Our next mission was to get in on this near flawless hand soap. Hubby could not remember the name of the brand however I managed to take a pic of it. Lo and behold, it was Le Labo. Le Labo products are high quality with a price tag to match. The last bottle we purchased was their entry level small Edition scent, sized at 237 ml. It was $37.00 online (less tax) and lasted 2 years with minimal use. This time we chose the Basil scent hand soap. We love it a ton and enjoy the fact if we ran out there is a Le Labo nearby. I was disheartened to find out that they were out of the Gaiac 10 and Osmanthus samples, but they informed me that they have the juice to make the full sizes starting Sept 1. So, I ordered the Gaiac 10 and Osmanthus online, and bought several other samples in person. I truly had a great time bantering about fragrance with Ruben, and look forward to coming back after Sept 1 - most likely to get a Gaiac 10 bottle. I left with a few items and since then I've been brand loyal! My first purchases were the Tisty Tosty and Sakura. Both smelled amazing and the nice experience got me into bath bombs and several other finds. I enjoy LUSH promoting the concept of no animal testing. Most of their products are vegan, handmade and natural. Over the years I've tried other items like their face masks, soaps and shower gels. They mainly smell great and they have so many uniquely scented products. Their merch is colorful, vibrant and mixed with a dash of fun! I've rarely encountered a product I didn't like here. If I bought something I ended up not falling in love with, I was able to return the product with a receipt. With that receipt, I was able to receive store credit to exchange for an item better suited to my needs. I've purchased many items over the years with LUSH. So much so it's piqued my husband's interest and now he too makes occasional trips to our local LUSH for his hair care! He especially likes the BIG and the Wasabi Shan Kui Shampoos. PRICING: As for cost, the products are on the high end with most soaps hovering over $12 per quarter pound. 3.3 oz bottles of shampoo can go for $15.00 and up. Cost is a big reason why I don't shop here frequently however on occasion they do have clearance sales where last month I was able to avail of soap for nearly 70% off. Usually the big clearance sales happen at year end and through the start of the first month of the year. Pro tip: You can return empty containers for a discount on future purchases. PARKING SITCH: Parking is not the best down Armitage Avenue. Parking lots are nonexistent because the area is mostly residential. Armitage Avenue in Lincoln Park is already saturated with businesses. I wouldn't bet on finding a spot along the side streets of Armitage because all of these side streets are reserved for residents. Patience is key when it comes to parking but if you're lucky enough to snag a space it's worth spending some time in LUSH and the surrounding businesses in the area. Happy shopping!
