If I could give more stars I would. Hands down I love coming to Perfume Gallery. I live in IB and yes there are closer perfume stores, but none of them have what this store has, Yaneth. She is absolutely amazing and she knows her stuff. Yaneth is very friendly and extremely patient. I think one time I spent almost two hours in there. She never got frustrated or annoyed. She knows finding the right sent(s) is important. She will never stray you into something you don't love. She can also handle many customers without anyone feeling left out. She has that natural ability to read people which is perfect for when there are multiple people in the store. I've been in the hospitality field for over 16 years, and people like Yaneth are hard to come by. She is an absolute keeper! read more

Strictly a no-niche store. They have a wide range of all kinds of popular mainstream perfumes from Adidas to Guerlain, for used-car salesmen to ambassadors. The prices are not particularly attractive. Their strength lies on the lower shelves, behind the counter; the stuff you miss when casting a cursory glance into the store while walking by. The stuff hardly anybody looks for or knows about. The connaisseur items. If you are running out of your beloved discontinued perfume or if reformulations have turned it into fruity water, this is the place to go. They have vintage classics, oldies and rarities that have become impossible to find new-in-box, even on Ebay. The stuff you have to waste twenty week-ends in estate sales to find - used. Of course price is proportional to rarity, so I would not go there seeking miraculous deals, but if you must have it, try your luck there. Examples at random: Habanita, Coriandre, Monsieur de Givenchy, Dupont pour femme, Lancôme Ô oui, Climat and Magie noire (not Trophée, alas !), Carven Ma griffe, Lanvin Arpège (both), several Léonard, Houbigant, Dior, Rochas, Laroche, Grès, Hermès, Cacharel, Caron... And the cult object itself, which I will not name because, despite the mad price, I want the last two bottles for myself. I cannot rave enough about Yaneth!! I've loved the scent "into the night" by bath and body works and have been looking for a higher quality replacement, as the body mist only lasts for like 15 minutes. I've searched all over the internet looking for recommendations and hadn't found anything I liked. Yaneth was SO helpful and had me try a bunch of different scents. Then, I brought her "into the night" and she found the scent familiar but couldn't remember it, so she took my information and called when she remembered! I've been searching for so long, and Yaneth's dedication to helping me was amazing. I cannot stress how grateful I am for her help and determination in finding a similar scent!! Another stop in my day full of errands with my friend, I stopped at Macy's to pick up a bottle of Lacoste as I had run out a few days ago. They informed me that they did not carry it there because of the demographic they were in. Ok fair enough. So we exit Macys and pass by a small open front store filled top to bottom with perfume bottles and fragrances. Next thing I know we are inside perusing the massive display. The one clerk behind the counter greets us and asks what it is we are looking for. And i specifically inquired about the price of the perfume I wanted. He said 75 dollars for the bottle! Hmm. We thought that sounded a bit high for that small bottle. A second later the employee was waving pieces of paper under my nose of non brand, never been heard of scents. Dont get me wrong. I can care less about labels but the stanky perfumes he kept pressuring me to buy were not worth $55 dollars each!!! And to make matters worse, every scent I asked for, and was familiar with(juicy, guess,lacoste....) he shot them down each time and told me he could make me a "deal" with the no name fragrance. He told meIf i got what I wanted it would be too common and boring and didnt get me a sample smell of anything of them. Even went to far as to tell me the perfume that my ex boyfriend bought me for christmas, smells like old lady!!!!!!!!!!!!! Im sorry. I thought guess was a worthy brand......Well i suppose thats why he's working in a small cramped store making bus loads of money peddling crap. BTW my friend is on his blackberry the entire time finding much cheaper alternatives to this store. Later my friend told me that by selling the cheaper no name stuff he makes a bigger profit rather than selling the well known brands. Im not suprised at the level of shadiness. read more

I don't wear cologne so I am extremely inexperienced when it comes to prices, sales techniques, etc. My experience here was okay. The salesmen was pleasant and offered his opinions in a polite way but there were a couple of things that didn't make sense to me. Like the price we paid was more than double what you would find any where else-online, other stores and so forth. Also, when I wanted to try specific colognes he said he didn't have testers for them even though we were actually standing in front of the actual colognes. How do you buy colognes unless you can smell them? As for the price, it may have been their actual price or I could have been taken advantage of-who knows-they still are more expensive than other places. The salesmen seemed to know what he was talking about and was nice-but he is a salesman. I do feel like a grandma when I say salesman if you were wondering. read more

I purchased a cologne(One on One) and pay $62.00...later check out the price on my computer and it is a no-name product selling for approximately $30.00. Feeling totally abused by the pleasant salesman, I called the business, they said they would put a comment on their computer and be accomodating to price on my next visit. Next visit? Two weeks later I go back, they have no comment posted anywhere, and we discuss another cologne Fierce that they would lower the price from over $50 to $40...of course this is sold for a solid $37 at Abercombie. So they attempt to abuse this customer again! Now the really humorous part of this story is that an enormous ROACH was crawling in their display counter, which I commented upon. They continued trying to persuade me to buy the Fierce and ignored the disgusting roach!! I would warn every customer to this business to avoid this place and spread the word as they are totally without honor or a good business sense. And dirty? read more
