This is such a cute little place and the food is SO tasty! Stopped here while traveling back to Minneapolis from Milwaukee and so glad we did. It's a pretty small place but the service is warm and friendly, that kitchen is cooking some delicious stuff, and it's just a warm and cozy vibe (see pic of the cute Salt/pepper table holder) ;) I had a mushroom, onion and cheese omelette with hash browns and a pancake. The omelette was prepared well and while it may not look pretty on my picture it was Delicious! Seasoned beautifully, perfectly cooked...makes me hungry for it looking at the picture again ;) That pancake....I am usually more of a fluffy thick pancake person but good grief that was a good pancake! Stopped by Mandy's Cafe & Deli in Tomah, WI, for a casual bite and found a charming diner experience with some quirky character (just check out that utensil holder!). The place was very clean and had that classic, no-frills diner vibe. Service was on the slow side - took 5-10 minutes for a friendly server to greet me, but considering she seemed to be running the whole show, it's understandable. I went with the club sandwich on white bread and a side of fries. The sandwich was solid - the turkey and ham tasted fresh and flavorful, stacked generously with crispy bacon, lettuce, and tomato. The fries? Surprisingly good, crispy on the outside and just the right amount of salt. This was my second visit, and while the food quality is consistent, the wait times could be improved if they had more help. Coming back from the Minnesota State Fair stopped in Tomah Wisconsin for the night. Got up the next morning looking for breakfast and my fellow Yelp warriors didn't let me down. Cute little nook in a little mall, decorated with country decor for sale. Cute little place that we decided to try for lunch while visiting my family in Tomah. I ordered a lemon cilantro shrimp wrap, and my hubby ordered a cubano. The fries were a little overdone, but the wrap, tomato bisque, and cubano were all delicious! The service was great, and a large breakfast and lunch menu is offered. Ordered the smokehouse brisket Bennie! It was very good but they took FOREVER to prepare the food! Sauce was a little bland for me but nothing a little dash of salt can do to save the day. Also, they were VERY skimpy on the brisket, one very thin tiny slice...their breakfast taters were also a hit. Yes, food is freshly prepared so if you're hungry I highly encourage for you to snack on something before hand. Our party was getting restless and the place wasn't even busy when we all went. Lacked flavor in everything except the tater kegs. I prefer fluffy pancakes. Theirs are very thin and tasted like a crepe rather than a pancake. The corned beef with potatoes was flavorless which is hard to do with corned beef. I asked for scrambled eggs and you see what I got in the photo. Found this spot when I stopped at Walmart to get some stuff for my truck. The staff is absolutely wonderful here and the food was delicious. Ordered a cup of sausage gnocchi and before I left ended up ordering some to-go. Also got the lemon chicken asparagus pasta and he got the the Irish bowl. I read the pancake reviews and don't agree.. it is thinner but has great taste and is the size of 2-3 silver dollar cakes. The edges were a little crispy like a crepe but didn't lack flavor. Eggs are eggs and I added a bit of pepper they could have sat on the grill a bit longer but very acceptable. The ham was thin and 2 pieces or a thicker single slice would have been nice ... but I was full in the end and didn't really need more food. Coffee is your average dinner coffee if you want gourmet coffee stop at the Starbucks across the street. read more

I came in at 8 am on a Sunday. The staff was super friendly and I managed to get seating right away. I ordered French toast stuffed with cream cheese and strawberries as well as some bacon and eggs. Outstanding heartwarming cooking. The hot beefs were exactly what we wanted. The scalloped potatoes had actual ham in good sized chunks. The broccoli and cauliflower salad used hickory smoked bacon and has a dressing I would love the recipe for as it's better than my own. The brownies were cake like with delicious frosting. Last month I was visiting friends in Tomah Wisc. 2 days in a row I met up with different friends for breakfast/lunch here. I was so happy to go back after the first visit.... The food was so yummy and our waitress Jacqueline (both days) was the best! Super friendly and attentive! I highly recommend Tami's Breakfast Sandwich, the Chili, and the French Vanilla Cappuccino! On 9/21/22, our meal was paid for by a customer who happened to be a local fireman and was "paying it forward" for all the times his meals have been bought for him. We were so touched and I only wish I could thank him in person (he left before we knew he paid for all 3 of our meals.). Shortly after that, another gentleman came to our table and gave us each a St Christopher medallion. (The Saint of protection and safe travel.). How did he know I was traveling from Calif?? Anyway, my experience at Mandy's is one I won't forget.... Cozy warm environment, friendly hard working employees, delicious food, and interacting with the kindest people in Tomah Wisc!
