I stopped here to eat breakfast on a whim this morning. The staff were very friendly as well as the locals who were eating there. The place was packed but they kept my coffee topped off. I had a meat lover's omelette (I accidentally smothered it in Texas Pete's hot sauce) and it was yummy. If you're passing through the area and wanting a meal, it's worth a stop. read more

I love little local holes in the wall like this!! We stopped in for a late lunch. I had the BLT and fries. Cannot beat the price or the taste for under $5! Amazing! My dad had the philly and said it was great. Mom had the club sandwich and onion rings. Plate was stacked high with delicious onion rings! My uncle had the Fish, fries and slaw. Ate every bite! I'm definitely one for homemade cookin' vs chain restaurants! This place was that 100%! It was like Dad's burgers fresh off the grill. Southern hospitality to a T! Our waitresses were so sweet and friendly! I forgot to get a picture before we ate. It was really good though. I'm giving four stars only because the restrooms were rough. We ate there for lunch while we were in Red Bay Alabama getting our Motorhome serviced. My husband had the sausage/egg and cheese biscuit and hash browns. I had one of the two daily specials, fried fish, French fries, coleslaw and hush puppies. Everything was absolutely delicious and came out promptly and hot. We have been traveling in our Motorhome since May and this was the best fish I have eaten since we have been on the road. Our waitress was very attentive and so was the owner. The owner even came out after we were through eating and asked if we enjoyed everything. We enjoyed the cozy building it is in, the atmosphere and how clean everything was. We highly recommend this restaurant and will definitely return when we are back in Red Bay or close by. read more

My husband and I found this little place on Yelp. He ordered a cheeseburger, then asked for a LOT of jalapenos on it. He said it was real good, and he was glad he hadn't ordered the double cheeseburger because he wouldn't have been able to eat it all. The onion rings here are awesome. Love this little place. We were on a cross country road trip heading to NC when we pulled off on this exit for gas. We stopped at the Marathon gas station and I was none too thrilled at the look of the restrooms. I noticed the Peppertown Restaurant and figured I'd take my chances their restroom was cleaner than the gas station's. My husband and I walked in and were immediately impressed. Decor is humble but cute. Restrooms were very clean! We sat down at a booth and ordered 2 cups of coffee, 2 BLT's and split an order of onion rings. We were served quickly. Coffee was fresh at 4 pm, blt was delicious. Grilled white bread, crispy bacon, fresh lettuce and tomato and just enough mayo. The onion rings were beer battered, light and crispy and not greasy. We were in and out in 20 minutes and icing on the cake was our total was $8.50 including tax. They also had a daily special of vegetable soup that looked delicious. Don't let the outside of this place fool you. It's the best deal around! read more
