She started helping my husband and I plan our wedding about 2 years before our wedding day - and without a doubt planning a wedding from across the country would not have been possible without her. We realized again and again in the months leading up to our wedding we would not have been able to plan anything near what we had envisioned without her. Emily is wonderfully creative and paid such attention to every detail. She got to know us and made sure that the wedding was a reflection of "us" as a couple. One of our favorite moments from our wedding weekend was when Emily brought us into the reception space to see it fully transformed - we just couldn't believe how incredible everything was! I can't tell you how many people commented that it was one of the most beautiful and fun weddings - and also how "us" it was- all due to Emily's design and planning. Her creativity and tireless effort to make our day perfect left me in awe. She was attentive, available, and such a wonderful resource. She is calm, a great listener, and became a valuable friend through the wedding planning process. It was an amazingly beautiful day and we have her to thank for it - on the wedding day we were both able to fully relax and enjoy ourselves knowing that Emily and her team had everything under control. I have had a hard time deciding whether I wanted to make a negative review at all because my wedding was so positive, but I feel it is important for other brides to be made aware of this problem. I won't go into many details (although I did write notes in moments of frustration) but in summary she is very un-prompt in her responses (which towards the end not only is stressful but made things more expensive, like dropping the ball on candles and lanterns that should have been ordered a long time ago; I think I literally signed a contract with the person doing my lights for my tent two weeks before the wedding. It wasn't just me and my mom who were wondering what was going on, but my other vendors who were worried too). Everything that she was suppose to have control over was done last minute. The last month or so of my wedding planning was a lot more stressful then it needed to be because there were still questions unanswered. This was a time that I should have had everything completely ready to go, and everything was, except for items that she was "designing". She was cold and rude, when I was trying to be friendly and fun! All of my other vendors were super enthusiastic, friendly, accommodating and helpful throughout this process and I by no means was a difficult bride. Most of my tight knit group of vendors would respond to me within the hour, or definitely the day. I often didn't hear from her for days. On multiple occasions she referred to my "lower investment" which is why she couldn't do something. Not only is that entirely inappropriate, but in my eyes (and many of my vendors eyes as well) I was paying way too much for what I got (I paid $4600) And what I got was pretty much inspiration, some sourcing, and a little help the day of (which my day of coordinator could have done completely..emily was not there by the way, it was her assistant--courtney who was very nice!). I don't know if it was because of my "lower investment" that she didn't put as much time into my wedding, but her timeline was very off. In order to be successful in this business, you not only need to have the creative touch and ideas (which she definitely has), but you really need to be good with people, happy, organized, enthusiastic and eager to help. When we started planning, we were looking at a lot of venues that were charging outrageous prices, and at the same time not giving us the wedding that we had envisioned and wanted to create. They left no room for creativity. After a few months of looking for a venue, we found one we loved. However, we had to find ALL of the vendors - as the venue was just providing the space. I knew we would have to hire a wedding planner. One night, I was on Instagram and stumbled upon an amazing wedding. It was beautiful, had style and so much energy. There, I found Hermela's contact as she was the planner and immediately contacted her. She responded right away and explained her services and what she offered. We set up a face to face meeting within the next couple of weeks and I was sold! We started planning in January 2019 for a wedding that was on October 4th, 2019. Right away, Hermela provided wedding planning worksheets that focused on the budget, guest list, tasks, etc. Everything was so organized. She was also so understanding that Sean and I live in New York, so when we did come back to Boston my day would be filled with vendor meetings to make use of my time. She is always so efficient and makes great use of your time. In one day, we had a caterer and cake tasting, mock reception set up, and make up trial all in one day! Her endless list of contacts made it so easy to select the best vendors. Everything was booked ahead of time and organized. During the planning process we had constant check ins as we were meeting deadlines for tasks. She was always available and naturally became a friend during the planning. Leading up to the wedding things got busy and payments were due. She made sure I was on a schedule and not waiting until the end to make payments and get overwhelmed. This was so helpful to us. She lead the rehearsal day and made sure everyone knew what they were doing. Then finally, on the wedding day she was up and making sure hair and makeup were in my hotel room at 6:30am. Making sure everyone followed the schedule provided in the Wedding Packet she gave the bridal party. While getting ready, she was facilitating everything at the venue. Then still made it to the hotel to help us finish up, take photos and get to the first look photo location. She was with the guys, us, and the venue. I'll never forget when I walked into the venue the feeling I had when I saw the place. It was beautiful and everything that I had envisioned. Hermela made everything happen that we discussed. My wedding was perfect in everyway and people are constantly complimenting the night. Hermela made this happen for us. She is extremely talented and down to earth. She is extremely easy to work with and very reliable. Being in the wedding industry myself, I am extremely picky about who to entrust on our big day. Having a wealth of contacts to plan our own wedding, we undoubtedly knew Veronica was THE ONE for us! From our first interview with her she was on point, meticulous and had a back up plan for our "back up plan". She listened to our needs and wedding vision, kept me motivated and on time with my checklists and truly "got it". From day one I conveyed to her that we were looking for a "bulldog" day of coordinator/Superwoman that could handle a large wedding party (11 bridesmaids and 5 groomsmen), large family, out of towner guests and whatever drama might enfold. I wanted someone as detailed as I am, if not more but who truly cares and understands the entire process. We found all that in Veronica, and then some! Her attention to detail is above and beyond. She has her templates, checklists and timelines down to a science. The day of our wedding went off without a hitch (at least that I am aware of). That's what I call a GREAT day of coordinator. We wanted a very intimate and simple wedding, but Mary Kate and Carolyn were on top of the little details that we didn't even consider. Without us even asking, they initiated coordinating all of our wedding signage with a local calligrapher. This was a small detail that we never would have thought of, but it was the perfect touch that our wedding needed. In the weeks leading up to the wedding, Carolyn and I were emailing and texting daily. Before the wedding day even arrived, I already felt like I didn't know what I would do without them. On the actual day of they exceeded our expectations in every way possible. They coordinated every detail with each of our vendors every step of the way. My parents kept raving about their level of professionalism. They even tracked down each of my male family members scattered throughout the hotel to personally pin boutonnieres to each of their jackets! They stayed until the very end of the wedding so we didn't have to think about a thing at the end of the night. But the real icing on the cake is that they personally dropped all the gifts off to our apartment (I gave them a spare key and they quietly snuck in while our pet sitter was sleeping!)
