I talked with the technician and explained that I needed a service call because I couldn't figure it out. He gives me a friendly suggestion to look for a "hidden" second GFCI, and voila there it is. I reset the 2nd one, and all is well. Point of the story is that they could have just scheduled a service call, but they were friendly enough to help me figure out the problem without me needing to wait (and pay the-stupid-tax for an obvious problem that wasn't really a problem - I won't deny it). Sure, they have better things to do than make an "idiot" call that can be fixed in 30 seconds. Nonetheless, I consider the fact that they gave me their advice "great". And so my 5 star in the review.

I have used Hill Electric several times over the last decade and have had good results. In my last two communications while scheduling work to be done, and confirming a time schedule, along with a process for communication outlined and confirmed by the scheduler via email, the electricians did not receive the communication properly. The time "windows" for an appointment are too wide. Because of this, you may want to plan on "waiting" for an electrician to show up, or they may show up 3-4 hours earlier. If you choose to use Hill Electric plan on being available all day. If you have a job, you may want to take a day of vacation to make sure you are at home all day,..to meet "their" schedule. They don't seem to respect a customer's time schedules. Then again,..there are so many new homes and apartments being build in this county,...they probably don't need to solicit business, and thus, may be ok with losing loyal customers. Just a thought.

This was a standard option when garage shopping Los Angeles but every garage pro in the area had never sold or seen what I looking for and the closest option, which still didn't satisfy our requirements, was 2-3x the price of most doors. Fast forward to Ricky at Garage Door Pro who went above and beyond to research for options outside of his normal network. He ended up finding a Harmonn model that fit the bill, which was more reasonably priced. The new supplier had a delay and shipping issues that weren't Ricky's fault but he constantly kept tab on things for us. After a couple of months, the door arrived and Ricky delivered/installed it within a week in less than 4 hours. It came with a fresh door track, trim and other parts. So far, we haven't had any issues and I don't anticipate any but we have a 90-day service warranty and 3 year product warranty. They took a look at the door, told us they could do the job, and then left. We didn't hear from them for a week. Right before we were about to call another company, Schmitz calls us and says they can get the seal on our door, with an 11:30 appointment time. The team showed up again around 8 AM, swapped the seal quickly, and then left all their trash from the job. I'm not impressed. Yeah, we got our new seal, but it took a whole week for no reason, and the company can't keep their own schedule.
