Went here with the wife for breakfast. Service was good, waitress and cook were super friendly! Menu was super cheap and gave more portions than advertised which is a huge plus, but the dinner is situated between two wash bays and the smell was absolutely disgusting. I couldn't hardly stand to eat while smelling such a fowl smell. Cool concept, but needs better ventilation to not smell so terrible. Food was very good great flavor real beef burgers. Service was so nice. Staff is extremely friendly and will come talk to you like you're at a relatives house. Ambiance is about as eclectic as you can get. The restaurant is in a blue metal building that also has car or truck wash. I had Larry's bacon cheese burger and my friend had biscuits and gravy. Both meals were very good. I would have preferred sliced cheese on my burger but Larry was trying out chicken fajitas so I assume that is why he used shredded cheese on my burger. The service was fine but some instructions as to where the menu was would have been nice. The place was clean and clearly a favorite for truckers. Biggest omelettes ever! You'll get three meals for the price of one. I couldn't believe it. I barely made a dent in my meat lovers omelette while dining in, and had to get a to go box for the rest. This is the perfect spot for anyone with an empty stomach especially the truckers! Larry was a friendly face that greets you and asks how everything is. It takes a little bit to get your order because he's cooking it all up by himself, but it was worth the wait. The coffee was on the house. Larry's was interesting. Quite unique location (truck wash). We started our lunch with a small order of fried pickles. Really good. My wife had a fried chicken sandwich and I had the brisket sandwich. One of us ordered potato wedges and the other ordered onion rings. The sandwiches were really average. The potato wedges were very good. The onion rings were odd and we didn't care for them. They were striped. The dark strips sort of tasted like balsamic vinegar. I asked Larry about them and he said they're called Black and Tan rings. We ended our lunch with a slice of Strawberry Rhubarb Pie and Vanilla Ice Cream. This was a winner! In conclusion, I'd suggest sticking to maybe the burgers and any of the fried potatoes (Fries, wedges and tots). And the pie! read more

Stopped here on the way to WI Dells, but wish we hadn't. Long wait for food I didn't end up eating. I took a bite of my burger and realized it had previously been frozen and then charred to death. When the cook noticed I wasn't going to eat it, he told me it was my fault for not ordering it rare. If I could go back in time, I'd just choose another place, but if you come here just ask for your fries to actually be hot and your food not burned. What a great find! It's a bit hidden inside the truck wash, but if you go in the door by the arrow that says, "cafe" you find the door to the lunchroom. It's not fast food, but great home-cooked food made to order by Larry, who owns the truck wash. We saw truckers come in to get food to go while their trucks were washed. What a great set-up! My husband and I were hungry travelers, and since it's a route we take often, we will definitely return as the steak and eggs and patty melt we had were fantastic. Larry got a break in cooking before we left and played his laughing theme song and visited. Quite an affable guy as well as a great home cook! This establishment is delightful. If you like large portions of food cooked to order and trucks stop here! This place is literally in between 2 truck washing stalls. There is a window where you can watch the trucks being washed which was neat with lots of truck memorabilia. The restroom is reasonably clean with a singing billy bass in the restroom which was humorous. The owner and cook is Larry who was very friendly. Both he and the waitress (unfortunately did not catch her name) were very kind to our rowdy toddler. Forgot to add the "King" size omelet is so large it almost doesn't fit on a plate. oh and coffee is on the house! Just wish I had more room in my stomach to try the pie. read more

This cafe was a great find!! My Denver Omelette was perfect with fresh green peppers and off the bone ham chunks, yummy! Great tasting hash browns and fresh toast completed the plate. The portions are so big that I ate three more meals off this. Our server was very sweet and made sure we had water refills and enough napkins and condiments. Laughing Larry is a great cook and makes the dining experience like you were in his own home kitchen. Seeing the semi trucks getting washed on either side of the diner was an added bonus. We found Laughing Larry's Lunchroom pretty easily thanks to yelp directions. Walked into the lunchbox and found every table but one taken. Unsure about how the system worked, I asked a fellow at another table and he said, "Just wait, it will take a little time, but it's worth it!" He was right there! Larry came by and like s concierge, took our order. I had a cheeseburger and Dr R had a Swiss and mushroom burger and we shared an order of cheese curds. Burger was well cooked, cheese was great and the curds were interesting and unique to us. Tasty all around. I like off the road places to eat because I like conversations with people who are local. A fellow named Russ came in and we heard about the weather, his son, jobs he'd had, etc. and then... well let's just say it was a real slice of hometown. I really enjoyed it. Reading the board, I saw that the pie of the day was strawberry/rhubarb. Ok I had to have some... raise your hand if you love rhubarb!!!! Yum!!! Double yum!!! Larry came over and sat with us as we ate our desert. It was nice to hear about his story: sold real estate, etc. So, pie was great, burger was great, interaction was great. What's not to love?! So, get s good rest off the road with good food. I'm giving this place 1 star because you can't give 0. This was the worst meal of my life. Please don't listen to the positive reviews; they cannot be real. The bathroom smelled of sewer and the smell wafted to our table every time someone opened the door. It was awful. The mystery meat on my reuben was unrecognizable. We took one bite of our meal and threw them directly in the trash, which is the best place for a meal like this. Even the salad was rotten. I can't say how bad this food was, and I use the term food loosely. The waitress was sweet but not enough to overcome the odor, dirty kitchen and terrible food! I had half order of sausage gravy and biscuits. It filled the whole plate, but it was the best I've had so I had to finish it! My husband had the Queen omelette, and it was the biggest omelette he's ever had. Had to take what he couldn't eat with us cuz it was so good. We were just passing thru, but if we lived anywhere close, we'd be eating there often. We became friends in that short time together. This was the most expensive sandwich and most unfriendly waitress I have experienced in a long time. I asked if there were peppers in the chili and was given a normal answer of "I don't know." Wait staff should KNOW what is in the food they are serving as well as have an ingredient list they can look on.
