The water is shut off several times a month at random times. The roads flood so deep all the time and you would never know if your lot will be underwater until after you move in. The GM is overwhelmed and NEVER responds to emails. Park inspections are a joke, there is supposed to be a standard and they gloss right over material defects as I tried to buy twice in that park and both times they passed the park inspection as I scratch my head looking at the obvious defects of these homes. The pools are way too small and are basic the main pool by the entrance is still rubble. Security guards at night are always sleeping when I drive in.

The beach is named after a Seminole leader and what makes it so special is that it is divided by a tidal lagoon. The developed lagoon side is an important bird habitat and it has amenities like a playground and restrooms. To reach the beach side you wade through the lagoon which is about 50 yards and which allows you to reach the waters of the Gulf. If you prefer not to walk through the lagoon you can walk around the lagoon to the south to reach the beach in about 20 minutes. The main part of Tigertail Beach across from the lagoon is Sand Dollar Island or Sand Dollar Spit. The area was an off shore sandbar completely surrounded by water until the winds of Hurricane Wilma and erosion connected it to Marco Island. It is known for its incredible deposits of sand dollars, giving it the name and making it a favorite spot to find sand dollars and shells. Adjacent to the park is Big Marco Pass Critical Wildlife Area managed by the state and it is a resting site for a variety of migratory shorebirds. Tigertail Beach is a birding hot spot during spring and fall migration. It is a part of the Great Florida Birding Trail, one of the longest running programs of the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission. The trail consists of more than 500 wildlife viewing sites across the state. Things to keep in mind, if you are going to to the beach pack what you can carry if you plan on crossing the lagoon. Most people carry their belongings overhead. Parking is ten dollars to park or a Collier County beach pass. if you like a beach adventure and nature, this may be the experience for you.

And if you are walking barefoot, the beach is very shelly, not the white soft sands and some of the other beaches we visited in the area. If I was hunting for seashells, this might be a good beach, but I probably wouldn't come back just for a beach day. Well, she sure was right. Pull in slots and you pull right up to the water. They have boat slips and many sites you can have your bot right in front or on side of your RV. They do not allow tents. The woman who helped me during several phone calls asking for info could not have been more helpful or friendly ! I finally met her to reserve my same site for next years Labor Day because they book up quick (they only have 5 'ultimate' sites, I can't speak on availability on other sites. A quick 5 minute walk and you are over at the Nauti Parrot dock bar which has good food, good drinks, and live music. The only downside is the pool is *very* small. And was full both times we went to go and opted not to. Glass is not allowed but with all the people with Dixie cups / coolers and kids I didn't feel being that crowded in a small-ish pool.

The resort is just beautiful, it's surrounded by water on three sides and the view out our RV window was breathtaking. The pool, grounds and restrooms were always meticulously kept clean. I can't start saying enough good things about the staff, Stephanie (the resort manager), Denise (the office supervisor) and Gary and Kevin (the hardest working men I've ever met) pour their hearts and souls out to make sure your visit is a pleasant experience. We travel a lot and have stayed in many places but this one beats them all. I have to take two injections twice a month for an illness I have. It's shipped on ice and has to be kept cold. I notified Stephanie that it would be arriving the following day. The next morning I had a knock on my RV door, when I opened it Gary handed me my medicine. To me that goes beyond great customer service, it shows they truly care about their guest. Don't let me forget to mention the little tractor. If you don't want to back your travel trailer Gary or Kevin will put it in your spot with the tractor and not leave until you are 100% satisfied that it's exactly where you want it and it's level. In my opinion this is the best RV Resort in the Fort Myers and Sanibel area.

This is an extremely large KOA and is classified as a "Holiday" destination, today just guessing it was less than five percent occupied which was a little surprising but then again it is off-season and with the area still recovering from the last hurricane I guess all the campgrounds are somewhat struggling. There are a variety of sites, some with concrete pads and some with grass pad and they all looked to have full hookups. There are multiple restrooms and shower facilities as well as a pool, tennis courts and other places to socialize. If I were to book a site here in the future I would definitely book a premium site with the large concrete pads which would better accommodate our Class A Motorhome. There are a number of RV Parks in the area but this probably would be a good option depending on what you plan to do while visiting the area...

Here are some of the things that were not OK - the mens room smelled of sewer, continually. It wasn't in the women's room and they are in the same building. We were kind of surprised that the camp store was empty - as in we couldn't find ice, water, or even anything. The pool was ok - but again - no one was monitoring kids jumping in, diving, etc. It scares us when this occurs and frankly, positive should have been on the parents. We had a spot on a corner when we first got there, and moved the very next day - people were loud and had unruly dogs. We were invited to find a spot we liked and we did - of note is that a view of the pond is according to them, worth half again as much as the normal site - really? Also - pretty clear that we used our own Wi-Fi here, what we heard from all others is that campground Wi-Fi sucks . One good thing - the weight room in the community center was great.

The biggest reason to come here is for the shelling, which can be fortuitous during the right time of year and even the right area on the shoreline. Honestly, were it not for the shelling it probably wouldn't be a beach I'd come back to. It's nice, of course, but doesn't have that gorgeous cerulean water and ultra soft sand that some of the gulf coast beaches are known for. It does have a lot of amenities on the walk between the parking lot & beach shore, such as bathrooms & changing rooms, rinse stations, a picnic area, educational signs, and even a playground. You also have to pay for parking- and the lot has quite a lot of parking, but if you don't get there early enough on the wrong weekend it could still be tough to find a spot.

My favorite like usual is Gator Nate. Jack for next year, could you include more folk style bands? The campground is clean, the bathrooms were clean, and we enjoyed the food trucks this year. Will return again next year! It is just a great environment to enjoy yourself. I don't want this to get too huge or else we won't have a spot for next year! Really loved it.
