Taking a recreational class at Pizza University was hands-down one of the most enjoyable (and…read moretastiest) things we have experienced in a while. Our instructor, David D., was knowledgeable, super friendly, and clearly passionate about all things pizza ~ from pizza history to dough science to other fun pizza tips and secrets. The class was the perfect mix of hands-on learning and laid-back fun. We got to stretch dough like pros (well, semi-pros), experiment with toppings, and then, of course, enjoy the fruits of our labor .... which, not to brag, were delicious. Whether you're a total beginner or just a home cook looking to level up your pizza game, this class is a great time. You'll leave full of pizza, a little flour-covered, and very proud of your pie-making skills. Highly recommend for foodies, friend groups, or anyone who just really, really loves pizza!

The location is a bit hidden and is located in a small area with parking on site. It's a bit dark but there's also a lot of smaller businesses around the area too. Upon arrival we were greeted Jill who is the marketing manager behind pizza university. She was very sweet and engaging with my boyfriend and I. The establishment feels warm. There's seating available, office space and a bunch of photographs of pizza establishments that use their uniquely built ovens. Down the hallway, we were welcomed to a large kitchen with all the necessary equipment. It was decorated with valentine themes, candy, chocolates, snacks, wines, sodas and water. There were 2 large TV screens and nice jazz music. Chef David went through the menu and basics of safety and cleanliness in the kitchen. We discussed the importance of holding a knife properly and selecting one that best fits the individual. For the menu, we did a nice salad with the lettuce charred, garlic bread, chicken, rockfish, ribeye, poached lobster, double baked potatoes and mixed veggies and a chocolate lava cake. It was quite a lot of food but I learned a lot! I would say my favorite thing to make was the lobster. I've always wanted to learn how to properly de-shell a lobster so that was cool. It looks easier on those TV cooking shows than in real life. Overall, it was a really great experience. They change up their events regularly so I would be happy to come back to learn more and cook different cuisines again.

Where to begin? First, thanks to Yelp for allowing me to narrow my decision down! Yelpers have…read moreyet to let me down and THIS is why I automatically use Yelp all the time! To start, I reached out to Chef Bernard based on the Yelp reviews to see if he could prepare a romantic dinner for my husband and I on Sunday, Feb. 15, 2015. He was available and agreed to serve us. From the start, he was very professional and communicated well. He sent me sample menus with options galore. If there was something on the menu that I wanted mixed up a little, he had no objections. My husband is a very 'simple' eater so I wanted to know if the Chef could also prepare something 'simple' like Potato Au Gratin. Whew....he did and it was sooooooo good! He arrived at our home in what I call his mobile kitchen (because he had everything in it that one could imagine), introduced himself to us and got down to business. We had a few small plate items, entree and dessert. He talked to us while he prepared the meals and it simply felt like he was a friend. It did not feel weird or awkward having him in our kitchen at all. It was great! He gave us tips on cooking at he prepared meals and spoke to us more about who he was (in and out of the kitchen). Some of the items we enjoyed were: 1. Pork chimichangas 2. Cajun eggrolls 3. Peking duck rolls 4. Filet (cooked to order) 5. Potato au gratin 6. Broccoli w/cheese 7. Cheese blintzes wi/ a strawberry wine sauce 8. Crab cakes Everything was perfect! He served us well and we could not have asked for a better experience. We are looking forward to more dinner parties with him in our home. If you are looking for a chef to help you make a memorable event, Chef Bernard is your answer. He also prepares weekly meals for you or your family. My husband really enjoyed the food and he is still raving about it. We tried items we typically would never try in a restaurant. We loved it and we are true fans!

The food is farm to table and always arrive in neatly packaged containers every Sunday evening so we have dinners stocked to enjoy the following week. I have had meal services with others before and this is by far the most skilled cooking of farm to table meals. I think it's a good value. One recent review I read was really not fair about "scam". That's just not true but I understand the frustration that led to a misunderstanding. I know the owner/chef was busy and working to try improve their marketing, ordering app, and communications. It's a small business so you just have to contact her directly if there is an issue and she will take care of it. I did that every time and I was patient because I want this good cooking to last to feed my family. Seems like great people. I've spoken to her and met the staff who deliver food to my house. We look forward to ordering each week!
