It's someone you have to be able to talk to, someone you have to be able to trust, and someone you won't mind spending hours with! The process can take a while, so you need to find the right person. I've had bad experiences in the past with unmotivated real estate agents. I found a GEM with Kathy Llamas! Kathy specializes in distressed properties (i.e. - Foreclosures, Short Sales, etc). She has experience in this market - and nows how to handle the sales. We were looking for a short sale or foreclosure (to take advantage of the great deals in the housing market). Not only did Kathy spend time with us ensuring that we found the "right" home for us, she also got us in touch with a mortgage broker who got us an excellent interest rate. Her experience helped push our short-sale through the red tape - and got us into our home faster than many of our friends who started the process months ahead of us. I can't recommend Kathy enough. Upon calling, I have received terrible customer service (Nathan) and fake phone numbers for the corporate line that I was told to google myself. First American does not stand by their services or offer any bit of a guarantee past 30 days. So when my kitchen flooded from a faulty install, they did not care. At this time, I have a GE microwave that was replaced and installed incorrectly, causing it to fall and is likely bringing my cabinet down with it. I have contacted First American, they told me they can't do anything. They gave me GE's phone number and the corporate number at FA so I could file a complaint. GE stated that First American needed to call and would stand by on a 3 way call. Upon calling the corporate line, I was interrupted mid-sentence by Heather as she "transferred me to warranties" -- okay, fine. It rang twice and a voicemail came on saying the following, "You have reached the office of the president..." Great. Another run around. As far as I'm concerned this company has wasted my time and money and was more of a struggle than any bit of help. I have already paid the amount to have a new faucet installed (5 months after the install of one I waited a year for from First American) and I need to have my microwave re-installed. These are small requests, which really exposes First American's impotence.

I've told Alex that I have a vacation coming up in late November of this year (2022) and am afraid that I may not be able to sign the papers because I'll be out of the country. They don't upkeep their rentals.

Being first time home buyers Karla and her team at Keller Williams provided us with a lot of…read moreinformation and answered all of our questions with a lot of knowledge and experience. She was kind and you just knew she would do whatever it took to do her best by you. Her and her team were responsive late unto the evenings and all 7 days of the week. We had a hiccup with a shady seller's agent (we were the buyers) where we believed he would use common practice and ethics. However, unfortunately we lost a portion of our escrow even though we believed, through our conversations with Karla and her team, that we were still safe. Karla felt awful about this and made this right as we regrouped from a bad real estate deal and provided a credit at closing on the next home. This kind of integrity speaks VOLUMES! In the last 72 hours of the transactions to purchase our first home, there was silence from all at the KW team and this was frustrating and confusing since her team had ALWAYS been so responsive and helpful up until this point. We gave her and her team the benefit of the doubt and we were happy to see her smiling face at our closing table! In some ways it felt as if we had been through a challenging mission with her and we were grateful to have her and her team on our side. Even after closing Karla and her team helped to provide some information for us. Karla, Florentino, and Katie were always happy and encouraging to speak with (even when things were not going well with negotiations.) A specific time, I remember Katie, from the team, being very encouraging and supportive when we were truly ready to give up. We would recommend Karla and KW Legacy team as local experts.
