    Turkish breakfast $20.99
    Dora H.

Cute outdoor patio. & friendly service! I would rate the food here bw a 3&4, perhaps a 3.7. I tried the Turkish Breakfast plate at $20.99. It was not bad but kind of pricey. It comes with a Turkish bagel, pastry with feta cheese (not a huge fan of this, it was a little too soft & soggy), egg, beef sausage & pepperoni (these are good, very nicely flavoured), a salad in the middle, sliced havarti cheese, butter & honey, mixed nuts, olives. My friends ordered the Menemen (which looks a bit different than other types of shakshuka we've had, the menemen looks more like scrambled eggs in a tomato broth) and avocado toast. I wish I had tried their baklava & Turkish coffee though! I'll be back again to try those items.

This cute cafe opened up along Nassau Street in about 2 months ago. Steps away from a busy Kensington Market intersection, the patio provides an oasis from the hustle and bustle of the market. They offer sandwiches, in-house baked cookies, vegan brownies, cheesecakes and other middle Eastern sweets. They serve Turkish coffee out of cute little decorative cups. They also offer an assortment of milkshakes and lemonade. I tried the lemon meringue cookie upon recommendation by one of the staff (who bakes the cookies in house). At $5 plus tax, it is pricey for a cookie but it was definitely a premium cookie. Thick, weighty, crispy on the outside but still the white chocolate chips were still gooey on the inside. I enjoyed the noticeable bright lemon flavour to contrast the sweetness of the white chocolate. Will definitely be back to try more of Pera's menu offerings.

A nice spot in Kensington market. Nice street patio set up with umbrellas and water for your pet. I had the Turkish Style breakfast sandwich and Turkish coffee, both of which were great! Finished with baklava, coffee, and the San Sebastián cheesecake, the cheesecake was delicious, with a mousse like consistency, and unlike any cheesecake i've ever tried. The staff was super helpful and really friendly!

Solid cozy Turkish Cafe. Simple decor. Indoor and outdoor seating. Indoors fits about 11 across 5 tables and a couple of bar seats. There are a few electrical power outlets and free wifi (tested at 30mbps dl). Opens early on weekdays. Plenty of food, pastry and dessert options although I didn't try on this visit. I will be back!

Superb Arabica and Turkish coffee, fresh watermelon hibiscus juice, mint lemonade, generous sandwiches (TIP: get the Sujuk sausage and simit!) soups, in-house desserts -- cheesecakes (San Sebastian, crème brûlée, seasonal fruits, pumpkin, etc), macarons, incredible cookies (several made with Belgian chocolate), baklava, tiramisu, nuts, fresh fruit and more. The Turkish breakfast platter is a big win with eggs, grilled Sujuk sausage, simit bread, olives, tomatoes, mixed nuts, salad with sun-dried tomato, and cheeses. Friendly service (the proprietors are often present) with a pleasant patio -- sunlit in the summer, enclosed and heated in the winter.

Turkish coffee with the included sides.

What a sophisticated way to slow down and enjoy your morning (or noon hour in my case) coffee. $5.99 for a wonderful rich Turkish coffee and a selection of sides. Pleasant service, clean with indoor and outdoor seating. Great location to watch folks heading to Kensington market. Thoroughly enjoyed my time.

This small little bake shop had a menu hanging up, but I completely ignored it thanks to the baked goods right behind the counter that I was too busy staring at. I knew right away that I was going to order a Chocolate Croissant because, well, I always order a Chocolate Croissant if one is available. After making my first choice, this strange little baked good caught my eye, and it turned out to be something called a Cruffin.......a Cruffin you say? What is a cruffin? WELL, let me tell you. The cruffin is basically like a muffin, but like, with cheese and pepperoni on it so obviously I hate to order that sexy little bad boy right away. This thing wasn't big, but it was very dense and basically tasted like pizza crust which was absolutely delicious. After eating the cruffin, the Chocolate Croissant seemed way less cool but I ate it anyway. It tasted good and the chocolate was actually spread across the whole thing so they get an even bigger thumbs up for doing it right. Overall, COBS Bread was the spot! I had no idea this was a chain, but who cares, this place was great. I really liked the Cruffin I got and the croissant was really good as well. I will absolutely be revisiting COBS Bread when I come back to Canada and devouring a few more cruffins while I'm at it!

Here's a cinnamon bun, you know what it is lol. The one thing I'd say that will elevate this from a…read more5 to a 10 is if somehow they can get that glaze at the bottom of the bun to be i side of the bun. The interior is dry while the bottom and top is moist. It's height and width is too high and wide so any attempts to bite (to get that moist sweetness to mask the middle dryness) just guarantees a joker's smile of smeared sugar... so, overall a decent bun, but nothing you'd dream daily about. Want to also add the store is very well organized with their display of goods and the service is professional and efficient.

It blends a traditional Italian deli style with a modern downtown vibe and is known for fresh panini made with quality meats and ingredients, many imported from Italy. We tried their "Il Padrino" and "Capricciosa" panini, and both stood out with crispy fresh bread and a great balance of mortadella, prosciutto, salami, cheese, veggies, and sauces. The combination of fresh bread, curated deli meats, and flavorful sauces gives each sandwich a really nice touch. Besides sandwiches, they also carry Italian-style groceries like pasta, cheeses, desserts, and drinks, which makes the visit feel like a quick trip to a small Italian market. It's a great stop if you're looking for a simple but high-quality lunch in the Harbord Village area.

Blink and you'll miss this one! It's down some steps and features so outdoor seating as well. I was intrigued when I heard that another Italian cafe/sandwich shop opened near the Annex/Harbord Village. They have a variety of panini style sandwiches with a fridge/freezer of imported items such as frozen meals, meats, dried and spreads, sauces, cake slices and gelato! All the sandwiches sound delicious! Hard to choose! I went with the Alla Romana $16 (Prosciutto from Abruzzo Italy, Semi-dried cherry tomatoes, Balsamic glaze, Fior di Latte). The bread was crusty & warm - all quality ingredients!! The prosciutto & other topping were plentiful. Great flavours. Fresh! You can tell it was made with care. I was surprised at how big the sandwich was. It was cut in two & placed in a take away container which travelled well. The sandwich was still intact and perfect when I got home. The bread has a good crust but was soft inside to be a good compliment for the filling! I did get a piece of tiramisu & a small single serve cup of gelato from the fridge/freezer to be tried later!! I am a big fan of sandwiches with quality great & quality filling and this checks off the boxes. Staff was friendly and the sandwich is a good value given the top quality ingredients. If you've been to Italy you will appreciate inspired sandwiches & pantry items! Quite a few tables to sit down and enjoy your sandwich with a cold or hot beverage. They have a TV with the Olympics on too! The sandwich picture doesn't do it justice! Go see for yourself!! :)

Looking for a Sandwich place that is different, cutting edge and makes your taste buds melt? Well…read morethis is not your place! I'm going to continue with my overtime take out review series with Sandwich Box. You would think making a sandwich is probably not the most complicated task out there, but this place seems to get it all wrong. My order consisted of an egg salad sandwich on whole grain bread with a side salad. When I received it, I only got the sandwich and the restaurant failed to tell me the salad was no longer included in the combo (yet the price remained the same). That's great that the online menu was not updated to include items no longer available, a simple update would address all these problems knowmsayin? Now on to the actual sandwich, the bread was thick. I mean so thick it looked like there was about a half an inch of eggs inside of two encyclopedias worth of bread. The eggs themselves, totally flavorless and bland. Kinda hard to mess up an egg salad sandwich right? Even Tim Horton's can get that right! To make things short and sweet, I'll be looking over this option the next time I'm working late or considering a sandwich in the downtown area.

I agree that the price for a sandwich plus side salad is quite pricey ($13 including tax) but I like the fact that everything tastes fresh and light, and you have alot of options to customize your sandwich in a healthy way. I ordered the rosemary focaccia with chicken breast, arugula, avocado and chipotle spread plus their usual sprinkle of salt, pepper and squeeze of lime. It's like a gourmet sandwich - the bread was thick, soft with hints of rosemary and yummy. The salad was mostly arugula with carrots- this was very lightly seasoned but at least I won't be hit with itis going back to work! Definitely would come again, although not regularly since it's kinda pricey.
