I went to performance therapy last year after experiencing debilitating lower back pain that kept me in bed for weeks. Danny and his amazing staff not only helped me get better, they educated me in appropriate strengthening exercises as well as prevention techniques. I had chronic lower back pain and went to two "spine specialists" in town. They both told me that I needed surgery, one minor and one major. A friend of mine who is the business partner of a famous athlete in town suggested i fly to LA to be examined by Kerlan-Jobe (the pre-eminate sports medicine Dr). The Dr at Kerlan-Jobe thought i would benefit tremendously from physical therapy and recommended Performance Physical Therapy. While i was skeptical, I went to Danny at PPT and after a number of weeks of therapy, I am essentially cured of my chronic lower back pain. Danny is very rigorous in his examination and treatment procedures. I was extremely impressed with his knowledge and training. Danny is also trained in some of the newer and more innovative procedures. Everyone there is very knowledgeable and professional as well. Wish I'd found PPT when I first started feeling elbow pain. I was a career tennis professional and after retiring, got back into playing for fun. My experimenting with new racquets and string tensions caused slow developing but ultimately severe elbow pain. Went to ATI (they took my insurance) and made no progress. My tennis friends recommended a highly regarded PT but he wanted to talk more than listen and his rehab program and equipment were not up to date. Enter Danny Antonino at PPT. He gave me a comprehensive consultation over the phone at no charge and I could tell right away that he was someone who was knowledgeable and really enjoyed his work. I have hip pain and chronic migraines. Danny and Joel are awesome at what they do to help your body heal! I never wanted to start pain shots with my hip and Joel, PT stood by me and I finally healed with their help. I now only go, as needed, for flair ups for my hip (if I work out too much) or for my neck (due to my chronic migraines). If I have a flair up I have always been able to get in the same day, and they stick with me until my muscles relax and I walk out pain free. Their assistants Sam and Roxi rock!!!! Came here for PT after a torn labrum and hip dysplasia repair. I've worked in the medical field for 15 years and have been an athlete all my life, I thought I was more than prepared to manage my return to activity. Truth was I needed help. My Surgeon, while brilliant in the OR, was not the best communicator and didn't give steps for recovery. I think he assumed with my background the PT my insurance was contracted with would get me that information but they didn't. At 2 weeks post op his words were, "You are behind". I hate being behind. My care team wasn't supporting me as well as they could and I needed to advocate for myself. I asked my ortho who I should go to. I didn't care about paying out of pocket. I wanted to walk again and do it right! He recommended Danny at PPT. It was the best referral he gave me and in hindsight I wish he would have just sent me to PPT from the start. I called and they got me in that afternoon. I was immediately impressed. My first appointment was wonderful. Danny does what I coach all doctors to do he sits and gets to know his patients. He is hands on and knowledgable. He and the entire team cares! He uses well placed humor as a healing intervention. Take my word for it, needing help to do almost everything including pee robs you of your independence. I had hardly laughed in weeks. At PPT you don't feel like a number you feel like a person. After not being able to so much as rotate my hip for weeks and living in pain for years the idea of moving wrong and ruining the repair was scary. Danny helps you set clinical goals and keeps you safe. He tells you when you aren't ready for something and when it's ok to work harder. The environment is also conducive to healing. It is neat and clean. After surgery getting infection or an illness is a real concern. Equipment is cleaned constantly, staff wash their hands consistently. The entire team works together! The front desk remembers your name and helps you with the door when you are on crutches. They offer you water or coffee. If you are looking for a place to get well after injury this is the place to go. Danny Antonino and his staff run an office that is as healing and therapeutic as the incredible physical therapy work that they perform. Just going there is uplifting! I have been going to Danny at Performance for several months now recovering from hip surgery. He and his staff have been phenomenal. They are very detailed oriented, caring, thorough and also are skilled in manual therapy. He also has wonderful taping techniques that help to support and enhance the rehab process as well as is a master in manual therapy techniques. I would highly recommend Danny and his staff.
