about all that Peppers can do to create the right venue with wonderful complimentary food. As promised, promptly at 4:00PM Tracy and Tony knocked on my door and after a quick tour of the house, began to set up in our garage off the kitchen as their work area. They were both so professional and made quite a team! Tracy set up the buffet with my serving pieces and passed a variety of scrumptious Hors Oeuvres from the Preferred Holiday Menu. Each one was as delicious as the last. My guests loved every one of them, each with unique layered flavors. They were afraid if they kept eating, they wouldn't leave room for dinner. Lobster Salad and Candied Bacon Planks were at the top of the list! Tracy was the consummate professional server, moving throughout the house, 1st and 2nd floors to reach every guest, picking up leftovers and clutter, and crumbing table tops. Tony was a gem, and couldn't have been more accommodating when I needed to delay dinner for some late arrivals. He was personable, and engaging with our guests when they asked about ingredients, yet invisible when he needed to use the kitchen oven. And dinner......What a hit! The short ribs were so tender and flavorful, the horseradish mashed potatoes surprised everyone, the fresh vegetables were cooked to perfection and the spinach salad a perfect accompaniment! I only ordered half a tray of butternut squash lasagna for one vegetarian guest...I should have ordered a full tray....it was gone within minutes! After dinner we held the traditional Yankee Swap...during which time Tracy wistfully cleared all the rooms of dishes, glasses, silverware, etc., and artfully arranged all the desserts [our guests brought] on serving trays and refreshed the buffet table for round two! She worked so swiftly and efficiently that I was shocked! I didn't have to think about what to do or take a moment from enjoying my guests. Minutes later Tracy and Tony were packed up, leftovers stored, trash taken out and they were ready to go! Every aspect of my experience with Pepper's, from my first phone call til waking up the next morning with just a few dishes to wash, exceeded my expectation! My guest raved about the food and enjoyed a wonderful evening thanks to your very professional and capable team! Please extend a very special Thank You to Liz, Tracy and Tony! We used peppers as our catering company for our wedding on 10/27 at Larz Anderson car Museum. Peppers has great food! That alone is 5 stars. They're also well organized and have a great location to do tasting etc while you're planning your event . Trish Tracy and Ariel were amazing!! Super organized upbeat and just amazing to deal with! Thank you! Highly recommend paying extra and getting a wedding planner for the day of. However Peppers needs to train their bar and kitchen staff in fire emergencies better... they actually caused a fire at our wedding. The venue was filled with smoke... All of our guests including my bride and myself had to leave the building in a rain storm. Some of my guests later told me a Peppers staff member panicked and was yelling at them to get the "f" out out of the building. That was very unprofessional. Luckily my wife's cousin put out the fire for Peppers. If this wasn't caught it would have stopped our wedding before it even barely started. It may of damaged one of Brookline's greatest historical landmarks or possibly even destroyed it. Brookline FD came instantly to check out everything and shut off the fire alarm. We were only 20 min or so delayed. But what rubbed us the wrong way was we never received an official apology. Or even a thank you to my wife's cousin for saving the day. All we received was a two bills as of what we owed. I guess if I was Peppers owner and heard about this I would have made a call/sent a letter and at least apologized. That to me was a little unprofessional. However the food and the service was great besides the fire part. They rebounded well after what could have been a horrendous situation. Trish Tracy and Ariel are major assets to Peppers and IMHO deserve a raise and lots of praise. If it wasn't for some of the unprofessionalism and the fire I would have easily given them 5 stars. I know things can happen but the way you handled it afterward was a little disheartening. My wedding could have been ruined. Just feel that needed an official apology above Trish. read more

She and the entire staff at Peppers attended to every detail without question. The event staff were charming, presentation was wonderful and food quality/quantity was outstanding. They have a way of elevating an average event into a spectacularly high-profile event! Guests of the event repeatedly commented on the presentation and quality of the food. We're getting married at Mechanic's Hall this May, and Pepper's came recommended as one of the caterers. We explored both recommended options, and for the exact same menu, Pepper's came in thousands below in their estimate. Including the wedding cake. What really stood out though, was the woman who we couldn't love more - Deborah Anthony. Not only did she respond, meet with us and get us a written estimate within days of our inquiry, she did all this with her own wedding the following weekend! I couldn't believe it. The other company - took two more weeks past our meeting with Deb to even respond to my inquiry. Another week to schedule a meeting, and then more time to get us the written estimate. Needless to say, we went with Pepper's and sent in our deposit right away. The meeting with her seeming to "fit" us better as well. It was relaxed and comfortable. Speaking of deposits, they were very flexible in working a payment schedule that worked for us. Can't say how wonderful that has been in the stress department. Last November we had our tasting, and the food was SUPERB! Exceeded my expectations. From the appetizers, to the 1st course (caprese salad), to the entree options (chicken picatta, seared bistro tenderloin, and the AMAZING vegetarian option - saffron, goat cheese and scallion polenta, on a grilled portobello mushroom with frizzled sweet potato on top). Our sides are mashed potatoes and their seasonal vegetable - summer vegetable succotash. I highly recommend the tenderloin - it was my favorite dish. You will roll out of this tasting - it's all so good. We are also having late night snacks at our 7 hour reception. Their beef sliders and french fries were out of this world. We may add turkey burgers too, and perhaps some mini pizzas, which I can't imagine being bad. The sliders were just so good. For the food, it's also important to note that they do things seasonably, and a lot of their own growing. Deb told us they even planted sunflowers for one of their brides bouquets. I love it. Lastly, we just had our wedding cake tasting and design consultation. I have sugar issues (hypoglycemia) and really can't eat a lot of rich cake. They made a carrot cake just for me so that I could participate in the tasting too. I couldn't help myself, and tried some of the other cakes. To my surprise, I did not have a sugar reaction like I usually do. The cakes we tried were not overly sweet, and so so so good. The baker was really awesome in getting into my head where my ideas were a mess, and helped me put something beautiful together. I can't wait to see the final product! We are also doing a grooms cake - and having a total of 4 different types of cake. Linens and tableware - what can I say? Deb really took our vision of a old fashioned wedding and brought out beautiful choices. Her expertise really helped here, I hadn't thought much about how to make it all come together. I'll have to come back and write about how the actual wedding day goes - but I've had such a great experience with Pepper's so far that I'm sure it's going to go off without a hitch! Pepper's did an extraordinary job with our wedding and looking back, choosing them was one of the best decisions we made. Jody is superb, I actually can't say enough great things about her. She was always responsive and solved problems before we even knew they existed. She has outstanding attention to detail and captured every single thing we asked for. Also, she treated our wedding with such importance, scoping out our venue multiple times, and triple checking that our ceremony and reception would be beautiful regardless of the weather we had that day. (It poured rain on our outdoor ceremony and the move to plan B was seamless, in fact, family has argued they liked it better than the original plan!!) On top of all of this and I should have mentioned it first, the food was delicious and so were the desserts. The service, setup, staff and food were impeccable. We tasted about 8 different caterers for our wedding, finding someone who could do 200 people, and could reliably reproduce what they made on a small scale. We hired them for our wedding because their food was making us salivate just thinking about it, even after going to other tastings and being full we'd compare and salivate over Pepper's food. My guests can't stop raving about the spooned corn pudding with the Petite Filet, and the roasted root veg with the other dishes also keeps getting talked about. We had our event at Mechanics Hall, and even though we had a change in everyone handling our event (2 years of planning is bound to have some staffing changes) it still went off without a hitch. We hired Pepper's to cater our wedding reception and they were able to do so wonderfully, especially given the relative short-notice that we have them. Like many of the reviews mentioned, the food is simply outstanding. The staff, servers, bartenders, and event manager at our event, were nearly flawless. Pepper's not only catered, but also brought some tables and table linens, brought the flowers and displayed the food in such a way that all of our guests were impressed and could not pay enough compliments about the quality of the food. After we called Pepper's for a quote, we were visited immediately by one of the owners. We spoke about our vision for our wedding celebration and generally planned a lot of the details and the menu on the spot. Unfortunately, our event was then transferred to one of the event planners. This meant that we had to go through a lot of the initial conversation again. In fact, we had to do it a third time when we met the event manager, the person that was actually going to oversee our event. The setup of the event could definitely have been smoother and I hope they work on this in the future. Despite that fact, I would definitely consider using Pepper's again for future gatherings and highly recommend them. read more

They customized our hors d'oeuvres based on our favorite foods, created a beautiful and delicious dessert bar, and helped us set up wedding decor and favors. Exquisite. Unique. Perfection: three words that only begin to describe Pepper's ability to transform an ordinary space into an extraordinary event. Our wedding was held at the Worcester Regional Airport, a venue which has never hosted an event of this kind. Therefore, we turned to Pepper's to supply us with a complete package; from food all the way down to glassware. Planning: From our very first correspondence, I knew Jody and I were going to work great together. Extremely well spoken and knowledgeable, she guided us through the many choices that a couple must make when planning a wedding, and took extreme care in familiarizing herself with the venue to focus on details that I didn't even know to think of! She has a wonderful way of suggesting décor options that will create the greatest visual impact while keeping within budget. Planning a wedding at a venue that does not specialize in weddings became quite the challenge, but Jody handled all questions and concerns with extreme professionalism, even when they were over and above her call to duty! Food: Wow! From the tasting to the big day, Pepper's has it all together. The presentation is exceptional, like edible art, which paves the way for just how delicious the food tastes! We had 245 guests in attendance, and chose to have only passed hors d'oeuvres at cocktail hour because of a space restriction. Our guests are still raving about them! Kathleen, our event manager, was very accommodating and available the entire night, and even met me with a plate of hors d'oeuvres after our formal photos to make sure I got to enjoy some before the guests scooped them all up! We served the Roasted Top Sirloin of Certified Angus Beef, Herb-crusted Stuffed Chicken Breast Roulade, and Spinach Roasted Garlic Tortelloni, all of which got A+ reviews from our guests. Flowers: After a semi last minute cancellation, we turned to Pepper's to become our florist as well. Without hesitation, Heidi took on the challenge, and we couldn't have been happier with the result! I'm dating myself when I say I've been coming to Susan and John for our catering needs for almost 30 yrs now... we called upon them frequently while at Banyan Systems, for leader appreciation events for the Worcester Chapter AMC and more recently, a surprise 60th birthday party for my boyfriend. Liz was our contact this time and she really knew her stuff! Working with details from family members posts on Pinterest we were able to pull off the best surprise birthday. We hired Peppers to handle bartenders and servers at my son's wedding. I must say they went above and beyond to make this wedding go smoothly. It was a laid back style wedding and they just went with the flow. Trish was our event coordinator and she was extremely helpful. The wait staff kept up with the pace of everything. I'm beyond shocked to see the negative reviews on here. We had an absolutely wonderful experience with Peppers for our wedding (at Fruitlands in Harvard, MA). My fiancee and I wanted a more casual vibe, so we decided on a full barbecue menu- chicken, pulled pork, brisket, cole slaw, corn bread, mac & cheese, etc. All of the guests raved about the food, and the pulled pork and mac & cheese especially stood out. On top of the wonderful food, what really impressed me with Peppers was the incredible service. Fruitlands was essentially useless in planning and coordinating our wedding, and Michele from Peppers stepped in and took care of everything for us, even though it was certainly not her job. I really don't know what we would have done without her. Peppers made out wedding both wonderful and delicious, and I can't recommend them enough! read more

Peppers catered our wedding. They sold us on a very extravagant tasting and promises of knowing the venue intimately and how to create the atmosphere we wanted. We asked for a relaxed cocktail party where people could easily move about the space. What we got were giant tables that were impossible to walk around forcing many people to sit down at a table and not move all night. The exact opposite of what we wanted. This was after we discussed at length with our sales person and pointed this specific concern out to them weeks ahead of time. They reassured us that when we saw the space with the tables we would be happy. Additionally they ran out of drink mixers and tried to close the bar down an hour early. Our point person was very responsive and friendly but the bar staff was less than polite. They did re-open the bar after my wife, the bride, complained but options were extremely limited. If you think the mash potato bar means cocktail cups with an array of toppings. You would be mistaken, it's a trough of potatoes slopped out on a giant 12 inch plate (remember cocktail party with heavy appetizers). You still get the toppings. Most of the staff was friendly, responsive and food tasted fairly good. My rating is based on peppers completely missing the mark on the most important elements for us. Our wedding wasn't ruined but I can't recommend them especially when you consider the premium price we paid. read more

We worked with Liz at Pepper's for our wedding at Tower Hill and it was great! We had a very eclectic menu and she suggested stations to make it fun for our guests. The stations were a hit, the food was amazing, and our guests can not stop raving about it. They also have a great selection of desserts to choose from. Honestly you can't go wrong with anything on their menu. I did request that the stations for our wedding not be overly themed and they were very accommodating. In the end the service was amazing, the food was delicious, and everything looked perfect. Would totally hire them again. read more

We just used Peppers to cater our second bar mitzvah party,and once again, they exceeded expectations in every way. We've worked with Jody both times and couldn't be happier with the results. As a side note, my kids have multiple food allergies, and Peppers made everything safe for them to eat - including desserts. They also accommodated last-minute allergy requests from several guests. I heard many, many compliments on the food and service. The food was delicious, the décor was way above expectations - all the little touches made it look absolutely amazing - and every single person on the team was professional, efficient, and just nice. I used Pepper's for my recent at-home wedding. I received so many compliments on it - I had more than one guest tell me it was the best food they'd ever had at a wedding. They accommodated several dietary restrictions with ease. There were a few hiccups in communication before the wedding, but everything on the day-of went off without a hitch. Their staff was excellent and professional, the event manager smoothly handled the changes from indoor to outdoor and back to indoor wedding (ah, New England weather), and the food, again, was perfect. Amazing from start to finish. Patricia really understood what my daughters post wedding party for 65 family members was about and did a perfect job. The staff set up in my home before we arrived from the out of town wedding hotel. My home looked wonderful they put together the seating and decorations and the food was fabulously displayed. OMG the food was the best all gluten free, variety, flavor and elegant. The wedding cake not only looked as we pictured but tasted better. They had so many options it was hard to decide ( top layer was gluten free). When they left I did not know that a party had taken place except for the wonderful memories and leftovers. Perfect from start to finish! Pepper's catered our wedding at Tower Hill Botanic Garden and they absolutely stunned us with an incredible experience. At the start, we chose to work with Pepper's because of Liz O'Neil and her friendly and professional response to our initial email inquiry. From that moment on we had an INCREDIBLE experience working with Liz while planning our perfect wedding. She knew exactly what we wanted and went so far out of her way to offer options to us, give alternatives and make the planning process as fun and smooth as possible. Liz even went as far as to offer cheaper comparable options, when available, to help us fit our budget. We just got more and more excited each time we talked and met with Liz. As for the event, WOW, what a GREAT job everyone on the Pepper's team did. Our event manager was Darcy and she really ran that event like it were her own child's wedding. Everything we had planned with Liz was on point, on time and fresh. Nobody had an empty water glass, no table was left uncleared and all the while every staff member was friendly, smiling and polite. Darcy made sure to check in with us periodically and made sure everything was to our liking. We couldn't have asked for more. As for the food, WOW again! If Pepper's had a restaurant, it would be our favorite. The food was incredibly delicious and all of our guests raved about how the food was the best they had ever had at a wedding. By far. Not only was all the food incredible, but the accommodations they offered for our guests with food allergies were OUTSTANDING! We had a guest with a gluten allergy and they made sure she had gluten free rolls, a gluten free meal and they even made sure she got two cupcakes for desert that were gluten free. Our guest told us later that it had been years since she had dessert at a wedding and she was so impressed with Pepper's. Pepper's will ALWAYS be our go to caterer from now on. A+ read more

I have worked with Peppers on several standing, cocktail-style receptions. They are always professional, creative, and a pleasure to work with, and deliver excellent food. Most recently, Jody, Darcy, and team helped make an evening with 200+ guests wonderfully fun, successful, and a great time all around. From the beginning, Jody embraced the baseball-themed event and came up with a fun and tasty menu of creative ballpark favorites, including delicious homemade cracker jacks. Day of, Darcy ensured the evening flowed smoothly. Guests raved about the food and absolutely loved the ballpark theme. Servers got to everyone with passed hors d'oeuvres (the only items on the menu) seamlessly despite the crowd. Peppers also went above and beyond by providing baseball decorations and having staff wear baseball caps that added to our festive atmosphere without being over-the-top or kitschy. I couldn't recommend Peppers more highly. They catered my parents' 50th wedding anniversary party, and the food reached beyond my expectations. It came out quickly and beautifully. We ordered hors d'oeuvres - all scrumptious, a summer strawberry salad (out of this world), salmon (very tasty) and short ribs (which melted in my mouth). They also provided delicious dessert trays and a cake. Because my mom, sister, and I all have to be gluten free we were delighted that their gluten free options were absolutely amazing. I have tried many gluten free cakes over the years, but theirs is simply the best - beyond moist. The other gluten free desserts, the buckeyes and almond joys were an explosion of flavor! At all different times of the evening guests came up to us and commented specifically on how fantastic the food was! Also, the way they set up the tables, bar, food and dessert presentations was absolutely beautiful. Finally, from the first contact our family made with Peppers, to how they packed up the leftovers, they couldn't have been more professional, friendly, attentive, and kind! So glad we got to work with Pepper's for our wedding! They were a little more expensive than some other vendors in the area, but it was worth it. From start to finish, Deborah was so attentive to us, and even scheduled several different menu tastings for us so my mother and grandmother could be a part of it. She was so helpful in her guidance in selecting entrees, and we ended up putting together a really unique and delicious menu! She really took an interest in us as a couple to make sure that the reception would be ours. The presentation was beautiful, and the service was excellent as well.
