They ran me through how the session would go and what to expect. I would highly recommend any first timers to come visit this studio. I will definitely be coming back!

Still, everyone was in good spirits and had a really warm, close-knit community feel. However, I think most of the time, the classes are much smaller from the conversations I heard from others. It had a different vibe from other studios I've been to where it was just go and do yoga and go home. Everyone seemed to know each other, and it was a nice change. Claudia, who runs the studio was very welcoming and friendly. I wasn't able to find any free parking in the area, but for those coming by the train would be convenient as it is right by Holdom station. There is no waiting area, so if you arrive early in the winter months, you can wait at the nearby Starbucks or Subway until your class time.

She is casual and funny, and with her guidance I have had major breakthroughs in different poses. Its a single room studio with a large patio and a window facing the street. There is less than 6 people or so to every class I have been to. I have always been made to feel 100% welcome, it's not intimidating like other studios. The teachers provide a lot of personal attention, especially in smaller classes - which I really appreciate. They have small items for sale such as Lara bars, loose leaf tea (their own special blends), books, and Thai pants among other things. I recently bought a reusable Libre tea bottle and some loose leaf tea- they were having a 30% off sale so I got them for a good price :)

We did three times a week, which comes to $63 per session per person ($378 for a week for both of us). Each week, we did upper, lower, and cardio/hiit. Pro tip: if you do delegated training (aka your PT follows a clinical plan put together by the in house physio), you can claim it through your insurance. Delegated training is 1 on 1, not partner training though. Pilates also counts too!

I have all emails & social media screenshots to back me up in case of any legal dispute. I will not be updating or responding to any further attempts by said biz owner to bicker publicly. After I had posted the original review below, biz owner Chris left a public response, in which he made up lies about our interactions, and posted up my private personal info (full name & Instagram handle). In his response, he was deflecting from the real issue (that they made a mistake with the pass expiry date, said they fixed it, but never did). He did NOT address or mention this mistake in his response at all, instead choosing to focus on an earlier denied pass extension request that I had already accepted was denied. He also stated (for all you future customers) that The Hot Box Yoga Sale passes are for people who "cannot afford" to use their studio at regular prices. His abusive & customer privacy-violating response was flagged & has since been removed by Yelp HQ. In all my very little (3 short emails & 2 Instagram comments in total) communication with The Hot Box Yoga, I have only been polite & stated facts, hoping they would fix the pass expiry mistake they had made. I have never requested for any compensation, nor have I ever expected any from them. When the mistake was never fixed despite my attempts to reach them, I left the review simply to let others know about my personal experience dealing with this studio. I'm sure anyone who sees this will have a better idea of their operations & customer service standards after reading this. - Original review below: Used to be a fan of The Hot Box Yoga for a few years now, but this recent incident has showed me how their operations are and how they treat customers. They made a mistake on a Black Friday sale pass, which wound up expiring two days before the advertised date. Both my friend & I had bought this pass. When I reached out to them via email, the owner Sarah claimed to have fixed the issue, but did not actually do so. As a result, we were unable to book classes on the last 2 days. Upon trying to reach them politely again on social media to get the issue fixed for good, they blocked me. (Funny thing was, they were even following & interacting with me before, because I was always posting positive pics & tweets about their classes & events. My social media followers will know this for a fact.) Issue was never resolved, emails sent were ignored. We were unable to use the remaining classes on our class passes. It is obvious that they did not want to fix the mistake, nor did they want this legit customer issue to be known anywhere public. Terribly disappointed and never returning back here again. Fellow yogis, always be sure to check your pass expiry dates - even if they made a mistake with the dates, they will not fix it!

Unfortunately I couldn't get ahold of anyone on the phone but read walk ins were welcomed so I figured we'd give it a shot. I was right! We were greeted by Sarah and she kindly welcomed us into the 10am class (which we got there with minutes to spare). She assisted us with mat rentals, water, and reassured my partner that though this was her first time, she'll be fine. Sarah is a great instructor, even helping my partner with some poses. We would absolutely get a membership if we lived here or were even staying longer! Very clean and pleasant. She also suggested taking the scenic route back downtown--which we did. Great experience! They have super comfortable full body massage chairs that you can fall asleep in (even my dad enjoyed them and he's not a huge spa person). My partner and I also ended up doing one of the private sound bath experiences and it was incredible. Our therapist made it feel very relaxing and it is one of the most unique experiences I've had- they lay you on an instrument bed and you get to feel all the vibrations.
