I picked up a couple egg, cheese, English muffin meals for $2.50 each which looks so much healthier than McDonald's version. I grabbed two naan bread pizzas for $3 each which is so unique sounding! I also selected veggie tots on sale and noticed other EarthFare brand items offered extra points. I stopped by to get kale and was very pleased to find, not only organic kale, but it being on sale for $4/2, and the other one not quite $2. Great price! I unfortunately did not find any organic strawberries, must be out of season though my usual place gets them but are always picked through by the time I get there. I decided to swing by the meat area and decided to get GF ground sirloin. They tend to be around $5.99/lb - good price as they can go for much higher. (Note: the next day, I received a text that there's a sale for $3.99/lb GF which is an awesome price). I also picked up some boneless skinless chicken thighs as they are very tender and made great for the dish my son made. I was looking for a special GF/DF (gluten free, dairy free) pastry product that was advertised on FB and stated it'd be at Earthfare. Could not find it, and no one heard of it. However, there were some new frozen DF dessert ice cream bar like products that I bought. Though the renovation made the whole place feel more expansive and open, the seating area is right along the side near the front, etc . . For some reason, it lost that more intimate and cozy feel to it for me. It used to have a room that could be used for meetings or something (years ago, my son's martial arts studio held a ceremony in it, and we could easily get healthy food from their deli/food counter). That's no longer possible. They still have good prices when products are on sale, and they do carry certain things consistently and known for products without hormones nor antibiotics, so hope they stay in business. I shopped here as soon as my husband was very ill with his autoimmune disease and the food source was utmost importance. I love what they stand for and you earn points each time you come and can get other points bringing your own bags. I love that they encourage people to not use plastics (they have paper bags) but to use their own recycling bags. I have a whole bunch of them in car trunk as not only is it important what we put inside our body, it's important what we put on our planet.

Yep, you read that right, which is fine if the sandwiches knocked your socks off. But, the Reuben was disappointing. The bread was lightly, lightly toasted, no butter. Sauerkraut was very light and I really couldn't tell if there was any Swiss cheese on this sandwich. The meat was also warm outside, but cold to center. The meat portion was not well proportioned to the sandwich overall. It was decent, but not even close to the $12.99 price tag. I can't even for certain say that all the basic ingredients were there much less the execution. So, I love the guys. Very friendly. Love the story. But, please, rethink how to make a sandwich for this price. Yeah, I have been to NY and eaten at plenty of NY deli's, so put that card back in the deck. It's not only overpriced, but under-executed. For context: same meal at Jersey Mike's (Italian #13 Regular) with chips and bottle of water is $14.34 including tax. Harry's Hoagies is $11.80 for the 6 inch. Publix (Boar's head just like C & C, whole Italian sub) $9.59 for the whole sub. Even today, Chick-Fil-A - #2 combo, large drink, medium fries and an extra eight count nugget, $16.33 with tax.

Be advised that the stew contains bones from the meats. The stew has a Smokey flavor, the orange slices are traditional to cut the richness of the stew by contrast with citrus and the collards are shredded and sautéed with garlic. The store is very clean. There are lots of Brazilian food options, even cases of guarana antartica canned soda. There is also a refrigerated case for meats, dairy and treats in addition to the dry goods and the fresh bakery items. This is a fun store. The manager also said they do a daily lunch plate every weekday that is $14 per plate, pre-portioned out but reportedly a good sized serving. I will need to give this a try.
