To be honest, Maya completely fried my hair. I was going to her every 2-3 weeks for a root touch-up, bleach, and tone. The very first time I went to her, I loved the results, but after that, there was always an issue. Sometimes she would leave purple patches in my hair, other times it would come out yellow. She wouldn't even style it at the end because she seemed to get lazy and would leave my hair half wet. For my last appointment, I messaged her to book again, and she told me that she no longer offers bleach and tone services. Honestly, after everything, I wasn't surprised. read more

If I could I would give this place 0 stars. I had such a bad hair job done l had to walk out of the salon and have someone correct my hair. Came in for a baylage and walked out with highlights and a terrible cut that lasted 5 min. There where so many mistakes made From the beginning started with stripping of the color I had before was bleached and toned instead to get rid of the color and did not work. Save yourself the hastle go somewhere else... I specifically requested no root touching and no highlights... not sure why the stylist ignored this and only did the top half, did not bother to touch underneath the hair. read more

I appreciate the attention to detail! She only works a few days a week so call ahead to book her! After seeing some recent reviews regarding scheduling/cancelling appointments, I decided to post my experience. Almost six years ago, I had my hair cut twice there, was happy with the cut, however their appointment scheduling auto service left a lot to be desired, so I did not schedule any more appointments. Some time after my appointments, I started receiving appointment notifications on my cell. I responded through their appt service, online and by direct phone call to salon that they had the wrong phone number. For the YEARS since I continue to receive appt notifications on my cell. I do not call them any longer. However a couple of months ago, I called the salon and asked if they had a stylist who could cut a wedge hair style since most photos are of long hair. The person on the phone asked me to send pictures of me, which I did. Obviously that gave them my phone number. Someone responded by text that they had no one to cut my style (?!) I brought my daughter in for highlights and Emily her assigned stylist said she would definitely be able to make it happen. I let them know that my daughter had very thick curly mixed hair and she had never had any type of coloring done before and she said that wouldn't be a problem. Well after like 5 hours my daughter came out with a horrible job done. Her highlights were yellow and looked nothing like the picture I showed her. I don't like it when people will tell you they can do something only to get paid for it and not being anything close to what she wanted. Today was my first visit to Cooper & Strop, and needless to say I was defiantly be returning as a regular. Carli was my stylist, she is a hair genie! I'm originally from the High Desert and while I only visit occasionally for family, this is one of my go-to salons and I've planned my visits around hair appointments. I've had a few color and cut services here, and always leave feeling and looking amazing (as in feeling the need to take 50 selfies of my new hair... embarrassing but true). The salon has such a cool, unique, clean style and such a friendly vibe from the moment I step in. I've worked with 2 different stylists so far and really enjoyed how quickly the time went by during the long coloring process, just by chatting. I usually bring in photos of what I want, and everything is thoroughly documented on their Instagram page if you want inspiration for something new. On my first visit, my hair turned out to be WAY too much of a brighter red than I'd wanted and when I called the salon, the owner was so kind and willing to accommodate me.... she offered for me to come in any time the same day so that she could personally make sure it was fixed. I really appreciated how much she cared about her clients leaving happy and loving their hair. They always do their best to book me last-minute appointments if they can, and they actually call me if appointment times open up. I called for a last-minute blowout for a wedding I was going to, and the staff really did their best to work me in that day and kept in touch, and was the only HD salon that did! The prices are more than fair for the excellent quality of service; I've paid twice as much for similar cut/color services in LA. You can enjoy a glass of wine while you sit back and get your hair done in such a comfortable, warm setting. I love that they've since expanded to 2 other locations since I started visiting, and they're such a great addition to the area! Let me start off by saying when it comes to scheduling & her policies, very easy to follow and she was understanding about my reschedule. When arriving to the salon it was very clean & welcoming. The woman at the front desk was very kind & helped me getting checked in quick. Now when it came to the day of my appointment Margherite was very sweet, helped me decide the best way to go about doing my hair. Very friendly & very considerate. We never had an awkward moment lol. I moved to the High Desert a few months ago and although I've been cutting my own hair for decades, I needed it styled for an important event. I had booked an appointment with this location over a week in advance and the day of my appt, I showed up with my stylist nowhere to be seen. (I ended up waiting over an hour but this story takes a 180* turn.) It turns out, the receptionist had taken down a single digit of my number incorrectly and because the stylist couldn't reach me to confirm prior to the date, she'd cancelled it. I hadn't a clue, since it was my first time here. One of the other stylists, who'd come in early for a client, was extremely helpful and made sure I was taken care of (I wish I'd gotten her name). She contacted the owner immediately and the owner, Michelle, was exceptional in how she handled the situation. I've very rarely come across people with this level of customer service ethics. I can clearly see why her employees (the few I met) have the great attitudes they do, since Michelle herself is a class act. My stylist was notified, came over shortly after and even though I worried about a rushed job (I was short on time), she executed perfectly. I was more than satisfied with my hair and overall relieved. Alicia had my hair done (wash and style) in less than an hour and did so beautifully. Thank you, Michelle and staff!
