These guys are an absolute joke, they've got good year on their signs out front, a bunch of Goodyear signage in their office including signage about the Goodyear credit card. I brought my truck in to be inspected knowing that they're obviously going to find a few things to fix before they pass it because that's just how it is. Well when the time comes to pay for the inspection they tell me they don't take the Goodyear card despite all the signage around. So I had to take my truck to a different Goodyear to have the repairs done. So obviously Mr Ray wasn't very happy about that, when I brought my vehicle back after having had all of the things fixed that they wanted me to get fixed they failed my truck for "new" little and mostly untrue reasons. Ray lied to my face and told me my truck pulls to the right (it doesn't) and that the much more reputable shop I took my truck to did bad work. Don't deal with these shysters, I'd love to know the reason why they have all the Goodyear signage about the credit card when they don't take it anymore. I want to start by saying my car was worked upon in a timely fashion, but I am very disappointed by the final result. I also may add an amendment to this review, I was hoping to include the answer to my emailed question regarding the work performed. I brought my car in to the shop, "with a major oil leak I could actually see happening every time I added oil, leaking badly right below the oil intake hole. And said the car needs to last another 3-4 weeks so nothing needs fixed unless it will lead to the car exploding, crashing, or dying before then." Based on my description, and I assumed their visual inspection of where it leaks when you add oil, they said that the leak is coming from the valvecover gasket and they would replace it. They said, "to make sure we are getting all the leaks we will need to steam clean the engine because it is covered in oil." I declined the cleaning because the car only needed to last another 3 weeks, and the shop said the gasket replacement would solve the major leak I saw. So the shop replaced the gasket and also changed my oil because they said, "the only in the car was black." When I picked the car up I asked the man behind the counter, "Will the car make it another 3-4 weeks?" He looked at what was done and the recommended maintenance and said, "yes, it should make it that long." I then drove the car from the shop to 7-Courts in Perry Hall, and from there that same afternoon to Loch Raven Reservoir. On the way back from Loch Raven the engine shut off on 695 with an error message saying the engine has lost oil pressure. I had it towed to my house and checked the oil to find it was empty. I added oil, and watched it pour out of the engine directly under the intake hole JUST like it did before the shop "fixed the major oil leak." I then walked back to the shop and looked at the spot my car was located when I picked it up, and found a large oil stain in the parking spot, quite possibly from the oil leaking out of my car. I emailed the shop with my concerns about the work this morning and got this in reply, "As I explained to you before the work was done we had to replace the valvecover gasket , clean the engine and recheck for leaks. You did not authorize the enine clean so there was no way to be sure the oil leak was completely fixed. If you want to return the car we can clean the engine and recheck the oil leak. Ray Brehm" My issues are as follows: 1. My car still does not hold oil, and the major leak is in the same location, right below the intake hole, that I described prior to the work being completed. What leak was actually fixed then, where did you see this leak occuring? 2. How was this MAJOR flow of oil out of the engine NOT noticed, the cleanliness of the engine does not mask the oil flowing out of the engine. I am not a mechanic and I can see it as plain as day. 3. The shop changed my oil, it would be pure negligence for someone putting multiple quarts of oil into the car to NOT see the oil leaking back out. 4. If a car is brought to a shop for a major oil leak, and oil change, does the shop NOT double check after these things are completed that the car is still holding oil? In this case how was the leak not noticed, because I can see it happening in real time, and the oil stain on the concrete where my "fixed" car was parked at the shop. 5. At the barest of minimums based on what has happened, I do not believe I should have to pay for the oil change and oil leak fix. Here is a follow up (the shop did not reply to the message above, or my follow up email.) They changed my oil after they fixed a major oil leak below the oil intake hole, and on the drive after I picked up my car from their shop the engine seized up because it was out of oil. They claimed it, "was not their fault because I did not allow them to steam clean the engine to allow them to see any other leaks." Here is a video of me adding oil, like they did after they fixed the leak, a day after my car's engine seized up after leaving their shop. The engine had still not been steam cleaned, but I (and anyone watching this) can clearly see the oil leak. How did their mechanics NOT see this when they changed my oil? Not only did it NOT need the two costly repairs, but the mechanic also explained why they didn't and did it without talking poorly about the dealer who made the initial recommendation. We came to this shop with being really close to our home and being highly recommended. My wife was having issues with her rear turbocharger we took the car to Perry Hall Auto & tire because we called inquiring if they could fix this issue with the car and they informed us that they could. We dropped the car off and staff seemed pretty cool and willing to help, this is when the issues started. We were originally suppose to pick the car up in 2/3 days they received a call saying that the car wouldn't be ready on original date and would be available to be picked up until July 5th due to a piece being backordered and the holiday, July 5th came and car was not fixed and we weren't given a date. We received a call on Friday saying the car was available to be picked up. I went to pick the car up, made a payment jumped in car and drove off. I arrived home which is 2 minutes away from the shop when I arrived home I noticed there was a crack in the windshield on the passenger side when I stepped out of the vehicle to inspect it further I noticed there was duct tape on a bracket that had been cracked while repairs were being completed. This was highly upsetting and I immediately contacted the shop in regards to these issues. I spoke with Ray and he informed me that they would repair the issues and pay to have out windshield retinted. The car was taken back to the shop on Monday July 20th due to the windshield was being back ordered. Ray informed me he was on vacation but Tony would take care of me and make sure everything was completed. When dropping the vehicle off I was informed by Tony that they had a number of cars ahead of us and wouldn't be able to get to our car that day. Which we were ok with, around 4pm I received a call informing me that the vehicle was available to be picked up. Upon pick up my wife noticed immediately there was a bracket on the outside of the car was now damaged/cracked into 2 pieces as well as bracket that was being replaced due to being cracked while being repaired was not sitting flush with the windshield and there was large gaps between the windshield and bracket. Tony then stated to myself that the bracket on the outside of the car had been broke prior to being dropped off (which was not the case being photos was provided to Ray to see what kind of windshield was needed showing the bracket undamaged). I sent Ray a text message with the new issues to inform him that things continue to get broken as they attempt to fix other things. On July 16th the vehicle check engine light was on we received 2 error codes to avoid something else being broken by Perry Hall Auto we took the car to another shop to get the car looked at, the new shop discovered there was actually 4 codes on the vehicle these codes were P0020, P0022, P0299 & P0068. The check engine light was a new thing codes P0299 & P0068 both are an issue with the Turbo Underboost. I've made numerous attempts to reach out to Ray to get these issues fixed and received no answer from Ray. needless to say we will never use this company again read more

I managed to get my car to Perry Hall Auto & Tire for a second opinion because I knew I could trust them... the same fixes were quoted at $300 LESS and they identified the faulty work that was done by the Firestone. I took my SUV to them and told them which power steering hose was bad and gave them the hose to install, they told me it was really the other higher labor cost hose so i told them to do it, they installed that hose and then told me I needed the hose I originally told them was leaking. I took the first hose to another shop and they proved the first hose they replaced was not damaged or leaking by putting it on my truck and showing me it was not leaking. These guys will cheat you by faking repairs by steering you into unnecessary additional repairs, I had this confirmed later by other locals who were cheated here as well. Find another local shop because these guys WILL CHEAT you. When I offered them less money for the "repairs" they readily took it knowing I was aware of their attempted scam. I have been a customer for a few years now . I was happy with this shop until recently. I took my car there about a month and a half ago to put 4 news tires and to have an alignment done. Paid for the service to only have to replace my front 2 tires within 3 k miles after alignment done . Tires wore the exact same way after the alignment was supposedly done .Shop owner told me that there is no way they did anything wrong . He told me that he's not responsible for my tires that I have to purchase cause of an alignment that they either didn't do or did wrong . I will never go to this shop again. read more

I had taken my car to Perry Hall Auto and Tire Center for a little over a year. I had a few issues with them. I had the same headlight replaced 4 times in the same year and later found out they use cheap headlights. Also, I had asked to have my tires checked and rotated. They rotated the tires and didn't tell me that the one tire was worn all the way down. The final straw was when I had my rotors replaced and they put on used, rusty rotors. My brother in law went there to have his brake lights fixed over and over again. He then took it to Firestone and was told that the brake lights were rigged up and not even put in correctly. My boss took his car there numerous times for the same problem and they kept coming up with different excuses. I found out through a previous employee that they use cheap and/or used parts. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. GO TO SCHULTZ ENTERPRISES, they are great!! read more

I've always found this shop to be reasonably priced and honest. You already know why reasonable prices are good, but here's why honesty is a big deal in this industry. If you go down to a chain service shop like Firestone or Pep Boys, their service advisors get paid on commission. The bigger the ticket they can write the more money they make. It doesn't matter if it actually fixes your car or if the work is done right either. They'll pass you on to a 1-800 number and collect their check just the same. A good, locally owned shop like this one can't do that. And this one doesn't. They've told me when a repair quoted elsewhere is unnecessary, when a cheaper option is available, and most importantly, the work has always been done right. That's going to save you money in the long run and you'll be confident that the money you're spending isn't going to an unnecessary repair. read more

As soon as I arrived, they took my car in and, while going through their routine oil change noticed a brake light out, which they quickly replaced - no fuss or hassle. I have been going to this place for the past two years. I appreciate after my car has been serviced to receive some sort of feedback regarding brakes, filter, wipers, etc. In all of the two years that I had my car serviced they never provided any type of feedback. I decided to give another auto mechanic a try since and while I was waiting the mechanic came out into the waiting area with my filter and asked who had been doing my oil changes. He showed me the filter and said that the filter had not been changed for quite some time. He explained what the filter should look like from the time between one oil change to the next. I'm not quite sure how many oil changes I went without having my oil filter changed but even going more than once is unacceptable. read more

We took our car here last week to get a Maryland safety inspection. They gave us a list of the work that needed to be done but could not give us an estimate. We asked that they call us on Monday to provide us with an estimate so we could get the car fixed. They never called so me made arrangements to have the car fixed somewhere else. When we dropped our car off there again this morning to get the repairs inspected one of the lights mysteriously broke on the car that now needs to be fixed. Do not take your car to this place! Update: Previously, I reported that they sent my wheel off to a third party to have it resurfaced/refinished and two weeks later, the wheel had cracked again. It's so rare to find an auto shop that you can trust, but this place is great and they really value customer service. When my husband's car busted a tire in a nearby parking lot, they came and towed the car to their shop for free, and even gave him a ride home (we live only 5-10 minutes away, but still, they didn't have to do that). They also priced 4 new tires for my car and installed them for about $200 less than the dealer's quote. They listened to my needs and offered a decent but not overly priced tire for my vehicle. He has excellent prices as well. Just today, 2/21, I got stuck on Bel Air Road during the snowstorm trying to get my dog. I called the shop and though they had closed, Ray answered and personally came and pulled my car up the hill to my destination on his way home. I tried this place once to get a fuel pump relay replaced. They replaced that part and the car started but in the process about 10 other things were broken. As soon as I got in the car I noticed a couple of things that the mileage wasnt showing and the lights werent working correctly. I went right back and was told to drive it for a little bit and see if they would correct themselves. I said this is not the type of thing that would correct itself. Then I was told at least its starting. I would hope so. So reluctantly I left to drive it for a couple of weeks as told and as I thought it didnt fix itself. I went back and told them I drove it a little bit and they are still not working along with a list of other items. Was told by one of the workers that I have to come back when the master electrician was there to look at it. Then went back and saw the main guy there and was told I would have to pay for a new fuse panel bc they had to change the one around to fix the fuel pump relay. What kind of company breaks something and wont fix it or make it right for free? These are all still giving me issues and causing more issues down the line. I will never go back there and probably wont answer if they contact me bc they had their chance a couple of times to make it right and refused. At this point I would never trust taking my car there ever again afraid that they would break something else. read more
