I'm writing this review for Natalia.(@Blackstarbaby tattoo) I have an extensive history with being tattooed, and Natalia is by far the friendliest, most interesting, and DEFINITELY the most unique artist that I've ever met. She gave me a chupa chups lolli while I layed there luxuriously and chatted with her about anything and everything. She's skilled in most styles, and her portfolio is incredible. She's also incredibly friendly and warm. Perfect Image is a great studio. Very clean and professional- but it's the artists that count. If you want to be tattooed in Banff, I hope you are lucky enough to be tattooed by Natalia!! read more

My friends and I came in here on Monday afternoon to get pierced, and the guy at the counter asked how long we planned to be in town. We let him know we were staying till Thursday and he let us know piercings are discounted to $30 on Wednesdays, jewelry included. What a FREAKING deal! The staff was incredibly friendly and the fact that they told us about the deal showed showed their great character; I feel like most people would try to conceal that kind of information to pocket some extra money. I can't recall my piercer's name, but he was friendly and hilarious. He has red hair, gauges, a beard, tattoos, and a large picture of his black dog's face on the wall - hope that helps. I'm describing him because I highly recommend him! His tip jar was a picture of Britney Spears, during her bald era, with the quote "Tip Me Baby One More Time." Love it! He also seemed knowledgable about piercings and was able to tell me how I can try to heal two previous piercings of mine that are being fairly stubborn. I'm very pleased with the customer service I received and the piercing. My only regret is that I didn't get another. You really can't beat that price, and they did a great job! I would recommend this place to anyone. It's unfortunate that they don't have one closer to where I live because all the places in my vicinity seem so subpar now! read more

Horrible experience at this location. Firstly, when I booked a walk in appointment, the lady at the front was rude about me booking. When I was able to come in later that day for two very simple and small tattoos. One being 6 small dots on my arm with rainbow colours, the second being a taurus symbol on my ankle. For the rainbow tattoo, the artist failed to clean the needle properly between changing colours. The result was supposed to be a yellow dot, but instead it has green in it. He was very quick to notice this mistake, which probably made the result less obvious then it could have been. So I am left with a rainbow tattoo with a greenish yellow, and no purple as my skin has rejected the ink. I had an allergic reaction to the purple ink, a fairly common thing actually. I called the location to get information on this, including the brand of the ink they use, so I can avoid problems with future tattoos. The guy on the phone told me to email a photo of the tattoo, and he ensured me he would get back to me by the end of the day. It has now been two weeks since that original phone call. I called at the one week mark, and again was told I would get a reply right away, as the artist would be in a couple hours. Still HAVE NOT gotten a reply. Lastly, my second tattoo is already faded and looks like complete garbage. I have taken care of it the same as every tattoo I have received in the past. I will now have to pay to get it touched up elsewhere, as I will not be returning to this establishment. read more

If I could give no star I would. Tried to get a walk in tattoo but the gatekeeper receptionist was more concerned about preening herself and her hair than actually getting me in to see an artist. Told me that there was one person ahead of me and that she would just call when someone was available. 3 hours later, no call so I went back in and there were 4 people in the shop "ahead" of me. I was then told it would be about an hour. Said I would wait. She then said well, that's just an estimate. Didn't feel welcome. Won't be back. Do your business a favor and get rid of the unprofessional gatekeeper who smelt of last nights brewery offerings. read more

The guy at the counter was very rude to me and my girlfriend We both wanted small walk-in tattoos, and he said to me that the artist wouldn't be into it even though it was just a constellation like I get it it's a boring tattoo but it would be easy to do i don't understand why he was so rude to us. every question we asked he gave a bit of a snarky reply. overall not the greatest experience. read more

DO NOT GO HERE! Shocker all the reviews are crap. Did a walk in and got a botched tattoo. My friend and I went in to get matching heart tattoos. I questioned the drawing and the guy from Germany did not like that. I wanted both sides to be symmetrical. Apparently he doesn't like being questioned. The whole experience went downhill from there. He was a complete jerk, tried to tell me I didn't get his sense of humour because I am Canadian. Shockingly rude as we are in Canada. He did the tattoo and of course it was not symmetrical. He could care less. The manager also didn't care. Said the French chick could fix it but she could not understand or see that the sides of the heart were not the same. She was rebandaging my tattoo and as I was trying not to cry she said she wished there were cameras so I could see how I was acting. Then the manager said that it was funny how we thought everyone was being rude and that we were the problem. I left disgusted and insulted and with a horrible tattoo. It is the size of a dime I can't believe the guy couldn't handle it. Got a free tattoo after care kit that included a lollipop and a travel size cleansing wash as my consolation for the horrible treatment and botched tattoo. They said I can come back to get it fixed. Pretty sure 8 hours is way to long to drive. Please do not go here. Their treatment of clients is beyond despicable. read more

If I could give no stars I would. Was not a costumer and will never be. After witnessing my friend who was a paying costumer be talked down to by the front counter staff about how much work his original tattoo idea would be for a walk in, we promptly left to discuss other options. When we returned my friend filled out his information to be put on a 'Walk-In Wait-List". We spent the entire day in Banff waiting for his appointment which was not the issue. The tattoo's were done on June 29th, 2016. After about a week, his black ink was almost completely faded and looked as if it had been done with pen ink and a stitching needle. The second tattoo my friend received was six rainbow dots, the artist failed to clean in needle in between colors which resulted in my friend receiving two mostly green dots, instead of a green and a yellow. read more

While the front end staff and the piercer were both friendly, the piercer didn't give *any* aftercare instructions. I've had several piercings and more tattoos, so that wasn't necessarily and issue - but about a week after the piercing, I noticed that it was already starting to reject/migrate and was very painful. Went to the local piercing shop and was told very plainly that they should *not* have pierced my navel as the shape I have makes it nearly impossible to heal properly - short story, I took it out and now I'm out the money for the piercing. read more

I went to have my seconds done with my daughter and my sister and we had excellent service. The staff were friendly, courteous, and professional and the whole procedure was conducted hygienically. The piercer made sure we were comfortable and explained what he was doing and ensured we were happy with the location of the seconds. We were a walk-in and seen to straight away which we were happy with - though we did go late afternoon. I would highly recommend Perfect Image for piercings. read more

I would give no star if there was an option. Last month (or maybe a month and a half ago) I went into to get a small 5 letter tattoo on my foot. It was a very simple design and font. I was scheduled in for around 4pm or so, and came back when it was time. I Picked a font off my tattoo artists computer. (Artist name i believe is Kone - red hair, mid 30's, real bad fucking attitude in general) Anyway this guy seemed to be a little off, he was very unfriendly to begin with but i continued anyway. When it came time for my tattoo he started spraying antiseptic on my foot (Great thanks a bunch) but i accidentally moved my foot ever so slightly. He gave me the most horrified look for some reason. The Seran-wrap on the bench was sticking to my foot as it was kinda hot that day, and so i would lift my foot up slightly to unstick it from the wrap (This is well before any tattooing even began) He didn't like that either. Just before we were about to start i gave my foot one last little move to get comfortable. He let out a big sigh and condescendingly asked me if i was going to be moving my foot the entire duration of the tattoo. (This is when this douche really started to fuck me off) I explained to him that i actually wanted the tattoo to look good as well (What a surprise as its on MY body for the rest of my life) Look i am not going to lie i could've moved my foot ever so slightly but only when he was pausing to get to the next letter. He then asked me (In a condescending tone again) whether this was my first tattoo ever. Wow. I have about 8 tattoos now - and this was my FOURTH foot tattoo for the record (don't understand how he didn't see them? Or maybe he was just taking the piss and being a prick) Anyway, the whole experience was terrible. He shook his head literally the whole time. Constantly shaking his head like i'd completely ruined his fucking day or something by paying him for his 'services'. Like i said this wasn't my first tattoo, i wasn't screaming, crying or making a fuss. I feel terrible for anyone who has him as their artist for their first ever tattoo - it was not a comfortable experience at all. I am not the type of person to write any online reviews - in fact i had to join up to Yelp just to write this review. I am writing this because i wouldn't even be annoyed if Kone was a jerk but did a good job on the tattoo. But he couldn't manage to do that either, to put it nicely - the tattoo looks like shit. Real shit. Some of the letters are thicker than others, some aren't filled in the middle. Out of all my tattoos this has been the worst outcome - and the most unpleasant experience with an artist. I am also writing this a month and a half later to give this guy the benefit of the doubt and to see what it looked like when it was completely healed. But alas, a five letter word was clearly too much to ask. I was seriously fuming when i had to pay him, i really should have gone with my gut and just walked off. In fact a week or so later i spoke to a friend who'd had an equally shit experience with Kone. It said on the window that Kone was new to Perfect Image tattoos. Still no excuse to be such a cock. Obviously this doesn't apply to any other artists - i am sure the other guys and girls in there are doing a great job and are professional and take their work seriously - But if you're after a pleasant experience with a professional artist - then i would seriously consider skipping over Kone - wait for another artist. Trust me. It'll be worth it. Kone, if you're reading this - thanks again for the shittest tattooing I've seen since Thailand 2007. Cheers buddy! read more
