Perfect Nails isn't a fancy place but it is clean and efficient. I have been coming here for years and they do a fantastic job, and at a very fair price. My nails have always looked amazing after coming here and have lasted for several weeks. I was looking for a reasonably priced place for waxing when I came across perfect nails on yelp. While the lady who waxed my arms was sweet and made sure that every inch was clean, the wax applicator that she used was very unhygenic. For the first time in my life have I seen someone use a bottle like wax applicator (instead of a stick or knife). The wax was dripping on the side of the bottles making it very messy, sticky and unhygenic. Some of the bottles even had broken caps! I was scared that I might get a rash or an infection since I am sure they use the same applicators for everyone, but luckily nothing happened! They dont have a separate room for waxing, there was just a curtain separating a section from the entire salon. It was a nightmare when I looked around while getting my arms waxed. The curtain was black and full of dust...so were other corners and walls in the room! The salon definitely needs to up its cleanliness and hygiene! I don't think ill come back here ...atleast not for waxing! read more

Think again before getting a cheap mani&pedi. I went the day before I was leaving for vacation to get one & at first I thought it wasn't to bad for the price, even tho I thought they weren't very sanitary. Then the next day my gel manicure started turning black. I'm not sure why it happened but it turned my pink nails really dark. It was less then 24hours after, I started to see black appearing. No less then 48 hours I was removing the gel polish because my nails were just getting darker. I don't know how this happened, she put my nails under for more then 60secs, on each coat. Maybe it wasn't the timing, I was thinking she used the top coat on someone with black nail polish, but I've gotten gel many times before and this never happened. My moms boyfriend recommend this place, and he family seems to really like it. But my first experience there wasn't so good. The massage was nice but overall I had to remove my gel polish less then 48 hours later due to the darkness appearing. I don't think I'll return here. My sister came along with me and she wasn't please ether. Maybe this post will help them get better. read more

Based on other Yelp reviews, I scheduled an appointment to have a mani/pedi with Cindy. I arrived a few minutes late due to car trouble, and had just enough time to pick out a nail color before she was ready for me. I should note that I went at 11 am and was Cindy's first appointment. By the time she was finished with my pedi, all of the other nail techs were busy with clients, so I can see how one might have to wait if you arrive later in the day, even for an appointment. The pedi chairs are not brand new, but they were functional, and I watched as one of the other techs scrubbed her footbath out with soap and sponge. Other instruments were generally wiped with alcohol, and I saw some barbicide, without any instruments in it though. It seems like they make an effort for cleanliness. For the pedi, it took about 45 minutes total. The massage was very light, more like just rubbing in lotion rather than putting any muscle into it. She may have been more gentle with me because I'm 7 months pregnant, but it seems you can opt for a more rigorous/longer massage for extra $. Some of the other techs were a bit faster with their pedis. Cindy was very thorough and careful with the grooming, and personable - we chatted a little about my pregnancy. The mani took about 30 minutes. She made sure to trim and shape them as I preferred and asked if I liked the shape before moving on. I had a regular mani, not gel or shellac, but I saw plenty of other women getting these while I was there. My total was $32, and she seemed to assume I was paying by credit card (I had cash), so I don't think they have a problem with cards. I probably wouldn't go here for a facial, but they do nails well and on a budget. If you want to be pampered, I would suggest one of the other higher priced salons. I decided to check this place by word of mouth, since I'm originally from the Bronx and still looking around for a decent nail salon. I heard that they do great pedicures & manicures, but maybe that's just it. I went to get acrylic tips and my eyebrows done. They did great with my eyebrows but a not so great job on my tips. Not even a week after getting them done, I began to get air bubbles little by little in each of my nails. I thought it was because of me doing dishes, but I still never had this problem before when I get my nails done elsewhere. However, both me and my sister in law began to have the same issue with our nails after going there, so I knew it just wasn't me. So for acrylic tips, I would not recommend this place. read more

I just moved to Reston from Texas and was looking for a new nail salon and eyebrow waxing place. Of course I had to check out handy dandy yelp for some opinions. Even though this place had mixed reviews, I decided to give it a shot and I'm glad I did! I got Cindy for both my pedicure and eyebrow waxing. She did a killer job on both services. She really took her time with the pedicure and gave a nice foot and leg massage. She also did a fabulous job with my eyebrows. I have a scar on one of my eyebrows so it's a little tricky to get both even. As mentioned by another reviewer, the floors do look rather dirty. However, it's a really light colored tile that looks like it's been stained from years of use. I'm sure no matter how much they scrub, those spots aren't going to ever disappear. Go-to place for my best friend and I to get out nails done, and get waxed. All the ladies couldn't be nicer and they remember us every time. They always do a great job, they're open late so we can go after work, and ESPECIALLY regarding their waxing: the price is right. I really enjoyed my experience here. I was able to schedule an appointment last minute and thru took me right away. I got a vintage inspired gel mani and pedi and my eyebrows waxed. Cindy did all the services and was very sweet. I was exhausted and she told me to go to sleep while I was getting my pedi. I have been to various nail salons in the Herndon/Reston area and was looking to shake things up. Since Perfect Nails has such a high rating I gave them a try... and was not impressed. The salon is dirty, the towels are dirty, and the tools have clearly been used multiple times over. Love this nail salon. I know all the nail techs now and have been coming here for a few months for my acrylic fills and spa pedicures. It's so relaxing and they take their time.. I'm usually here for 2 hours to do both so if you plan on doing the same make sure you have the time and patience to sit through it. I always tip a lot here because the massage they give you feels like it's 40 minutes on my poor tired feet and they just deserve it in my opinion. Great attention to details. The only thing I would complain about would be that I want a wider gel color selection. They have a lot, but you can never have enough. i keep trying out other nail Salons and always end up coming back here. the staff is consistent and friendly and the owner is a hard working woman who is aiming to please. The Salon itself may not be fancy but is well equipped with everything you may need for waxing, facials and nails. I do recommend calling in as they have a steady flow of walk ins, but, if you decide to walk in without an appointment they always find a way to take you in, and usually keep their word for how long it will take them to get to you. what keeps me coming back is the care and pride they take in their work, i love getting my facials at Tina's too, i know its not a fancy massage room/spa but her hands are magical on the face and massaging the shoulders. in terms of waxing, this is the only place i would go to for Brazilian, always done with care, respect, and most importantly CLEAN wax and strips. Cindy is quick and efficient in body waxing. i have been a client here for over 4 years and while no place is fabulously perfect, Tina's Perfect Nails comes pretty darn close in keeping clean, timely, friendly and very affordable service. I made appointment with Kathy. She is very lovely and nice. she can do everything from head to toes. I had my fake eyelashes done, very good job, it didnt hurt and stay pretty long compare to all the previous ones that i had. she also wax my eye brown and legs. My gel nails last for at least 4 weeks. I was very impressed of how long it last. I love her paintings too. Totally recommended this nail salon, and special Kathy. read more

I've gone to other places in the past and acrylics usually hurt but here I've never had any pain which is awesome. The lady Lynn who did my feet spent more time gossiping and laughing that she cut me twice so bad She had to put Neosporin on me to stop the bleeding .Then she proceeded to pour alcohol on the toes she cut haphazardly, followed by a bad paint job. If i could give zero stars i would. DIRTY & Unsanitary. I recently moved from Alexandria and i am used to going to a nail salon that uses new tools for each customer and liners for the pedicure bowl. Came in for a pedicure on 2/10/18 and was disgusted - they didn't use new tools. Also, the nail technician tried to be sneaky but i caught her using washing up liquid soap to scrub my toes. I guess that's what you get for a $22 pedicure. Will not be returning. read more

I literally couldn't rate this place any lower. I tried it out a few months ago after moving to the area and trying new places, i called ahead and asked if they did SNS nails and was told yes. I get there and the lady doing my SNS tells me it is her first time ever doing them... she asked questions after questions to other girls working how to do them. They looked sooo terrible but i felt bad 2 hours later so i was nice whatever and went somewhere else the next week. Today i don't know why but i went back cuz i figured i could get a girl that knew what she was doing. I specifically made sure the girl that messed my nails up the first time wasn't working and the girl i had today was no better!! She dipped every finger at once and then went over with the SNS powder so the gel was already dried up and was hardly showing! I told her they were too see through and asked her to redid the last two fingers and she got an attitude and called 2 other women over and they all kept telling me they were fine even though you could see my ENTIRE NAIL through the "powder" that was hardly there!! She's like only 1 needs redone..: i asked her to redo them all so they matched and she literally refused. The ladies kept looking at me and laughing and talking about my nails. I was here for literally 2 hours. I can't even believe how humiliated i felt going here and what a awful experience. The women are very dirty too and are all eating food when getting nails done. I am a diabetic, so I have to be very careful when it comes to foot and hand care. I've been going to Perfect Nails for about four years, just because the price is right. I keep returning. Although, I've gotten a fungus under my toenails more than once, and once a manicurist cut my foot by mistake (not good for a tennis player). You never know when you show up if the place is going to smell toxic, either. The salon has no fans, and sometimes I would rather walk out than breath in what fumes are in the air from the acrylic nail procedure. Once I was talked into getting the gel nail polish process, but because my nails are split, the polish didn't last any longer than any other. Then to extend the nail polish when the bottle is low, twice the manicurist watered down the polish I selected with remover. Although I grumbled about it this last week to my attendant, I doubt she understood English! Well, this last week as a result, the polish started coming off at the tips of my fingernails the very next day. I think I've learned my lesson not to return. In my opinion, I don't think any salon should adhere to that policy of watering down nail polish. If you pay for a manicure and select a polish that is no longer good, the manicurist should either get a new bottle of the same color, or tell you that there isn't enough polish left in the bottle and to select a different color. Nonetheless, most all of the ladies who work at Perfect Nails are nice, and do their best to please. My nails always came out looking beautiful. I have enjoyed manicures and pedicures at Perfect Nails in Herndon for many years. The women who work there are professional - very skilled at what they do, and very hard working. The customer service is excellent. The equipment is clean. And the price is right! I have had manicures or pedicures done in other places for twice the price...that were not half as good. Perfect Nails is in a shopping center that has recently lost a few tenants, but of course that has not changed the quality of work done within the shop. English is not the first language of the women, who work there, but their English is good... and it is enough to be able to communicate with them. I am impressed that they speak as much English as they do. I do not speak any of their language. I highly recommend Perfect Nails. I can honestly say that I have never left there...dissatisfied with the quality of the work....or the customer service. read more
