Summary: Beautiful patio cover; dirty work site; lack of transparency in pricing; marginal customer service Perfect Home Bakersfield was highly recommended to us by a neighbor. We really liked the work they did installing a solid patio cover at the neighbors house and we were in the market for a patio cover ourselves so we decided to use Perfect Home Bakersfield. Their salesman, Alex, came out and quoted us for the patio cover and we placed the order. After the initial quote I called to make a few changes. I called multiple times asking to get an updated quote on the price and I was never given one. At one point, the receptionist knew I needed to talk with the manager, Manuel, about my question and she tried to transfer me to him three times, but he refused to speak with me. On the day of install the two-man crew showed up on time and completed the install in one day. Phew! In the hot Bakersfield summer we were so happy to have shade and the patio looks great! But they left a mess. They blew small bits of trash, nails, screws, and aluminum shavings into our lawn and flowerbeds. We have small children whom they met that morning. My kids like to go barefoot in the backyard and they couldn't! They also forgot to finish the install of the ceiling fans; the decorative cover that sits flush with the ceiling was left hanging on the fan motor. When I called to pay and finally find out the changes made to my estimate the numbers seemed off. After further discussion, I was told that the cost of the rain gutters had been left off the original estimate. I called the salesman and the front office at least 3 times each asking for more information on my quote and I was given the runaround every time I called. They all just passed the buck to the manager who refused to speak with me. It wasn't until my patio was installed that they finally spoke with me about the price again and raised it by $600! They were the lowest price in town for a patio cover, but I was quite disappointed in their service. Buyer beware. read more

This is one if those things you put off for years thinking it's going to cost an outrageous price , I called to have someone come measure and give me an estimate for a patio cover. We had decided that's where our tax refund would be spent and thinking it would take all of it but when he told us the price my husband and I stared at each other in shock WHY DIDN'T WE DO THIS YEARS AGO !! When our home was built in 2006, the patio cover was not installed correctly to drain the rain to the gutter. Dirt and debris built up in the patio cover's gutter. FYI: this incorrect install was NOT done by Perfect Home. To remedy the problem I called Perfect Home. Alex came out to conduct the estimate which I thought was a bit high but I rolled with it. Arturo was the installer. He installed a new downspout which perfectly matched the covered patio. The job was done in less than 15 minutes. Now rain will drain off the patio cover perfectly and there will be no mud or debris on the patio. Every time I look at the new downspout I am super happy with the job Arturo did and now feel the price was reasonable based on the excellent job. I highly recommend this company! read more

They tell me the soonest they can come give me an estimate is a week out... then IF I use them the work would not start for a week after that... wow.. a simple quick repair... Sam was very good at our first contact. We wanted rain gutters and the two installers, Manuel and Arturo, listened to what we needed and discussed options with us. The final product was completed in half a day, yesterday, and was exactly what we wanted and needed. They look great! Our only issue was, when we called the office, we had to leave a message and wait for a return call. This was discouraging because a couple of times we needed to tell them we needed to change the installation date and the time to do so was short. My husband finally went to their office to reach them the second day of waiting. Sam gave us two samples to bring home, which helped us make our color decision. Conclusion: Sam and the installers were wonderful, but the office needs more staff, hence four stars not five. read more

We just had rain gutters installed by Perfect Home Southern California, and are very happy with their work! There was some miscommunication between the gentleman who gave us the quote (Jorge), and the gentlemen who performed the work (Mitch)--however, Mitch drove back to our house the next day to fix the problem and relocate two different downspouts. We live in a very secluded area and Mitch came out after work hours to fix the downspouts, which was very nice of him. This business is an absolute joke. I had an appointment scheduled from 12-2pm. They showed up about 1:30 only to sit in front of my house for about 10 minutes only to never get out of their van. Never came to the door. Then they drove off. Never called. I called the office several times and NO ONE answered the phone. I called the salesman Alex several times. NO ONE answered! How do you run a business and not answer your phone? What if there was an emergency or an issue for that matter and you can't get ahold of anyone! And I mean anyone! The phones just ring and ring. They did finally show up at about 4:30 expecting to do the work as if they hadn't horribly screwed up my day. Thanks but no thanks. They lost what would've been a $1000.00 job (they were aware I was adding work to my original est of $550.00) because they can't answer their phone much less take into consideration the time their customers take off work to be available for their appointments. This business came highly recommended from another business owner that I greatly respect and the community greatly respects but I would NEVER recommend this place. It's an absolute joke. We contracted and hired Perfect Patio to remove/install old patio cover and rain gutters. What a mess. Repeated calls for small errors. The girls in the office were very sweet, but clueless to what job(s) were being performed. They would call and schedule a day and time, then not show up or show up on an entirely different day. Phone calls are not returned by Manuel at all, even when he himself promised to call back. When you do finally reach him, he tells you, he was busy. Sorry, I was your customer first. The job does look nice even though we have had to have them back to repair a couple of leaks and repair the unsightly look of the roof tiles. The owner came out and made everything right, which is exactly the right thing to do and I thank him for that. I only score this experience so low because of communication issues with the staff and each other. Work is superior and recommended as long as those on staff can get the right communications with one another. read more

We had a patio installed back in March. At first we were pretty happy with the way it turned out. We were given a great price and customer service was good. We mainly delt with Sam who was really nice. We were promised to have our permit in hand within 2 weeks after the installation. Well, here we are almost 5 months later and still no permit. Both my husband and I have called about 6 different times to inquire about the permit. All 6 times we have been promised to have our permit mailed to us the next day by Britney. We have asked to speak to the manager and we have just been transferred to Sam. They do not return calls as promised either. At this point, If we do not have our permit within a week, we will definitely be filing a complaint with the city and pursuing a law suit or something. read more
