Craig has been amazing to work with and I strongly recommend that if you are dealing with any type of muscle issues, go see him. I have been getting tension headaches for over 3 years. I've tried different things to fix it, but I could never figure out exactly what is causing the tension headaches. In my first meeting with Craig, he was able to describe to me exactly what's going on and what's causing the headaches. He figured out quickly I have knots and trigger points in my neck and my upper traps, irritating the nerves, and it's radiating headaches to the front of my head. He uses a technique called Advanced Pain Release Therapy, which I had never heard of before. Basically with this technique, he is working through the muscle knots and trigger points and opening up that area. In my first session, I felt relief almost immediately. I actually couldn't believe it. After my first session ended, I was just sitting in his chair afterwards completely surprised how I felt. I have completed 3 sessions with him so far and the intensity of my headaches have gone down almost 50%, which is fast considering how long I have had these. In each session, I can actually feel him able to go deeper as the muscle knots are loosening up. He also works on the entire body. If you are suffering from any type of muscle issues causing pain, whether it's the legs, back, neck, or anything else, I would highly highly recommend going to see him. I wish I had found him sooner. I booked this massage the day after running a half marathon, and let me just say--it was everything my body needed and more. I came in sore, stiff, and walking like a baby deer. My calves were tight, my hips ached, and my lower back was letting me know it was not happy. I was expecting a nice, relaxing massage, but what I got was way beyond that. It was the perfect mix of deep tissue and gentle recovery work. The therapist knew exactly how to work around the sore spots without making anything worse, and still managed to loosen everything up. There was one moment when they got into my hamstrings and I swear I felt years of tension just melt away. They even showed me a couple of stretches I could do at home to keep things loose. Super thoughtful and clearly knowledgeable about how runners' bodies work. I walked out feeling like I could actually move again. Not only was the pain way down, but my legs felt refreshed--like I could've done another couple of miles (don't worry, I didn't!). I have only had 1 other massage in my life and it was more of a feel good type of experience. I was having pain in the back of both legs and attributed it to aging. If you're looking for rudeness and ego, you've found your guy. Agree with one of the previous reviewers that he gets upset if you tell him to back off on his painful deep tissue pressure. Not only does he get upset but he becomes incredibly hostile and rude. If you tell him there is a sensitivity or a painful knot, he will double down on it saying it will help but it becomes more painful and then blames you for it. Stay far, far away from this weirdo. Adding on in response: this is a perfect example of him, blaming his customers for everything gone wrong. I told him multiple times I was sore after and felt like I had run a marathon. He responded by saying it was my fault for letting him go too deep but when I tell him it's painful, he gets upset. I didn't even mention his strange personality because I could overlook that if the treatment was good. He makes dumb dad jokes throughout the treatment and if you don't respond, he gets upset. He talks about other customers and what a wonderful therapist he is and if you don't respond, he gets upset. He talks about himself constantly and he rolls his eyes and says well what do I know sarcastically. Overall did I have some improvement? I generally have improvement with every massage session I've ever had, and this isn't any different but his attitude, personality, and angry issues are not worth the time or effort. read more

I was in massive pain, pinched nerve in neck/shoulder and knots all along the right side of my body. In desperation I looked up reviews on Yelp and something pulled me to Craig, all the genuine reviews that were submitted, something just said that this was the right person to go see. I reached out and he happened to have a last minute cancellation, so he got me in. The stars and universe were aligned because he is usually booked out for weeks. By far the best massage therapy I have ever had. Craig knows his stuff, hands down the best in the business. He found all the spots, knew how to work on them and made sure that the pain level was always manageable, while really digging in and getting to the origin of the pain. I can honestly say I was shocked at the improvement the next morning...I was fearing the pain I thought I would wake up in, with as much work as Craig did ....all I can say is I felt so much better, my pain had decreased by leaps and bounds, it was by far the best I had felt in over a month. I have been seeing Craig for well over a year for shoulder/neck/back issues, and have always walked out from my sessions feeling better..however, my last two visits were for an extremely painful tendonitis issue in the left shoulder/elbow. The therapy Craig gave me was ultimately helpful but quite painful to endure during the therapy. I ended up in tears today because of the pain, which was nothing against what Craig was doing, its just the injury itself. After my session I said I was in pain. Craig was indifferent and had zero sympathy that I was in pain, then became rude to me, and out of nowhere told me "we shouldn't work together anymore", and then actually pointed towards the door for me to leave. I was stunned at the complete change in his behavior. I still don't understand what happened and why he acted this way, but to treat me like this after being a long term client is unacceptable and extremely unprofessional and for that reason I would not recommend Craig to anyone. In response to the business owner: Craig, I understand you are in damage control here but what you are saying is simply not true. I told you, when asked, what my pain scale was multiple times. And you know i did. The bottom line is I was literally shown the door and basically told not to come back for crying when I was in pain. You absolutely did not seem upset. Quite the contrary. You were rude. I was stunned by your indifference and your rudeness after being a client for so long. Your behavior towards me was unwarranted and very unprofessional. read more

LIFE CHANGING!!! I can't even describe the slump I was in with the back pain I had felt for months before the day I went to see Craig at Pain Release Therapy. Talk about a personalized experience! Craig was EXTREMELY PROFESSIONAL and patient from the get go. He inquired on specific areas where I was feeling pain or had been sore and I filled him in on having thrown out my back recently in addition to a pained back. This is more than a massage, his Pain Release Therapy uses a Technique called Active Release. In my words I feel he pin points knots and specific areas of pain that you never knew you had and works those out through pressure and movement. He has so much experience, he seems to know exactly where the pain is, he finds it before you even mention it! ONE OF A KIND! It is not a normal massage although Craig is completely capable of that. Like many of the other reviewers here, I too have been living with chronic back and neck pain for many years and have tried many other things to try to get relief, including surgery, which just seemed to complicate matters. I have been to doctors, chiropractors, physical therapists, a rolfer, an acupuncturist, a myofascial release therapist, and a stretch therapist. I have been to many other massage therapists and although they are relaxing for the moment, they have done little to effect any sort of lasting change. I have been physically active most of my adult life including, hot yoga for many years, walking, strength training, and continued physical therapy. My physical activity is what has kept me going. I wanted to try to find a good therapeutic masseuse to compliment my physical therapy/strength training to see if I could get more relief. I have now had four sessions with Craig and have been very pleased with the results. He has a good understanding of musculoskeletal system and is an excellent massage therapist. The sessions are very deep tissue, which can sometimes be uncomfortable....but in a good and much needed way. Exactly what I was looking for. While my pain isn't gone, I have noticed some positive changes in that the problem area has, at least at times, loosened up a bit and even more promising is a significant increase in my range of motion. Interestingly, I have noticed these types of changes occurring for up to two weeks following each massage so I continue to be hopeful. read more
