I was told I had 8 cavities and needed a root canal. I felt odd about how the information was given to me so I decided to go to a few other dentists to get checked out . Turns out I have no cavities and don't need a root canal. I have been going to another dentist for 4-5 years now and haven't had any issues or cavities or root canals. This place seems like a scam and the front desk people are also sales reps. In addition , I would get charged for a cleaning after my insurance . This place is crazy. read more

Dr. Alison let a tool break off during my root canal. She said it was because she was a "perfectionist" She referred me to an edndodontist. He was fantastic. He knew Perfect-a-Smile's practice. I had a feeling they referred a lot of patients to him. Also, she told us we would not be charged for this repair. She was not qualified to discuss the details of how this $1600 corrective procedure would be billed. She made it sound like we would not be charged, when in fact, we were stuck with a hefty co-pay AND a bill from perfect-a-smile. If your general dentist as a close relationship with an endodontist, that is a RED FLAG. Dr. Slaten was m daughter's orthodontist. He did a very professional job explaining her need, and her process was smooth. Before COVID, the practice always left time everyday for "emergency bracket" repair. If my daughter had a problem with a bracket, it could be taken care of that day. Her treatment progressed smoothly. Dr. Alison was my son's orthodontist after COVID. They never did seem to reinstate their "policy" for getting ortho patients in the day the bracket broke. He would have to wait until the next time Dr. Alison was in and that could be days and at times, weeks, or he would just wait until he next adjustment. We understood him to need braces to correct a bite issue, but half way through the process we were told he would need "bonding" This was like being "upsold" We were half way through the process and offered a $600 procedure that was cosmetic when we were clear about wanting treatment that would only affect his bite. They called in Dr. Ryan to back up Dr. Alison's suggestion that he "needed" bonding. We are leaving. Anyone know a good dentist? read more

Saw Dr. Alison for root canal a year and half ago, she was great. Had some issues down the road and made an appt. Got in and they took some x-rays, developed of plan of action and I made a follow up appt. DAY OF APPT- Perfect-A-Smile decides to call and say they were reviewing my chart and noticed that I was coming in mainly for problematic treatment and not preventative treatment. The doc would like to follow standard protocol and get a full comprehensive exam with x-rays. They don't feel comfortable treating me moving forward without this exam. And again, it's Standard Protocol. I said-- If its Standard Protocol why was I seen in the first place and why was a follow up visit scheduled??? Why call me two hours before my appt and tell me I'll need to owe hundreds more now because your doc had a moment of clarity that they need to follow protocol?? MAYBE follow standard operating procedures from the start and don't waste people's time. Tell me I need a visit PRIOR to seeing me for my problem and telling me how you'll fix it. Now I'm left with an issue with my tooth and no one to fix it. I understand they want to have a "good look" but they mishandled the situation. read more

This is by far the worst experience I have ever had at a dentist. They performed unnecessary procedures and ruined my teeth in the process. They never completed a crown from 10 months ago yet I have already paid in full for it. Google Ohio State Dental Board license #30.023155. They cut my nerve in my lower jaw. Do not go here, please. As the reviewer below states they can clean teeth and that is about all I would trust to have done. I contacted them telling them I could not feel my cheek or lip after they attempted an implant. I hired a personal injury attorney and my records were gathered. It was very clear they severed my nerve on the films. To this day, I still have no feeling in my lower lip and right side of my cheek. I had to see an Oral Surgeon for additional emergency surgery and a debridement from the massive infection Perfect a Smile did not treat. The dentists' did not care they permanently damaged my nerve. They will bill your credit card and will keep your money even when they have caused damages to your jaw/mandible/teeth/ and cut your nerve. We lost thousands of dollars to pay out of pocket for other specialists to fix their negligence and dental errors. The front desk staff is kind - but please do not have any important dental work done here. read more

As it says in the description, General Dentistry! Not everyone is a specialist in this group although they will try to sell you add on you don't need. If you have a gum issue see a Periodontologist or if you need a root canal see an Endodontist. They recommended these services that would cost thousands of dollars with ongoing treatments. When I followed up with an Endodontist the gum treatments they recommended where not necessary. For the root canal they drugged me and it had to be redone (without drugs) by the Endodontist because the drilling was not center and left some of the root still intact. Finally, a cap needed to be placed on the tooth to strengthen and in hopes of saving it. Neither the Periodontist nor the Endodotist could NOT confirm that the root canal was needed from the beginning. I have never had a cavity! read more

I have been a patient of Dr. Richard Slaten and Dr. Kim Fury since I was 3 years old. They have always made me feel comfortable and given me great experiences. I truly believe the reason I have never had a problem with my teeth, is because I have been getting cleanings and check ups religiously my whole life. HIGHLY recommend this office.
