They know how Insurance works and I've never been asked to pay anything else after I've left that office and paid for my glasses. I was scheduled for a 12:00 pm appointment and arrived early at 11:50 am. Someone who arrived several minutes after me was taken in first. When I asked why, I was told they had an earlier appointment, which didn't make sense based on the timing. When I was finally called in for the pre‑exam, the woman who assisted me was incredibly pleasant, patient, and made me feel comfortable. I really appreciated her professionalism. However, the experience changed when I was called into the main exam room by a woman named Oni. From the moment she called me back, her attitude felt dismissive and lacking compassion. I tried to explain that the glasses I'm currently wearing are not allowing me to see properly, but she cut me off and told me to wait and explain it to the doctor. The doctor, on the other hand, was wonderful--very understanding and attentive. She immediately recognized that the office didn't have my prescription and agreed to order the correct lenses. What bothered me was that Oni seemed ready to let me leave with the terrible vision I came in with. Only after I insisted and made it clear how unsafe it was for me to walk and drive like this did she finally message the doctor. Eventually, she gave me temporary contacts that were close to my prescription, but it felt like pulling teeth to get basic care. I left feeling upset because compassion should be part of the job, especially when dealing with patients who rely on you to see clearly.
