We ate there for lunch while we were in Red Bay Alabama getting our Motorhome serviced. My husband had the sausage/egg and cheese biscuit and hash browns. I had one of the two daily specials, fried fish, French fries, coleslaw and hush puppies. Everything was absolutely delicious and came out promptly and hot. We have been traveling in our Motorhome since May and this was the best fish I have eaten since we have been on the road. Our waitress was very attentive and so was the owner. The owner even came out after we were through eating and asked if we enjoyed everything. We enjoyed the cozy building it is in, the atmosphere and how clean everything was. We highly recommend this restaurant and will definitely return when we are back in Red Bay or close by. read more

Love this little place. We were on a cross country road trip heading to NC when we pulled off on this exit for gas. We stopped at the Marathon gas station and I was none too thrilled at the look of the restrooms. I noticed the Peppertown Restaurant and figured I'd take my chances their restroom was cleaner than the gas station's. My husband and I walked in and were immediately impressed. Decor is humble but cute. Restrooms were very clean! We sat down at a booth and ordered 2 cups of coffee, 2 BLT's and split an order of onion rings. We were served quickly. Coffee was fresh at 4 pm, blt was delicious. Grilled white bread, crispy bacon, fresh lettuce and tomato and just enough mayo. The onion rings were beer battered, light and crispy and not greasy. We were in and out in 20 minutes and icing on the cake was our total was $8.50 including tax. They also had a daily special of vegetable soup that looked delicious. Don't let the outside of this place fool you. It's the best deal around! read more
