My issue with the place is the insistence upon gratuity for a staff that wasn't very helpful. I never mind tipping workers who add value, but after we paid for our projects, we had almost no interaction with the staff. These projects aren't cheap and would be fairly easy to mess up for folks who aren't crafty. A bit more guidance would go a long way. A great concept like this demands well-trained, considerate, and accommodating staff.

The employees are super friendly and extremely knowledgeable about the products. I was inquiring about leather paints for shoes. The clerk was provided awesome service making sure I understood the paint and all the needs to clean it up. I didn't feel pressured to purchase anything. They offered individual paints or sets for this particular type of paint. They had a selection of "specialty" colors that are made in small batches and a little more exclusive than the regular. Their open stock pens are glorious!!! Whether you are looking for an inexpensive Flair pen or Sharpie, or a more spendy Copic, you can choose from many different brands, and price points. They have canvases, and lots of blank bags, pouches, tshirts and other items that you can alter to share your art! They have numerous types of clay, molding clay, pottery clay, fine art medium and even novice kits. My biggest issue with the last time I came here a year ago (also for a kid's party) was that the person working the party in general did not seem like they liked children at all, and was not kind or helpful. This time, however, things could not have been more different. The woman working was so great with the girls, spoke to them at their level, helped them when they needed it, and was honestly a joy to have lead the class. Totally changed my perception of what a birthday party here can be like, and made me more excited to come back someday. I keep eyeing those ceramic trees you can do there so I'm sure I'll be back at some point!
