We had all three doors of our old, renovated house rekeyed when we moved in four years ago and were having continuing issues with all of them. Finally, the front door broke making it impossible to unlock it from both inside and out. We called the company that originally installed the locks but found out they no longer service residential homes. However, they gave us a couple of recommendations, and we feel extremely fortunate that the Lock Doc was the first to get back to us. Bill came within 35 minutes to take a look at our problems and went right to work! Within an hour and a half, he had every lock working beautifully! We were impressed and amazed at the skill, expertise and knowledge Bill had and shared with us. In the end the big problem was the door strike plates all needed adjusting and no new locks were necessary! He was totally up front, honest and reasonably priced. Now we can lock the door with one finger....no tugging or holding the door in anymore! He made sure we understood that was how the lock is supposed to function, and if it doesn't to call him back right away so as to prevent further destruction of the lock. Loc Doc came out to my new house and installed 3 new dead bolts for a fair price and with a 1 year warranty. We needed to rekey our house after moving. His pricing is straightforward, and he was upfront about additional charges as soon as they were discovered (I wasn't clear about what types of locks we were replacing the deadbolts with [the keypad ones cost more to rekey] and we had an issue installing one that he fixed]. This was an amazing service. I was very stupid and got my car locked while running and me not on the good side of the door. I called this number and spoke with Bill Lehr, the owner, and received a knowledgeable and professional customer service on the phone. The promptness of this service was excellent, though I might have been lucky because I can see this man being in popular demand. Bill was easy to schedule with, on time and really professional. I hired him to rekey my locks. During his visit he told me about digital deadbolts (but didn't pressure me to install one). I decided to go with a digital deadbolt and love it. He made sure I knew how to use it and the important features. We got locked out of our house, and The Lock Doc happened to be the first locksmith that popped up in our search. Within 45 minutes Bill had arrived and got us into our home, with no damage to the door/lock. The cost was a bit more than you would expect for a 5-minute lock-picking, but Bill's professionalism and timeliness in getting to our home made it well worth it. I promised the proprietor of this wonderful business that I would write a recommendation, on account for the excellent, almost selfless help that he offered to me after I locked myself out of my car during a rather large snowfall. Bill, the owner, was extremely courteous and helpful over the telephone and made things run crisply, as I am not a Madison native and was weary of the other so-called great locksmiths of Madison. I bought a keypad deadbolt that looked to be an easy task to install. However when I removed the old lock, I found I needed a bigger hole drilled in my steel entry door. I tried a hole saw and basic jig, but the bit moved around and I was worried I would damage an expensive door. I called Bill up and was comforted to know he has done thousands of these and was able to make it over the next day.
