Diner breakfast occupies a special place in my heart, and when the only location in Denver closed before I had the chance of trying it, I was devastated. However, while traveling for work this week, I stayed at a hotel next to a location, and was blessed with the chance once more. It was everything I had dreamed of. The servers here are great! The server that helped me was Kayla. She was great; she had many tables that she assisted with ease, never forgetting about anyone. The food here was good too, I ordered the granny's omelette, it was great. I would definitely recommend sourdough toast with hollandaise sauce to dip with. Wonderful family owner cafe coffee shop is a small town we spent the night in. Food tasty and choices with large hungry man portions.

It's really true people make a difference. It's my favorite Perkins place, and it broke my heart the way they serve me at dinner time. I order a salmon grill and was completely raw inside they try few time till they make it almost right the third time. We eat her on our way back from the campground sometimes. It is by far the best Perkins I have ever eaten at. Today they had a new cook and he messed up our order....for the good. Terrible!!! Waited an hour for food then came inedible. Blueberry pancakes were cool, bacon was inedible burnt and curled, soft scrambled eggs were brown and hard cooked. And that was AFTER an hour wait because they had a "new" cook, only one cook. The manager did NOTHING! Except turn customers away by announcing food wait was over an hour ... and that announcement was after we already were waiting 45 minutes. We had another 20 minutes to wait. The manager should have helped the one waitress that was trying to accommodate everyone. The manager should have brought water, coffee, bussed tables, checked on his cook and the food BEFORE it was brought out. He did NOTHING except turned away about 30 customers. We were driving from Chicago to Minneapolis when we were caught in a brutal thunderstorm just east of Black River Falls. We pulled off the highway, headed a block north, and found a trusty Perkin's. A staff member was at the door to open it for those fleeing what surely was the start of 40 days and nights of rain. Despite the onslaught of customers, the staff and management handled it beautifully. Brian Lind, the manager, was calm, cool, responsive, and supportive of his staff. After I complimented him, he said, "I have a really good staff. They make it look easy." And isn't that the way it should be? You should never feel like your server is struggling. They should always be half a step ahead of you. We both ordered a $4 special: Eggs in a Whole. It was two slices of sour dough bread with holes cut in the middle, over easy eggs in the holes, hash browns, and two slices of bacon. Yum. The food was well prepared and served promptly. We were on a road trip from Chicago to Minneapolis. It started to storm and the rain and wind became so strong you could not see more than a couple of feet ahead. We got off at the next exit and saw the Perkins. We went in and were welcomed by the host and seated right away. The service was great and the food was delicious. We had breakfast for dinner. Eggs in a hole - two pieces of toast with a poached egg in the middle of each and bacon. You can always count on great breakfasts at Perkins. On our way to Minneapolis we needed lunch and since my gentleman friend loves Perkins this is where we landed. I'm not sure if Perkins has the whole corporate vs franchise thing going on, but this Perkins had some differences from the usual stop. They were minor: 1) the chicken strips melt was cut in half instead of three sections (literally doesn't matter at all, but it's the first time I've ever seen it that way), and 2) the fries were battered (not a fan of battered fries so that was a bit of a disappointment) Service was fine, the bathroom was clean enough (especially for being a roadside stop), and we were able to be seated right away despite it being a Saturday at lunch time. As an adult the Perkins chain hasn't been my favorite (though it was a childhood treat and high school staple), but this location will do you just fine if you're looking to sit down instead of grabbing fast food to go. read more

Always stop in when I am on my way to Chicago from Minneapolis. Service is always polite. They are very quick but then again I do always show up at odd hours throughout the day. One of our meals was forgotten about until our food was brought to our table. One was missing a significant amount of the meal (breakfast potatoes). And a third meal (my child's) was missing an add on, the waitress never asked about her drink and she never received her cookie. A fourth meal at our table, was missing two of the parts. Only one of our meals were served properly. When our food came, the waitress asked "what did you order? That's weird. The kitchen said your ticket was done. I guess I didn't write it down.
