Living on the Coast I have been reminded that not all tortillas are made the same. Luckily for me I walked into LA 2 and found my favorite brand of tortillas (Gurreros **** stars) these tortillas are the ones I grew up on and they sell them here so I am ECSTATIC!!! While it just opened and they have not fully stocked the shelves, I am Uberhappy that they have a wide selection of all the mexican sodas I grew up on. They also sell fresh cuts of meet and dried and fresh chorizo (**** stars) but what takes the cake is that they have a taco/torta counter in the back!!! So now I can get my tacos and tortas for lunch the way they were made back home!!! Carne asada, al pastor and LENGUA!!! and on Friday nights and weekends they have BARBACOA!!! These people have become my new best friends!!! Sorry taco shops on the Coast, I don't think I am going to be coming around much anymore!!! P.S. the three star rating is because they have a very limited menu and the taco counter is just that... a counter. But the tacos (***1/2 stars) are good!!!

They have salami, jams and preservatives, coffee beans and loose teas. There's also honey, chocolate, candy and snacks. Their prices are much higher than what similar retailers charge. I did pick up a few jars of the apricot preservatives. I wanted to get some Kinder Egg Surprises for some kids, but they were $4.99 each. I've never seen them for more than $3. The owner was very short tempered and not at all pleasant in answering the most basic questions about the products in his store. This is a huge turn off. If I was in the area again, I would stay clear of this little store.

The meat is not pre-packaged, so if you wanted to buy just one drumstick you could. Spanish seems the primary language - obviously - but they understood my pathetic "cuarto pieces" request. There is also a food counter with some plastic tables set up as a dining area. I didn't see a menu, but I didn't look too hard. Food looked pretty good. Easy enough to get to, shares a sizable parking lot, worth checking out.
