I saw this place on a billboard. Checked out the Google and yelp reviews and had nothing but good reviews. The food was amazing. Perfectly cooked ribeye. All 5 of us got the ribeye and we all loved them. The loaded baked potato was also cooked perfectly. The service was great! We were sat almost instantly. Food and drinks came out quick! Their prices are way better than where I'm from and I was impressed with the quality of the food at the price they were at. Nice looking place on the inside. They have bar seating as well as two side of the restaurant. I'd definitely eat here again if I'm back in town. read more

First time to Re-Pete's and wow, I was impressed! The menu has a good variety of items, but I went with the Broasted Chicken with baked potato. Our server was very nice and friendly and I'm sorry I did not catch her name. The ice tea was freshly brewed and tasted great. But the chicken was AMAZING! Perhaps the best I've ever had, and that's saying a lot. Served piping hot and perfectly prepared. The baked potato was also well prepared. I gave the server a generous tip as the meal and service merited that recognition. I made the extra effort to locate the owner to share my thoughts on the dining experience and she was appreciative. Nothing fancy, just a great place to dine in BRF. I will be a frequent customer and look forward to exploring the menu! Five Stars! read more

Myself and a few friends stopped in here for a quick dinner. The staff were very friendly and the restaurant had a homey vibe. We collectively ordered burgers, fries, potatoe fries, chili and cheese curds. The burgers were amazing. The fries and potatoe fries were also pretty good. The cheese curbs weren't bad but for an appetizer the serving was fairly small. The prices were relatively competitive. At one point the manager or owner came over to check on us which I thought was very professional. If I'm ever in that neck of the woods again I'll definitely stop in. read more

We were hoping for a really good hole in the wall restaurant. We pulled into the parking lot and thought we found it because the lot was full, it was busy inside, all tables were full. We were the only group in line. We had a large group (15 people). They said it was no problem for a group this big and it should only be about 10-15 minutes to seat us. That was accurate, it wasn't long but that's when things changed. It took about 15 minutes for someone to take our drink orders and then another 30 to get them. Then when it came time to order food that was another hour wait to get that. When the food stated coming out 2 people got theirs. They were done eating and empty plates taken before anyone else got food. It was coming out a few at a time with long waits in between. Some of us a good food others didn't. read more

Black River Falls is a burg in Wisconsin on I-94, two hours from Minneapolis, two hours from Madison, and five, give or take, from Chicago.  It's a hub for outdoor sports in all seasons, no matter your choice of Northwoods fun.  They also have one of six locations of casinos of the Ho-Chunk Nation. Their casinos are modern with all of your favorite games, restaurants, and value-priced hotel rooms. I made my semi-annual donation. Re-Pete's Saloon and Grill is located just south of the city center, on Wisconsin Highway 27.  I have no idea what the name means.  It's a spacious building, with a separate dining room to the left of the door (not in use on this day), and a dining area to the right in the bar area.  The decor is the usual lit beer signs and sports nonsense. (SIDEBAR)  OK, I just looked at their website and the name comes from that there used to be another joint in this building that was named "Pete's."  When you know, you know. It's a lengthy menu, with American fare, bar food favorites, dinner entrees, and the ubiquitous Friday nite fish fry (an upper midwest thing).  Couple of Mexican choices, too. They were busy, in that the bar stools and every table were full.  Appeared to have three servers, young women, harried but trying to keep up. My dinner companion went with a burger described as "BACON CRACK JAM" Topped with fried onions, melted Provolone cheese, Applewood smoked bacon and Jen's homemade bacon crack jam. It was substantial and tasty with extruded fries on the side. (Why did someone think "bacon jam" had to be invented)? I couldn't pass up the Lake Perch, found on so few restaurant menus. Other fish choices were trout or catfish filets.  Tough decision for me.  And it took a while to be served, but the wait was worth it, five crispy breaded fillets. There was a place further down I-90 called "Blue Gilley's" that I liked to stop at, a lot of dishes with Blue Gill fish.  Didn't make it through the pandemic, tho. I do like pan fish. Stayed overnight at the Comfort Inn, my current value loyalty choice, nice complimentary hot breakfast, indoor pool and spa.  Everything was neat, clean, and orderly, friendly help. read more

The staff were very friendly and seemed to really enjoy working together. We were camping in the area so I'm not sure if we'll ever make it back. Our server was very friendly and welcomed us in from our road trip. Very Wisconsin Nice! While our server was great, we did order our beers and burgers at the same time and it seemed to take a long length of time to get our meal. Only seemed strange because there were very few customers on the restaurant. Once our food arrived all was forgiven! I had the Bacon Burger with Bacon Jam. Yep! Can't go wrong there! A large bar and grill in the heart of the state with a huge menu of wraps, sandwiches, salads and entrees including the classic "broasted" chicken. Like all small town places, it is festooned with all the packer memorabilia and beer signs. Also, there are plenty of regulars here getting something to eat. We stoped in for lunch on our way though the state. I enjoyed the bacon jam burger with fries and my wife liked the classic taco salad served in a big deep fried, crunchy shell. At lunch on a Friday you can even get something approximating the nightly fish fry. While there was only one person staffing the large place, and she was also handling the bar, she did a great job of helping to make sure everything was taken care of. We were in and out for lunch fairly quickly and had a nice meal that wasn't fast food. read more

My husband and I shared the Caribbean War Pig sandwich which has pulled pork with a Caribbean jerk flair, with bacon and a mango-habanero slaw on top. Pork was tender and the jerk flavor was great. My boyfriend and I pass this place many times and always wanted to try. This past weekend we came from Spencer, Wi for a late Valentine date night. We were so happy we decided to come here.
